I have gushed about this book elsewhere.  It's the most fun book I've read in years.  I actually read it twice, which I almost never do.  Of course as an 80's kid who loves arcade games and all the related nerd culture it was a perfect fit.  But also was just such an original idea.  I hear it's going to be a Spielberg-produced movie.

(Note:  I read his follow-up book Armada and was not a fan though, unfortunately.)

Damn I was considering reading armada.

And yeah, it's a great book.

I wonder if Hoagie's ever read Neuromancer or The Diamond Age or Altered Carbon, etc.

I might try The Diamond Age on your recommendation (if that's what this is).  I tried reading a couple of Neal Stephenson's books (because I absolutely loved Snow Crash) but just couldn't get into them -- couldn't even plow through.  I'll check out The Diamond Age.

Aluminum has been studied for over 40 years as a substance that might be linked to Alzheimer's disease. However, there have been many conflicting findings.

Some studies show increased levels of aluminum in the brains of people with Alzheimer's disease, while others do not.

Research has not found an increased incidence of Alzheimer's disease in people with occupational exposure to aluminum.

Tea is one of the few plants whose leaves accumulate large amounts of aluminum that can seep into the brewed beverage. However, there is no evidence that Alzheimer's disease is more prevalent in cultures that typically drink large amounts of tea.

Unfortunately, earlier animal studies focused on one animal that is particularly susceptible to aluminum poisoning, thus leading to incorrect conclusions about the general effects of aluminum on the body.

OMG. I am so jealous. I never got closer than being under Jimmy Page

It was a journey, beginning with John Bonham.

The greatest scientist that ever lived envisioned all of this long before these writers did. In fact, they may have borrowed their ideas from him.

Heh Heh Heh

Well, I'm afraid to say I haven't learned anything about Asimov tonight except that he could think and type fast.  I think I'll be signing off.  Braaps all.

The story regarding Hoagie's Grandmother is heartfelt and kinda cool (regarding the concert).  However, I am sick of misinformation regarding disease, etc.  The aluminum cause of Alzheimer's is a myth.  There is no proof, and the current consensus is that aluminum does not play a major role in the development of Alzheimer's disease.  Aluminum is everywhere and we digest it constantly.  Too much to blame.
