Art Bell

I thought out of all sites, more people here would be less inclined to participate in shoe licking celebrity worship to the point of blind defense, wow.

Carry on, I'm sure this magical man(still love Art, have no idea what to think but I can't discuss it lol!) will change the color of a single character for you on a web page, or something.

Make your case. I for one have never been comfortable with the story of Ramona's death, or the quick to ensue new "love of his life". That being said, I have no proof... just the raising of a few neck hairs.

Agreed, I thought the whole thing was rather odd.

Ignoring all "comments" and "conjecture" looking at what happened after it is extremely alarming, whatever.
Whats so alarming about it? People here are pretty level headed and dont go around talking about some half-assed conspiracy theory involving a man's dead wife and then trying to accuse him of something that he didnt do. I'm sure you can dig up some seven year old threads over at Above Top Secret. be my guest.
Edit-some of you should read up on asthma and smoking..It tends to do some pretty bad shit. God forbid one of your loved ones die and then people start pointing fingers at you.
I want nothing more to do with it.

Listening to those shows when Ramona would come on, or hear her moving around in the background and he'd talk to her, little comments he made here and there... then the shows after she died.... he was clearly in love and loving life with her.  Then devastated.

There is nothing to uncover.

I know quite a bit about asthma, and smoking. I also know the stats on death from asthma.

This forum is for discussion and sometimes the discussions are not comfortable. I think your concern for falsely accusing anyone is a very valid concern. At the same time I do have issues with the timeline.

We aren't a court. None of us have any power to incarcerate anyone via these forums.

Perhaps you are right, I wonder what good will come from this? That being said, talking about it may help me understand more... mebbe not.

There is always something to uncover... sometimes it is something more about us than them.

But, I like to think I am a reasonable guy. I have never been comfortable with the story. Maybe that is all me. But I don't mind telling people here of my uncomfortability.

What I will say is, tragic loss... we all deal with it in different yet similar ways. Art's past relationships add another layer of complexity to this story. Did Art have some nefarious behind the scenes activities... I very highly doubt it... scratch that, I don't in a million years think anything of the kind. But do I think Art easily moved on? yep I do.

Have you ever listened to Coast? ??? ?? Holy shit the irony.

I've read the facts, it's definitely "worthy of consideration"
Any celebrity-related death gets microscopic scrutiny from officialdom.  Bell's personal life may be a debris field, but this is just malicious rumor with no traction whatsoever.

That may sum it up very well.

Juan

When Art received his award, his new wife by his side, he still spoke lovingly of Ramona and her value to the show.  Grief expresses itself in many ways.

As for Ramona's death, I have asthma and I'm warned by my doctors that it is a chronic, incurable disease that could kill me one day.  I take precautions, but it's possible something could blow in through my window, trigger an attack, and I could drop dead at the keyboard.  I don't find anything odd about the description of Ramona's death that Art gave.

Quote from: VtaGeezer on June 21, 2013, 12:29:44 PM  The offbeat genre was fresh and fascinating in 1992 but 20 years of hearing the same guests repeating the same tired BS, with new material or findings rarer than a fresh Bigfoot turd, has gotten really old and tedious.

The shelf life of Bell's original quirky C2C stuff has been passed.....

If Bell did return to radio, he'd have to find a new way with new subject genre and a new roster of guests. I don't see it. He seems quite content with his fellow nocturnal recluses on the 10 meter band. Sheesh, what a way to spend your life after banking a fortune!  To quote Wolf; "You can never go home"....

Nailed it Geezer!

Art Bell is done.  His 'time' has come and gone.  He's moved on.

We have not moved on ....... stuck in the past, we gab endlessly about what was ...... color of an exclamation mark?  'Deep', very 'deep'........

Great! I love censorship

I'm not in a position to censor anyone.  I was merely trying to convey the fact that what you were suggesting gives a whole new meaning to the word inappropriate.  People posting that kind of crap can be sued for libel.

Someone I know told me he thought something was fishy about his wife dying, which I didn't even know about. Today I read about it. Ignoring all "comments" and "conjecture" looking at what happened after it is extremely alarming, whatever.

Wonderful.  Explain that in court when you're being sued for libel.  Idiot.

Everyone deals with grief differently.   Losing a loved one causes unimaginable grief and mental anguish. You have no idea what the man went through when he lost his soul-mate.  Absolutely none.  None of us do.

This discussion is inappropriate and shameful.

So whoever doesnt agree with your theory that art killed his wife or some other asinine theory is a "shoe licking celebrity worshipper"? Go fall face first onto something sharp. Also, fuck you. Thanks.

I hope that the next color on art's page is red. It was pink then white. I hope it goes from red to white then blue.

From reading the below thread, I think my question may be a bit our of place here but I will ask nonetheless: Why is Fine Art (via Tune-In Radio) no longer streaming? It stopped streaming about a week ago. Anyone know why?

First off, and I know you aren't quoting me, I didn't say anything about Art doing anything heinous. I don't for a second think that. I am suspicious of anyone using the the term soul mate and then moving on in what amounts to a very short amount of time.

Perhaps the term was used without much thought, or perhaps to convince others of some deep abiding love. If I were to make any statement about Art's relationships it would be about his lack to have significantly deep relationships. As evidenced by several marriages, an almost complete disconnect with his children from wife one, or was it wife two.

Back to this soul mate thing, if one considers that a realistic possibility, then our lives have less control because we can only be truly happy by finding that one special person. One that was molded to meet our emotional, intellectual, and spiritual experiences. So he either believes there is only one for him or he doesn't really buy into the soul mate thing. Romantic it is, it is also fantasy.

Is artbell.com/net weird for anyone else? I've now got an article about an over-sized cat being dropped off at a shelter, cat cameras, CNN, and other strange shit.

What the hell is going on here!?

Gawddam Clear Channel!!!!!!!! *shakes fist at sky* They are the the greediest money grubbing dollar whores in all of the world!!! Well, at least it feels that way as I cry real tears here. Do you know where else I may be able to hear Art? His old shows have been removed from the C2C website, have they not?

It isn't any of your business.   Are you too stupid to understand that?  Or, to bring it down to your level, are you to fucking stupid to understand that?

How a person, any person, handles the grief and mental anguish that accompanies the death of a loved one is none of your business!

You can do a search for art bell on shoutcast. There are usually a few stations replaying old coast shows.
