Morgus beat you on this vid. But I'm glad it is gaining more traction and views on various platforms. It is hilarious. I'm not masking but wearing bandanas. Because if reminds me of playing cowboy and indians and I like the idea entering the bank, the post office, a liquor store, etc looking like a bandit.
I am was a big fan of the Renegades.  Now I is one.

Haha I forgot about you.  Yes, honey, someone would give you an actuarial table and probably take a great deal of delight in explaining it to you in all its aspects.

Total avoision! ::)

Wrong again.

80,000 deaths in the USA from flu didn't cause me to bat an eyelash. Almost nobody even had a clue or paid any attention.

I'm going to say at least double that (and possibly even triple) is the "correct" answer. Once you get to around a quarter million deaths per year in the USA I might sit up and take notice.

But even then, you are not even at one half of one percent as a mortality rate. A good and proper pandemic should be taking out more than that.

I'm actually getting a little disappointed with this virus. You would think it could either wipe out a good portion of the population like the Spanish flu, or that it could provide some real life gore and fear like ebola.

*My apologies for not putting it in spread sheet form. But I figure it is close enough.
I was really hoping for the Black Death, so I could be one of the REALLY cool kids.

As loath as I am to suggest such a thing given your usual perspicacity, doc, I fear you may have lost the thread of the discussion.

No, he made some good points that you conveniently chose to ignore. Instead you condescended to him, suggesting that someone should explain actuarial tables to him.

It is fun. I have yet to try, come on momento mori accepted I still don't want to press it, but I wonder if the "open carry" law has been coupled with the bandana wearing rules? That might put a start into some shop-owner!
Also, as an aside, have any lawyers challenged laws or sued public officials for advocating breaking statute laws? Several States (and some Countries) have historical "anti-mask" or "anti-facecover" laws to fight against crime, riots, insurrection, KKK, etc. Now "they" say "wear a mask?" Without changing the laws? And "they" want face-recognition, CCTV (well actually not closed-circuit now,) everywhere? Has anyone flown recently and worn a mask through the TSA?

I love what a fucked-up cluster fuck this whole thing has been.  Mel Brooks couldn't have come up with a more eye-crossing script.

The doc was busy playing with the other machines.

I like it!  If you were in Texas, you could complete your stylish wardrobe with an AK, and walk around, in a "non-threatening manner," of course.

It's called a keffiyeh or shemagh -- spellings vary as usual with Arabic transliterations.  They were hot maybe a decade ago when Urban Outfitters sold them and I still have a couple left over, one in a fetching turquoise.  Probably ebay is your best bet -- I went looking a couple weeks ago before I found my old ones.  There's videos showing how to tie so you don't look like an idiot.

You might try ebay.uk.  That hopeless place is full of muzzies.

Can one re-purpose the dishcloth deal so popularized by folks like Arafat? Or must we all go full-in like his "Black September" gang in our face-covering?

Heh, heh, always the fashionable trend setter.

Arafat's dishcloth was the same thing, just tied uniquely.  They're a large square maybe 3 foot not including tassels and the little cords at the corners.

So I'm guessing I should monitor Ebay "Little Italy" failed restaurants sales? Some deals might be had on checkered table cloths since Corona-Chan has shut them all down.....

No the weave of a keffiyeh is very distinct, and you really need the fringes to make it pop.

That wonderful summer when Muslim garb was made trendy by returning vets and assorted "contractors"....

I'm sure with appropriate contacts in the "restaurant" associated garment district we can these repurposed and resown.

Yeah, you're right, I think that's what started it.  The ebay listings call them "tactical" which makes me howl.  Cultural appropriation.  I remember a few weedy bearded fellows sporting those Pashtun berets that look like pies with a crimped crust, too.

I've already cornered the market for Spam, to balance my sardine diet and to price gouge the soon to be starving masses.
