Is anybody going to listen to Hoagland's Pluto show tonight?  Or was it last night?

I really hope he sleeps through the 5th and 6th hour.

It was last night, July 14th. I heard some of it  :o

You are too late, Hoagland's Pluto special was 2am-7am this morning already.
He also appeared for a special Pluto update for an hour tonight at 7pm on the DM network.

However Keith Rowland posted earlier today that the 5 hour Pluto special would be archived and available as a podcast for "Other Side of Midnight" subscribers ($5/month)

Damn, I was curious how he would fill 5 hours of show when we won't get much data or photos of pluto for a week or so

Dang I actually was UP that late today due to having to drop some folks off at the airport for a 6am international flight. Dang it! I'm listening to some old Phil Hendrie now. Couldn't deal with Norry gloating over kicking RCH out and blocking, likely it seems, Art's Facebook page.

He had two guests, Richard and Dick.  Richard, Richard, and Dick talked about all things 19.5.

We're talking RCH here.  All he has to do is open his mouth.

George hasn't commented on the thing at all.  Hoaxland did comment, but while their probably is some truth to what he says (the part about Tommy is likely true and it doesn't seem to be a case of good cop/bad cop as, according to Hoaxland, Tommy had a long hate on for him.) there is also a great dealing of self serving in what Hoaxland said.  ....

Ok who knows but George could have avoided the whole drama had he just stepped up and made good on the bet like seven years ago - e.g. put Hoagie on some Friday nite when George doesn't even wanna be there anyway.  Anyway I'm no true believer by any means when it comes to Hoagie but I get the sense the whole thing was mishandled on the c2c side.

George had a Q&A tonight as well for his Coast Insiders hahaha You can't make this shit up  ;D

well said, but I personally look forward to listening to the RCH show

I was a bit surprised but actually thought the first show was kind of fun.  Hell at least it wasn't about numerology or vitamin supplements and had some interesting bumper music.

After it all collapses around George, it'll just be Dave all by his lonesome.  Listening to UFO Phil.

There is a God.

This sounds like a fun assignment for anyone still feisty from today's AMA fu.

Failed every class in high school because you were hanging out in the smoke pit?  We want you on Coast to Coast AM.

George: Are we having hotter summers and colder winters? Is that what is happening?
Guest: No, not really.

George has not one clue wtf he is talking about. If you listen to C2C as a comedy program it is tolerable, barely barely tolerable  ;D

I don't listen anymore but when I did, I'd just think of the old MST3K cast riffing a bad movie.  George is the bad movie.

In regards to Hoaxland not telling the whole truth, while he does say that he had discussed wanting to do a 5/6 hour show with Noory before bringing it up on the air, he also says that Noory was noncommittal about it.  Noory said on the show something like "I've already told you that's not going to happen, so don't bring it up anymore."  I see no reason why Noory would make that up and I completely buy Noory's version that he had previously told him NO (and likely at least several times.)

Also, while I agree with Hoaxland that Noory isn't that sharp (or whatever the exact wording it was that he used), after being Noory's friend for years and getting far more out of being on the show than Noory ever got out of it, saying that was completely classless and was an obvious attempt to play to the BellGab crowd, which was mentioned at least twice before he made that comment in his interview.

So, Hoaxland, while I realize I should only speak to myself, I think I can safely say that nearly everybody here doesn't think you're all that sharp either.

I will make one edit to my previous comment, whenever Hoaxland is on Art's new show, I will be listening to Coast to Coast.

You might as well listen to white noise as Art w/RCH >> anything Jorch does these days.

This is like listening to Billy Meier's made up conversations with the Pleiadians.  Neither know what they are talking about but they both congratulate each other on how wise they are.

Sounds like the Dunning-Kruger effect.
<snip>
The Dunning-Kruger effect is a slightly more specific case of the bias known as illusory superiority, where people tend to overestimate their good points in comparison to others around them, while concurrently underestimating their negative points. The effect has been shown by experiment in several ways, but in this case Dunning and Kruger tested students on a series of criteria such as humour, grammar, and logic and compared the actual test results with each student's own estimation of their performance.
Those who scored well on these tests were shown, consistently, to underestimate their performance. This is not terribly surprising and can be explained as a form of psychological projection: those who found the tasks easy (and thus scored highly) mistakenly thought that they would also be easy for others. This is similar to the aforementioned "impostor syndrome" â€" found notably in graduate students and high-achieving women â€" whereby high achievers fail to recognise their talents as they think that others must be equally good.
More interestingly, and the subject of what became known as the Dunning-Kruger effect, those who scored lowest on the test were found to have "grossly overestimated" their scores. And what about the underachievers who overestimated their performance? In the words of Dunning and Kruger:
This overestimation occurs, in part, because people who are unskilled in these domains suffer a dual burden: Not only do these people reach erroneous conclusions and make unfortunate choices, but their incompetence robs them of the metacognitive ability to realize it. </snip>

I took a look at the C2C FB page and people are mentioning Art, they asked about Hoagland and if Dave sabotaged Art's FB page. They also have a spammer and others complaining and making snide remarks. If they remove all of them- they'll have very few comments.

I'm listening on SiriusXM and there was a squatty potty commercial with a discount if you use the code "Coast."
