Really interesting. Richard's right on this. There is such a thing as the writer's trance where you write stuff that you look at later and have no idea how you did it.

I'm so happy Richard is having fun with this.....

So Nasa isn't tying Lovecraft to Pluto because his stories were broadcast to him from beyond, and Nasa's aware of this?

Yeah, he's really solid in this. I'm having a hell of a good time. Richard is smart, all he needs to do is be interested. He always is. And that makes him better than Dave.

Mild Bill

Houdini died in a hospital bed from peritonitis due to a ruptured appendix. No drowning involved.

I'm sorry but I feel strongly that Hoagie's bumpers should be all instrumental and/or ambient.  (and always lightly-peppered with random skype sounds)

IA with Lonevoice. I want this artwork on a shoe.

Haha!  Yes, I was thinking along those lines.  It would also be fun to see them try artwork from that gif you made of the Galaxy Lanes bowling alley...or maybe the Heavy Metal Hoagie gif.  I wonder if Richard would mind.

Yeah . . . .

But, RCH is reaching here. Lovecraft had an interest in astronomy and history. Mythology. He did a lot of research on Antarctica for At the Mountains of Madness and his other stories. It's fiction. Nothing else.

It digs back into Richard being RCH. When he's RCH, he's batshit crazy and has a narrative of his own. When he's in Dick Cavett mode, he's a completely competent interviewer. Sometimes he's RCH, other times he's Dick Cavett. Tonight the lines are blurry.

Here's an excellent documentary on Lovecraft:

Agreed and I was gonna link it. I adore HPL. I think he had the most realistic view of alien life yet.

How are you doing BTW? Feeling alright now?

I'm pretty sure CTHULU was mentioned in an X-Files episode

Thanks for asking. I was feeling a lot better. They gave me a Valium to relax. That said, listening to RCH right now, I think I might take a Xanax too . . . .

If some of you have been wondering about the commercial that is running, here is the indie go go, donations are essentially buying products. Check it out, fits perfectly with tonight's show.

For fuck's sake Richard, drop the pluto/mars shit when interviewing a guest that has no idea what the fuck you're talking about. It doesn't work. Save it for your folks. Think Dick Cavett mode.

Brilliant!

From their etsy page:

QuoteEach pair of shoes or cap are made to order to meet your every want and need. Horror movies are our passion, but don't think that we are just one dimensional; we are up for any challenge. We would need to know what exactly you wanted and what size (if buying a pair of shoes) and that's it.
