Holy Christ! 'Effective immediate', announces Walter Cronkite, the 30-day rule is lifted!!! The Idiot describes it as a 'very old, very antiquated rule'. He claims it's it's because sooooo many people are trying to call the show. Some people have been trying to get through for two years. Tell that to Bateman, you lying fuck!

George is eliminating the 30 day wait period for callers because the show is getting too big.  That takes 'spin' to a whole new level.

I've listened to talk radio for years, back when it was dominated by local shows and later when the syndicated shows took over. The 30 day caller rule came about due to show popularity and large listening audience which led to increased audience participation. Too many calls for the show to handle- limit callers' access to give others a chance.

George and Co. must have a really low opinion of their listeners. Lifting the rule because it is "old and antiquated"? Because of the overwhelming number of calls? How does this make any sense?

All this tells me is that they are having trouble managing the caller segment of the show. People began to notice repeat callers despite the 30 day rule. I suspect that more challenging callers are trying to get through, some of them are near and dear to BG. It could be a lack of callers. One way of addressing these problems would be to eliminate the rule while spinning bogus reasons for doing so. The other is to develop a rota of trusted callers that they can have on regularly to avoid any embarrassing calls that challenge the guest or host. For shame!

Of course he also has been known to call female callers and guests "doll.' (he even called the widow of Daniel Faulkner--you know the policeman most likely killed by Mumia Abu Jamal--"doll")  It would give me the creeps if Noory tried that.  Standup comedians have more latitude.

I would believe that he watches the more popular on air talent for ideas to imitate. I'm not sure he understands that they have the personality to pull off these affectations. It doesn't work for everyone. I wonder if he practices and if anyone would tell him the truth.
