I saw that news item re: Cruz, and was surprised it didn't get more coverage.  Shameful stuff.

You can bet that the Democrats will dig it up and beat the hell out of Cruz with it if he gets the nomination. War on gays, etc.

The liberal media is going to do an all out frontal assault on whomever the Republican front runner is. The concept of memes is not new. They began as far back as the Clinton administration, when every news outlet would receive a morning fax with talking points for the day. Now it is email.

The Dalhi Lama could be the front runner and he would be trashed. Jesus Christ could be the front runner and he would be trashed.

When every talking head uses the exact same words or slight variation of a theme, all on the same day, one has to realize that these are coordinated attacks that then gain persistence as the lemmings follow each other towards the cliff. The old concept of throwing shit to see what sticks.

It is very rare that an original thought is actually aired by the mainstream media.

He has been known to hang out with sinners, lepers and prostitutes. Saw him drinking wine with beggars just the other day. Did you see how dirty his feet are?

You could be talking about me, although it was Special Brew I was drinking with the homeless guys, rather than wine. It's certainly not the first time the comparison has been made.

Heh, so a white supremacist randomly shows up at a rally and that's news, but Ted Cruz hangs out with a pastor that wants execute gay people and he never disavows the guy and that's not news. Well, it will be if he gets the nomination ...

It`s a LOT more than "a random white supremacist." It`s a pattern. With regards to Cruz and the despicable pastor, this from the Cruz campaign:

Tyler, the Cruz spokesman, called Swanson’s comments “reprehensible” and said Cruz has spoken out repeatedly against anyone who calls for hatred or violence against homosexuals.

“Senator Cruz is passionate about religious liberties” Tyler said in an email. “Many respected organizations were sponsoring [the conference], but, given these offensive comments, it was a mistake for Senator Cruz to appear at the event.”

I would remind you, this is how Drumpf responded to the news that the KKK and David Duke have endorsed him:

As well they should.  This is 2016, and the world has changed - not always for the better, but mostly IMO.  The civilized world is moving beyond the kind of divisive politics that sadly are still core issues for the Republican base.  This is why the backlash about Trump exploiting fear and animosity for electoral gain has been so severe.  People on the left want change, too.

I hadn't seen that.  Good for him.

Heh, so a white supremacist randomly shows up at a rally and that's news,

But did a white supremacist show up or someone pretending to be one from Hildawg's camp? You know those Clintons play dirty. Anyone remember when Obama was first becoming popular and threatening Hildog's Democratic nomination for President? Remember how this picture was traced to her camp? Anything to play on peoples fear of a black President. You don't think that took a racist mind to come up with? The question is was it Hillary or Bill's racist mind?

I'm sick of hearing how "racist" Trump is. If you don't realize that Hilary and Obama themselves are racist, then there's nothing I can do to help you. (That last part was not directed at you, Scifi but at people in general braying the "Trump is a racist" mantra)

So a Cruz spokesperson disavows it in an email. Not Cruz himself. And you take that as sufficient. Trump personally disavows it multiple times on live television and through social media, and yet you choose to repeat it over and over.

I get it. You were in love with Carly Fiorina. She failed. Then you fell in love with Cruz, he is failing. Just remember, you are the one that stated on this forum that you would vote for the Republican nominee, even if it was Trump.

If you think tearing down Trump on this forum is going to increase Cruz's chances, you are solely mistaken. You are getting tedious and looking rather childish in your rants.

Whatever.  Get your jollies any way you wish.

One need only see Obama in action with his BLM movement to see how he really feels about white people, and probably other ethnicities as well. They're all racist, yet everyone gets a pass and Trump is crucified. For the record, I though everyone's lives mattered, but I guess not.

Of course it`s all a conspiracy. Just ask Drumpf. He`ll tell you that "the blacks" are fantastic people and, btw, they like him. Although, he doesn`t want them counting his money.

When it comes to the hack politicians, it's votes matter.  Lie, cheat, steal, whatever it takes. The Dem voter registration drive for the dead of Chicago is still going strong.

Calm down, sparky. I don`t have to "tear down Trump." Trump tears himself down rather well without anybody`s assistance. Furthermore, I could not possibly care any less whether you, or anybody on this rag, vote for that idiot or not. I take solace in the knowledge that he will never be President of this Republic. It`s simply not going to happen. But it is kind of amusing to point out what a complete dunderhead Drumpf is.

I agree on the divisiveness, I don't think it's constructive and crazy ass bigotry like wanting to execute homosexuals, or anti-Semitism or racism are invalid, flawed, old ideas that have no place in modern civilization. The problem is that the left also uses those ideas as accusations for just about anything if they want to shut down a debate, and that is equally as divisive. There's just too much playing on people's emotions and rhetoric in politics and we really ought to be weighing the ideas behind the rhetoric instead of buying into it.

That's one of Trump's strong points, he can bombastically counter the Clinton lie machine. None of the other Republicans will. To the establishment, Hillary is untouchable. They have some kind of deal with her and they consistently refrain from attacking her despite the fact that her political career should have been over by now after scandal after scandal. To Cruz, it would be unbecoming of his preacher persona that he's built to really go after Hillary. He'd simply be on the defensive the whole time as she creates various memes and talking points about him. War on women, war on homosexuals, etc.

Trump survived that by loudly disavowing multiple times during the days that followed. In other words, it slid off. The fact that Ted didn't do that in the following days is a problem, and an email from a campaign manager isn't enough. It will be one of many things that the media beats Cruz to death with during the GE should he get the nomination.
