The phone now has a new ring.  The old ring was the classic cordless phone ring from the 80's.  :D

Sometimes he leaves it off the hook and you can hear the loud 'hang up' signal sent back by the telco, and other times he tries to muffle it with a pillow.

Well, we don't really know actually. We call it the telethon phone and it's been going since the show started. At first, he ignored it and took it off the hook. Then he answered it and there was no one there. And now someone from Bellgab tried to order a pizza. Who the hell knows man but it sure is funny.

Not that I'm condoning it but why isn't it ringing off the hook all show. Rossy you did not read this last post. This post does not exist.

There's been at least one episode of open lines every single week and it's always going to be either Wednesday or Thursday

This week's open lines sounded open and real to me.

That must be why I thought it was my phone tonight.  I actually got up and headed over to see who it was.

ok be honest bellgab, do you only listen for the phone ringing or do you listen for that then enjoy the rest of the show?

be honest, won't hurt my feelings

Yup, It's as much a part of the show as 'Braaps' are. Maybe more so now.

We've developed the legend that it must ring at the beginning. That is true.  Those who call later are not us and are lesser people.  ;)

Well initially it was real, but I think it's become a meme so Richard just lets it run. You'll often hear the off the hook tones when he shuts it up. Apparently there's a duck living in Richard's office as well.

Me...I like the show.  Phone or no phone.  The thing is, the personalities on this site have created this legend so to speak.  You know the deal.  ;)

Well since you said I was wrong for enjoying this show more than Art's show.... lol

But I usually drop out if it's a politics show or a subject I don't care about (like tonight). But I listen because I honestly enjoy RCH's insanity. The phone stuff, and other issues, just makes it so much better.

I listen for both. I'm not BS'ing when I praise Hoagland for his competent interviews when he goes into Dick Cavett mode. There have been some really brilliant interviews on this show.
