Perish the thought. No one here drinks that piss.

This is what I will be having tonight.

I don't think there's a clip for the braaps, but there is Gary, Richard's stalker who Richard took on one night but instead of disconnecting the stalker Richard accidently disconnected himself.

Unfortunately the archives are edited.  You can hear some stuff, but nothing like when it's live.  You must understand the history of Braaps.  It has evolved.  It started as the noise from a chair.  It's more than that.  It still applies but also is used for any other sound, mix up, or awkward moment.  It's also a greeting.  ;D

I have so much to learn. Anyway Braaaps to you all. I'm out.

Yeah, the 1st hour was a little rough, but they found a groove in the 2nd hour.

It's horrible to say, Gary's fucking nuts, but he called in one other night with "Richard you motherfucker, I'm going to sue your ass off!" and Hoagland laughed like hell. I think it was cut from the archives, but holy shit was that funny.

OK, I'm out. Last night was the last straw. I don't know why RCH  bothers having guests if he's going to be so rude and condescending to them.  Doesn't let them finish their thought much less their sentence. He says he has to stop them so the audience can follow along but it's only a pretense so he can focus an issue on himself, e.g., he used to work there or he knows some people there, etc. and then he scolds them as if they were a  recalcitrant delinquent. Had I been that guy last night (A great guest) I would've just hung up.
He's unabashedly uncontrollably egocentric. And quite brilliant.
Hopefully I will return after I cool off.

I didn't listen last night but one thing I noticed about RCH is that he's that guy (we all know one) that always cuts you off before you finish a thought. Most of the time they're not really listening just waiting impatiently to talk. He asks questions but doesn't let the guest complete the answer. He did it frequently during the Tim Russ interview. It was annoying.

That being said I think he does a bang up job interviewing people.  He has actual conversations with the guests going deep into the material and letting it happen organically

I don't know what the intro music is but for me (east coast) it really captures what 3am feels like.  In my younger days when running the streets we used to joke that 3AM was the time of night when things went from bizarre to surreal. I think it fits perfectly.
