It's pretty pathetic.


Two years ago, I lost my grandmother. It was hard, because I was close to her, and she was more of a mother than my own mom (her daughter) ever was. She was like a mentor to me, and though we did not live near each other, we may as well have for as often as we spoke via email, on FB messenger, etc.   We knew she was ill (a lung thing she decided not to do anything about), but we made the most of our time.  She knew how I felt about her, so nothing was left unsaid.  When she died, I was sad. However, I used that to push me in a new direction in life. While I stopped some of the creativity I had (I consider myself having a mental block that I need to work through), her death has actually been a very positive thing.  I'm now doing something that I would not have been doing otherwise- something she would have been very proud of.

I know I'm not Heather, or vice versa. I know everyone grieves differently.  But you would think that maybe she would want to do this for Art- and if she honestly couldn't, be honest about that and tell Keith so that he could make the necessary decisions.   I have not seen one iota of her doing this. She's wishy-washy at best, and a manipulative witch at worst.  Neither works for me.

I realize that some people do not handle grief very well. They can spiral out of control when someone who was an important pillar in their lives is gone - usually a spouse, child, or another close relative. What seems so weird to me is that the amount of grief HW claims to be experiencing does not seem to equal the role Art would have played in her entire life. I guess he was basically her boss and mentor, but that was it - at least publicly.

My mom had the same job for almost as many years as I have been alive (35+ years). It's family-owned, so the boss never changed over those years (it was the dad in the family). My mom knew him and his kids well, I mean as well as you could as an employee. They knew my family on the same level, too. Hell, they sent a rather expensive wedding gift to my husband and I when we got married. Not something most employers would do.

The dad died unexpectedly several years back (he was a bit younger than Art, and I don't believe he was ill - it as one of those dropped over dead from a heart attack things). Everyone was shocked by it initially. My mom was sad, of course. But she didn't miss any work and she didn't spend weeks shut down in grief. That's about 10 times as long as HW has worked with AB in any capacity (and as far as we know, as long as she knew him on a personal level). So this weeks and weeks of shutting down seems excessive.

I still can't help but think that there's more behind the scenes shit that no one is saying or confirming that's contributing to her absence. I wonder if she really plans on "telling her side" at some point since she seems to be indicating that when speaking to her rabid followers. What platform would she use at this point? Facebook? If she has no intention of saying anything and plans to quietly slink away into the night with whatever AB gave her, then why say anything at all?

Apparently she has a six month window to ask for her job back.  I recommend she do so sooner rather than later.

All she has to do is grovel to Keith and she can be back on tonight. I think she's too proud to admit she was unreasonable.

Maybe he never told her... She seemed pretty out of touch with his universe, so maybe she was only aware of what AB wanted her to be aware of.

I think he wasn't giving her six months but just saying if she doesn't do the show on Monday he will find a replacement show and if she decides to do a show he will put her in somewhere on his line-up of shows.

Yeah, my husband thinks she was Art’s Twinkie in the Desert.  it’s not like it wasn’t beyond him to do something like that. We may never know, and for his widow and children’s sake, I hope it’s not true. It’s also just as likely that she (having probably not had a dad in her life) found that in him, and now feels robbed of what might have been. But to give no deference to his actual family? 

I can’t imagibe for one moment what this real truth of hers is. She could have said by now, on any platform of her choosing.

I notice a lot of this type of sentiment in the FB group. Are these people, who claim to be so committed to the HW cause, not paying any attention to what has been happening? Why are they assuming that KR has voluntarily given HW the boot? They make it sound like HW was begging to return but KR kicked her out on her ass and refused to let her on the air. KR has been extremely accommodating of her bullshit for weeks now. And HW has been quiet, as far as I can tell, so it's not like she's been feeding this shit for about a week.

Am I just missing something here? "Do not count Heather out just because Keith has elected to." KR didn't "elect" to, HW decided to stop showing up for work for 2 weeks and also demanded that KR not find a fill-in for her. You give that a try at your job and see what happens. Do you think others will act surprised and say they can't believe your employer pushed you out? No, they would say get off your ass and get to work, deadbeat. The lack of logic is mindnumbing.

As a side note, there have been at least 2 more people that left the group. I imagine HW's "audience" is still shrinking daily.

You would think knowing AB's family history, which has been widely discussed on Bellgab, that HW would realize AB is probably not the best replacement dad. But maybe she's just following in his footsteps in terms of how she hasn't shown any real concern for his current family.

You know, through all of this, if she was to step up and say "look, I had an opportunity and I fucked up. And I know that now, and I have grown as a person because of it." and sounded sincere, I would even be willing to give whatever new endeavor she has a test drive. Can't promise a long-term subscription to anything because I absolutely could not stand her on MITD, but if she got her shit together, did her own thing, and stopped putting on AB's voice, then maybe we can see if she really has the talent Art claimed.

But I doubt that day will come. She has shown no indication of swallowing her pride and acting like a decent human being.
