MV/Liberace!

i went to artbell.com just a moment ago and took a look at the page source:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<title>Art Bell</title>

<script type="text/javascript">

  var _gaq = _gaq || [];
  _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-10306370-6']);
  _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']);

  (function() {
    var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true;
    ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https://ssl' : 'http://www') + '.google-analytics.com/ga.js';
    var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s);
  })();

</script>

</head>
<body bgcolor="#000000" text="#FFFFFF">
<BR>
<BR>
<BR>
<BR>
<BR>
<BR>
<BR>
<BR>
<BR>
<p align=center style="font-size: 78pt;">?</p>

</body>
</html>

you'll notice the section with some javascript includes this line:

_gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-10306370-6']);

as some of you might know, UA-10306370-6 is a google analytics ID.
a google search of that id returns this page:
http://spyonweb.com/enterprisemission.com

you'll notice they show the same analytics ID for enterprisemission.com, minus the -6 at the end.  that's hoagland's website, isn't it?  this is weird.

b_dubb

Probably Hoagland's web designer. It will be a heap of shit. Also ...

hoe gland. You're welcome

jazmunda

Nice detective work MV.

Your inner geek is glowing.

As b_dubb pointed out Art is probably using Hoagie's web designer.

Not sure if I'm thrilled with that because the Enterprise Mission website has a 90's website layout vibe to it. Having said that, we are nostalgia freaks for Art's 90s shtick so I guess it's appropriate.

Even if he did come back, and thats a big if, and he wont, I doubt it would live up to everyone's expectations. I really don't care anymore. Tired of thinking about the future plans of some retired guy in the desert.

Exactly how I feel after all his shitty teasing

Yes. I'm getting that too.

Can't wait for the return of Art Bell to the real internet.

Wow, my mood went from soaring to crashing in a record three seconds flat.

Will Art's new web site have animated gifs, blinking text and cats?

Ah, hell.  To be honest, I'd take even that.  Scrolling, even.

How much for one rib?

I don't care if the future site is 90'ish. It's not like listening to Art isn't traveling back to that time anyways.

I'm surprised (not) that he didn't have the scoop on this.

I'm sure he will pipe in now with some bullshit to make it seem that he is in the know about this new website and it's purpose.

Remember that Richard Hoagland's Enterprise Mission website started up when Art was still the main c2cam host over 10 years ago and Hoagland used Art's longtime webmaster Keith Rowland.
Of course when PremRat took over with its own c2cam website, they didn't use Keith Rowland anymore, but he couldn't as Hoagland's webmaster still to this day.
Art would probably use Keith again if he needed a webmaster for a website.

actually Hoagland still uses Art's original webmaster, Keith Rowland.

jazmunda

Following on from MV's detective work I have deduced that Keith Rowland is in fact the webmaster of the new Art Bell site.

Putting google analytics UA-10306370-6 (the analytics ID that MV ripped from the artbell.com source code) brings up the Spyonweb.com result for Enterprisemission.com - http://spyonweb.com/enterprisemission.com.

That site lists other sites that use the same google analytics ID. Those sites are all sites created by Keith Rowland and listed on his own webpage here: http://keithrowland.com/geek-for-hire/

Therefore Keith Rowland is indeed the webmaster for Art Bell's new website which of course could have been surmised by simply putting 2 and 2 together without wasting 6 minutes scouring the net.

...and, taking up a conversation for another thread, that's why posters on this site don't blindly fall for the likes of Noory, Wells, or Jones.  They are actually willing to put in six minutes of research time to verify information before they present it to their audience.  Nice work.

Absolutely kick ass  :D

What magic in the 90s.  A caller would tell Art he had taken a photo of Aunt Bessie's ghost on the front porch.  Art would tell the caller to email it to Keith Rowland, and within minutes the entire world could see the photo (of a lens flare).

Art and Keith were important parts of the growth of the Internet - particularly the close relationship between a talk radio host and the web page.

Excellent point.

Jesus Christ! Some nice detective work going on here

That is one of the many charms of Art's C2CAM in the 90s. Along with Ramona's impromptu contributions shouted from the living room and even those pesky cats running amok and creating havoc, it was great that Keith stayed up late and was the man on the spot to allow us to view, in real time, diagrams, images and all manner of content that was being discussed on the radio.

He was a pioneer for real time content providing. He really was an excellent webmaster.

Just a side note, I love how the geeks came up with such a fantastic term such as webmaster to describe themselves. Webmaster has such a powerful ring to it. "I am the Master of the Web! Ha Ha Ha! From this day forth you shall call me the Webmaster. Kneel before me you puny web surfers. Ha Ha Ha."

I first got onto the internet because of Art and C2C.  I started listening around 1997 and Art would always mention his website and it's contents.  Had to get online to see what it was all about.  Thanks Art!

I remember even years before the internet and websites became popular after Windows 95 was released, Art had a dial-up modem based BBS (Bulletin Board System) where you could download some images like Max the Crystal Skull.
Art also back then experimented with a direct dial-up modem connection for live small video streaming of him during the radio show, it would allow one person at a time for a couple minutes to watch him. :)

Art's website, artbell.com, has changed to a question mark.  Obviously, someone (keith rowland) is messing with us.   :o

coasttea

C2C is alright now but it will never be at the same level as when Art was hosting full time. When i listen to it now i feel its corporate but when Art was doing it (in the 90's) i felt like i was listening to two people having a interesting conversation.

Just my opinion.

Why in heaven's name, after having had the rug pulled out from under us countless times, would anyone be paying any attention to what is up at Art Bell's website or FB page? How many times do you have to hit yourself in the face with a hammer to know that it hurts?

Fair enough but I think it's safe to say that Artbell.com will be returning in the immediate future. What that content will comprise of and the frequency that it will be delivered is yet to be determined. At the very least I am hoping that Art uses it to make commentary on world events, paranormal and normal. Ideally I would love some type of podcast, preferably once a week but I'd take once a month. It would be wonderful if he could have a guest once in a while and even take callers. A guy can dream a little. Not getting my hopes up as they have been smashed many times and I'd hate to do a Rihanna.

I think having the website is better venue for Art over Facebook where his page gets hijacked by kooks, crocheting cat lovers and would be podcasters soliciting Art to be on their program.

Over maybe the person running his site before lost some files or just decided to delete the page one day. Maybe they want to put an ad for the Levitron top?

Who knows. I'm growing tired of all this speculation. Art isn't coming back. He quit how many times? His heart isn't in it anymore.

I'd love nothing more than to have Art do even a weekly show, but it isn't going to happen. Sorry.

On the Keith Rowland thing.. interestingly enough, I followed his Artbell.net Facebook page for years. He was absent. But recently he started posting Facebook posts again concerning UFOs and other information.. So Rowland has been 'activated.'

In a way I wish they'd bring back the old ArtBell.com website ... to get that same feel of the late 1990s again. But I know we've moved on.
Heck, maybe Art should consider making a Tumblr.

Hmmmm.... What's he planning...?

coaster

That question mark makes me think that even Rowland is confused as to what is going on with the indecisive Art Bell.
