Wondering how the ship gets data back to earth, such a tiny wafer and not much power to transmit. And a return journey would seem impossible with the laser system shooting from Earth.

Perhaps they are solar cells initially, then adapted?  :-\

Hi TigerLily! :-*
I declare starmtn001 Queen of this thread. Unless you prefer Gabcast as your domain

Here is a link to the press release on PCM memory that Amy mentioned:

and how grim is Pahrump?

Bobo is nowhere to be seen. Pahrump is not as dismal as it used to be. Haven't seen Art. He must not go out for Thai food.

I'll have to read that about 5 more times to pretend to grasp it.

No plans for a return trip on the wafer sats.

To clarify. I agree Amy is the Queen. You are right and wise

All this future talk and IBM XT reminiscences?  My love for tonite's show is accelerating like a laser-blasted wafer.

Oh!  Okay. ;)

I wonder if the wafer craft will transmit data back to earth via an on board laser diode. Would be very small. Still wonder about power though, would have to be akin to seeing the light from a laser pointer at several light years distance, I would think.

Hmm, had to re-click on the feed link, it went dead for a sec
