Are they fucking with us? How many more punctuation symbols until we get some real content.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an interrobang.  A semi-colon would insult me.

That question mark makes me think that even Rowland is confused as to what is going on with the indecisive Art Bell.

so could we extrapolate that if the question mark conveyed confusion, the exclamation point should convey excitement and possibly urgency?

I'm both fairly young, and new to the woes of the Art Bell fans... so still have it in me to hope

What next?  Is this going to pop-up?

Now I know where we can stick that exclamation point.

Now I miss the question mark...

He could at least change the font color of the question mark to spice things up..

It appears the exclamation point is now yellow when it was white before? What does this mean, caution????  :o

If you are make the exclamation mark pink.

With the exclamation point clearly someone is having fun.. But it would be better if we were in on the joke...
More than likely it is Keith that is screwing around with the website. Art gave him a headsup but wont care about it until actual content is posted. Back in the day Keith could be abit of a dick when the mood struck him. If nothing else it does show someone is paying attention. And it is a way to generate interest and keep eyes on the site. Word of mouth worked for them before. Why not now?

The saddest thing of all is I went to see that yellow exclamation mark for myself. The site is generating hits with no content posted. That speaks volumes about how hungry the audience is.

I would like to second the pink exclamation point. It would be great if there were an effect from Coastgab's mass consciousness experiment to change the color of that punctuation.

I disagree. In Arts book, he says almost the opposite of this. People have accused Art of being a recluse (that's the exact word he used actually) but he has insisted that he is not. Art wanted a big overnight radio network. He changed the name from "West Coast AM" to Coast to Coast AM" and moved the time slot of the show to appeal to east coast stations.

However, Art has always been wary of big radio executives. The people up top who wanted to commercialize the show and make it as profitable as possible, even if it meant dumbing down the on air product. Many successful media personalities (Johnny Carson comes to mind) fought constantly with management.

I don't think Art sold the show to premiere directly (perhaps I'm wrong on this). He sold the show to a smaller company, which in turn was eventually bought by premiere. At that point, Art said "I'm outta here" . He knew he couldn't win this time in the radio corporate game.

Art and Rush Limbaugh are twin souls in this regard. They both wanted to be big, but on their terms. Only difference is Rush likes the high life. Art wants to be big, but stay the same ol' Art.

My vote is to change it to baby-poop brown.

Change it to a photo of a pizza roll!

That'll ward off Norrys.

Incredible. Over 10 years and several pulled rugs later, and we're actually excitedly talking about the meaning of punctuation that we're not even certain can be attributed to Art Bell.

Listen to me: Art Bell is a rich, old man with a young wife and young child. He has toyed with this pipe dream of a return to radio for years; and it was never true years ago when he was younger and still confident of his chops. As for me, he could go on a worldwide broadcast and say, "I'm returning to radio tonight!", and I wouldn't believe it until his voice came across the air at the appointed time.

So let's stop it, okay? Just stop it.

The Fine Art Stream (http://www.fineartstream.com/) had to call it quits today due to potential legal action.  That's really too bad.

I'm no Limbaugh fan, but comparing Art B to him is a fantasy. After 20 years, Limbaugh still maintains and cultivates his success, his earnings, and controls a daily 3 hour show.  Bell, by comparison, chose instead to ditch the pressure and his loyal audience, snatched a bag of money and ran back into his cave.  Fine; its his choice. But jeez, the excuses that people make for him are just denial.

i agree.  you can't really compare their places within the talk radio industry.  hell, i would never have FOUND art without rush.

I guess I was very lucky. I found Art because of insomnia and nothing else to do. One of a few serendipitous moments in my life.
