I wonder when Hoagland met H. G. Wells.
If he ever claims that i will hunt him down and punch him in the nose, and feel good about myself for doing it

Is there any photographic evidence of RCH knowing Asimov, Clarke and Roddenberry? Not calling him a liar but his stories about these great Sci-Fi people make out as if he was a guy who slept on their couches.

Doubtful.  There's not even evidence of Hoagie NOT having a beard.  Seriously...I find very little connecting Hoagie to anybody he claims to be connected to.  Doesn't mean he's lying...just means that the internet is vast and complicated.  I'm pretty sure there are hard copies somewhere.  ;)

There was something after Mars colonies and ray-guns?

Oh there are whole new genres of SF after 1980.

Seriously, there a conversation in the old RCH thread as to whether or not RCH had read any SF written after 1970, as his ideas about SF is somewhat dated.

I used to date Robert Plant.

Well, I woke up underneath him one morning at the Edgewater in Seattle.

We all do that when we have an appreciative audience -- human nature.

One thing about younger people is they document their lives on the internet. Older people are a lot harder to get actual facts on for that very reason. It's possible but it's a lot harder and takes a lot more work.

I don't care if this is true or not.  I choose to believe.

Morrison was such a influence to me when i was younger, but Jimi got me from playing 3 cord Beatles songs to actually learning how to play.

Whoa. I think I just suffered a major discontinuity. Confusing Herbert with Hubbard. That's what I get for reading that entire Trump thread today.
Help ! I've been Brain-raped.
Don't let Trump anywhere near your brain. For one thing he will try to steal your hair

I wonder if Hoagie's ever read Neuromancer or The Diamond Age or Altered Carbon, etc.

Trouble is that it's 2015. Robots as Asimov saw them are not viable now. They will not happen.

Absolutely.  Good point!  Not everything has been translated to the internet or easily accessible in general with the recent reduction in print documentation.  Things will fall through the cracks.

WTF is a positronic brain?

Dude, without a positronic brain Data would have just been another robot.

Didn't he also write a history of China amongs other things?

Don't know about the China book but he wrote about Shakespeare's work and a big book of limericks, just to name a couple.

What!? Why?  It's like you're some kind of sci fi author or something.  :D
