I'll never understand people who waste any amount of time, in this precious life, on something they don't like or even hate.  Why don't they spend that time on someone or something they love?  This has never made sense to me, and I'm not going to waste my precious time trying to figure it out.  They are as free to do their thing as I am to do mine.

Still working on the RSS feed. I have the XML file secured but so secured even I can't access it. It'll play from the episode pages now, so I know that part of it is talking appropriately to the databases.

Talking with other devs. I was at it all weekend (up until 4 AM still working on it this morning).

I think it has to do with my hosting plan if I were to guess (everything else looks right), but we'll see.

Oh, the joys of radio on a budget! 

By the way, thanks to everyone who has subscribed. You rock. I'm going to do everything I can to make accessing the archives easier for mobile.

I agree with you Starr. I have made a few critical negative comments about MITD on the MITD thread but mostly out of frustration and disappointment for a show that I wanted to support. But I don't think it's fair to those who are fans of her show to go to her thread and constantly trash her, day after day for months. And it IS a waste of time better spent on shows you actually like and want to support. Better to spend one's energy in a positive direction.

To that end I did make attempts to offer sincere criticism to Heather but it went on deaf ears. Other hosts, even ones from bigger/more popular shows, would at least thank me and offer a reply of some sort. Amy here is in another league in that regard. I feel as though I'm a part of the show's success and creation, like a shareholder, and that's fun and exciting. Everyone is different though and that's fine. I just prefer this way of doing things to MITD's.

I just called on my cell phone.  Virgin Mobile.  The volume was great with no interference, static, etc.  Sounded a bit muffled but that doesn't matter to me.  Overall it sounds good.

Tonight I'm doing open lines but this theme will be belief.

I'm going to solo the first half of the show with some ideas and observations. Some points to ponder.

We're going to dive deep into a scenario discussed last night (the idea of making contact with alien life), the nature of belief, and observations of other cognitive scientists. We will also discuss the ethical and moral implications to consider with the idea of transcranial magnetic stimulation and the ability to change thought patterns so much, that a person's belief or paradigms held in something could perhaps change or be erased entirely.

We might even talk a bit about the flat earth conspiracy phenomenon, and NASA sending a creationist to space.

I think I'll open up with a thought experiment. I'll ask you to share your beliefs with me too.

I'm glad you see it that way. As always to listeners, I see the show as your show. Everyone is a stakeholder.
Accepting feedback is any part of a participative planning process.
Learned a long time ago it's not easy to sit people down with unique ideas to plan if the planners become an authority figure, disconnected from the needs of the participants, giving something for participants to launch blame and discontentment at. Whether you realize it or not, you're a member of a participative planning process when you participate in this thread or send feedback through any other means. I'm both facilitator and participant though in this instance. So are you. If you're a stakeholder at any level, your opinions should be valued. All forms of broadcast media get it wrong when they don't give that level of credit to who really makes their show. I will never knowingly alienate or disconnect from my audience.
