Whew. Exactly. That is tough. There are concerns who like nationalism, especially in a certain country- no others unless in their interests (for now/then.) There are others who like 'globalism' 'simply as a money-maker and simple, sound economic theory- in theory. And others who see the globalism as a end in itself because they already have enough money but want a utopia. And there are also those who thrive on disruption. Some for profit and some for chaos for sake of it (more esoterically maybe.)  And those who rather like stability and more about control, or even just stability, even if profits are lacking. There are competing interests and objectives. Not in my backyard and personal stuff is also a factor. It also doesn't matter whether it is true or real but what is believed and how it is acted upon. (Ha. Manifest reality crap or rewrite it....what is the 'narrative' today....)

What is the weight of the fabric like on a real one from over there?  Mine are thinner than a linen dishtowel; you end up breathing through three or four layers of the stuff at least.  That looks like it could be thicker.

Really, that is a lovely one anyone could wear but you have watch the videos on how to tie it, with a point in the front and at least a row of fringe showing.  I would tie it for you, put on a safari jacket, you'd be beating them off with a stick.

Oh I think I said before the whole mask thing is purely symbolic, probably an easy way to measure conformity in the populace.  I read a story maybe a week ago describing a machine to sterilize medical-grade masks, three hours in some kind of peroxide fog.  But they tell us just throw them in with the laundry.  For me it is just a style challenge.

I go into the science (as such) and semantics, possibly. Sanitation, Sterilization, Cleaning, DEFINITIONS and why they don't define differences? Months ago I was asking people about 'what about UV?' Ionization? What about ECMO (used now in one case at least I read about!) Bring back Iron-Lungs (passive vs active.) Latex vs Nitrile- or other in combo? N-95? There are other N-rated masks and why no talk (except here by me and a few) about suits (TyChem better than Tyvek?) And I said the "mask" deal was triage. Not told to do because shortage. As are ventilators, really.  It is an insane situation. Hyped up by "them." I can't even donate old clothes, furniture, VHS tapes, and crap I've cleaned out of attic and closets. Because, in a crisis, people don't need stuff?

The impulse towards charity is honorable -- no doubt those VHS tapes would be put to good use, perhaps painstakingly stitched together by hand to make an impenetrable, water-and-airtight suit like the Eskimos did with seal intestines.

I suspect a bad worm of thought, though possibly twisted. I accepted many of those boxes in a "I'm going to donate in any event, I'll take yours also"  not realzing amounts or that places aren't accepting donations (during a crisis!.) And now stuck. Granted donations but why accept for more, for me to give? Than stuck with? For now!  I will consult Luther 'on the joose' and see if I can parlay this for profit. Some time. Just moved boxes of VHS tapes back into garage.

I'll be honest. I was going to wear the mask below as a "protest" if / when outright required. For now, I am a rebel and going "mask free". Between you and Asuka, I am now seriously considering the keffiyeh.

I say wear it as a protest, because I recognize that I will not be boiling it in a bleach solution after every wearing followed by laundering it in the "normal manner". As such, it is going to end up a virus laden piece of cloth that will, if anything, give me the virus even while it (supposedly) protects others...
