I agree on the divisiveness, I don't think it's constructive and crazy ass bigotry like wanting to execute homosexuals, or anti-Semitism or racism are invalid, flawed, old ideas that have no place in modern civilization. The problem is that the left also uses those ideas as accusations for just about anything if they want to shut down a debate, and that is equally as divisive. There's just too much playing on people's emotions and rhetoric in politics and we really ought to be weighing the ideas behind the rhetoric instead of buying into it.
Well put, and a fair point.  I would say, though, that no left leaning candidate - in the current race - can be accused of directly appealing to racial elements through their actual words and actions.  Trump has repeatedly verbalized hateful things, retweeted bogus crime stats on race, retweeted white supremacists, called for violence against people exercising their first amendment rights, etc.  He is taking things to an all time low.  We should be demanding more of candidates on both sides, not cheering on his race to the gutter.

Trump survived that by loudly disavowing multiple times during the days that followed. In other words, it slid off. The fact that Ted didn't do that in the following days is a problem, and an email from a campaign manager isn't enough. It will be one of many things that the media beats Cruz to death with during the GE should he get the nomination.

When brought to task over the shenanigans his campaign pulled in Iowa and then In South Carolina, Cruz demonstrated his lack of executive experience. Instead of disavowing it publicly, he pulled Ben Carson into some type of utility closet in an attempt at apologizing. Instead of firing his Communications Director, he asked for his resignation. Oh, I am sure he would have fired him if the guy refused to resign, but this is an indicator of his lack of executive experience.

He doesn't demonstrate the decision making skills that it takes to be president. This has been my biggest fear of him being the nominee. He doesn't have the executive experience. I will vote for him if he ends up somehow being the nominee, because he is still better than Hillary Clinton, but he was my second choice in the primary.

His disavowals where as hollow as my kids saying sorry when caught with their hands in the cookie jar, although they haven't been as weaselly as blaming a bad earpiece.

"I disavow, Ok?" is pretty damn weak, by any measure.

(As an aside, when I first heard about Trump's excuse, I thought he blamed a "bad hairpiece".)

Ill advised, but not hateful.

Then there is this:

https://youtu.be/PX9reO3QnUA

Liberals ridicule Trumps appearance all the time his hair, his shitty spray on tan, his hands, he don't cry about it. The left can dish shit out but they cant take it they crawl into he fetal position and cry.

mikuthing01

Now liberals are threatening violence against Trumps children.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2016/03/18/police-investigating-suspicious-package-threatening-letter-sent-to-donald-trumps-son/

I remember when Obama took office and liberals were screaming about how the kkk would kill him just for being the first black president. Then Obama went full Hitler tried to ban guns and still nothing. The primary's aren't even over and liberals are staging violent protests and plotting to kill his family because he might end up the republican nominee.

Liberalism, not even once

You need to think past the liberal media fear memes floating around. They're playing you.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejPEKdfPwjs

That's pretty funny coming from a guy that's defending Trump, a master manipulator. And it's not just the liberal media that's been exposing Trump, it's also the conservative media. When those two agree on anything, it pays to take it seriously. I don't agree with every bit of criticism, but I do agree with the major tenets of the anti-Trumpers.

You can't make this shit up.

David Duke believes comparisons of Donald Trump to Hitler are a good thing.

But did a white supremacist show up or someone pretending to be one from Hildawg's camp? You know those Clintons play dirty. Anyone remember when Obama was first becoming popular and threatening Hildog's Democratic nomination for President? Remember how this picture was traced to her camp? Anything to play on peoples fear of a black President. You don't think that took a racist mind to come up with? The question is was it Hillary or Bill's racist mind?

I'm sick of hearing how "racist" Trump is. If you don't realize that Hilary and Obama themselves are racist, then there's nothing I can do to help you. (That last part was not directed at you, Scifi but at people in general braying the "Trump is a racist" mantra)

If you suspected or even believed that Trump was a racist, you might still be sick of hearing about it. It seems like more of an annoyance than a problem for you.

For most, racism exists in the world, it's a problem wherever it exists, and it needs to be condemned unequivocally. Trump had that chance with the KKK and blew it.

Everyone is racist liberals just get a pass on it

I agree with Hillary on super predator thing though.

Whitewater, Vince Foster, Monica Lewinsky, Benghazi, the list of scandals that Billary have been involved in yet the media is obsessed with Trump. Go figure.

Nothing to figure out here. We know who Hillary is. But Trump is an unpredictable, game-breaking wrecking ball. Of course, people are fascinated with him. He likes it that way, btw. He's not really complaining, even when it sounds like he is.

I see nothing wrong with this sign. The fact Canadians don't like Trump is a plus in my book.

Somebody needs to do the wrecking. Because the American Political system is a heaping dumpster fire.

It only "slid off" with Trump's loyal followers, which is not terribly surprising in the context of this whole Trump movement. It was duly noted by everyone else.

As for Cruz, cable news has trouble covering several scandals at the same time. They like to finish with one before they start on another. The Cruz endorsements were covered elsewhere, mainly in print.

I'm coming around to the idea of Trump as president being great for Canada.  We have an intelligent, tough PM:

You'll have a borderline retarded wuss who throws like a girl:

Canada, making America our bottom again!

We have the Stanley Cup. Do you think a Canadian team will make it back in the playoffs anytime soon?

Granted. I just don't think we should put the wrecking ball in charge of rebuilding anything, even though, ironically, he's a real estate developer. He would be the destroyer-in-chief. Not acceptable for the leader of the Free World and CIC of the world's most lethal military.

Ouch, now you are playing hard ball.

A healthy Price should get the Habs back in it next year.  Would think it will 4-5 years before any other Canadian team will take a run at a cup.  It'll be Chicago, LA, Dallas, and St. Louis at the head of the pack for a while longer.  I like Washington this year, too, but Ovi is getting old. It's now or never for them.

I do like the Jays chances for the World Series this year, though, so we might have some bragging rights ourselves.

I'm a Hawks fan. I don't like the fact that they are on the skids right now. Fell from 1st to 3rd in a week. Predators are only 3 points back in the wildcard. Damn tough division they are in.

I used to watch the Expos play in Olympic Stadium, especially when the Cubs came to town. Most polite crowd on the planet.

Might be some fatigue setting in.  They have played an awful lot of high level hockey over the last 5 years.  I still think they will win again this year, and officially get "dynasty" status.

Was Andre Dawson a Cub or an Expo then - or did you see him in Montreal in both uniforms?

.... “Senator Cruz is passionate about religious liberties” Tyler said in an email. “Many respected organizations were sponsoring [the conference], but, given these offensive comments, it was a mistake for Senator Cruz to appear at the event.”[/i]

It's so much easier to get forgiveness than permission.

The General

I had a crazy thought.
What if Trump asked Sanders to be his running mate, and he agreed.
The whole dem/repub establishment would implode.

It'll never happen in a thousand years but that's also what I said when I first heard our current president's name.

I've seen him play in both uniforms, but only as an Expo in 77 and 78. I left the area after that when I got transferred to Omaha.
