I just can't even.

It was inadvertently hilarious. Why radio is theater of the mind. Or the plain nutso. To his credit the host deadpanned and just her drone on about birds and lack of finding a new partner. And speculate over a cat situation, although she is a "bird person." He wished her well.
I agree, it is likely a defect, but local radio is so good because you get the random things. And when live events happen (blackouts, someone fly a plane into the 'secret' IRS building, and so on.) But even mundane. Here, for example, the FM listeners used to call in to the AM channel and vice-versa, so you'd get a stoner trying to get free tickets to a rock concert call into a show that is, basically, folks bitching about property taxes and 'those kids.' And some old lady call into to the FM station to bitch about property taxes to a show talking about free tickets and whatever sex incidents. And the hosts on each channel would mess with the clueless callers who are confused about what the heck happening!

The swap shows in places like Arkansas are amazing. "Ok so someone on Route 4 has an old refrigerator he will trade for an outboard motor, he can rebuilt if it doesn't work. The refrigerator works but needs a new condenser, he thinks."

Dave had a boring exorcist on. There were a few good callers. One guy who knew a lot of details about the people involved in the 'real' case the movie was based on. And a lady who had some interesting stories and concerns about her daughter and her friends and that kids do 'seances' in school, mysterious medallion of St.Benedict* appearing after the girls played with a Ouija Board and mom discovered the situation and said prayers.

The second guest, splitch-show format was another 'healer' who makes wooden eggs with lights, 'sacred geometry,' and crystals to heal ailments- though she can't, legally, say that.

Dave frequently says that C2C "doesn't do politics." And last night guest was....wait for it....Dick Morris! No politics were discussed, I'm sure. He probably was on to talk about the shadow people in the White House and his UFO experiences.

Norway even pushed Dick Morris to get Donald Trump himself to be a guest on c2cam.  He thought Trump would love to interact with the callers.  Imagine the sad pack regulars including Cornelius, Mike the Millenial, Thomas in La Jolla, Walt the skeptic - all calling in for Trump!

I would listen to that show. It would be hilarious. Corny would go on about his pardon and the corruption of the FBI, Trump would agree. Mike would mention some issue about video games and the problems in his generation and thank Trump for giving them hope. Trump would wish Mike's mother well, and shake his head and mutter 'what a friggin loser.' Thomas would ask some weird, esoteric question that would go over Trump's head and he would say "look, Thomas, I don't know about pyramids in China, or whatever crystal oscillations used in old monasteries prior to the Council of Nicea- but CHINA! I'm more concern with the trade imbalance with China. We need to bring manufacturing back here- to the USA!"

Ha! Yes. Walt: "with all due respect what is your shoe size?" And then Walt would proceed to mention the various women in Trump's lives and appraise their assets. Dave would get uncomfortable "it is a family show Walt, my mom is listening." And Trump would say "this is just lockerroom talk, Mr.Norway, I like this Walt guy. He is an average working man who should vote for me!"

C2C had a black guy guest on! Dave was repeating same questions but Corny liked it and the guest seemed to have some chops but decided to go a bit out there. But who knows?

Quayle was on last night. Dave had to caution him, again, when he breathlessly began to describe giants raping women and the logistics and possible initial consequences of the act. We also got "in real time statuiaries of alien species" "intelligence community feeding Steven Spielberg*" "Vatican is up to the eye-balls in secret deals."

Dave seems slurring and mumbling more than usual. Even reading the news cribbed from Drudge headlines. Seems to trail off or gets cut off by board op during the 3x5 card interviews. And the board op also speeds up, and slows down, 'The Chase' maybe because Dave is 'not ready.' I also like he never corrects frequently caller "Corny" when he calls him "Mr.Norway."
