I think I see the secret message here.  That Native American/Indian probably represents Robert Morningstar, an old guest of Art.  The circles represent the circles of life.  What was, will be again.  (i.e. Art's return)

I'm holding out for LMH's next monthly report.  I'm sure nothing will happen before then.  Hoagland always sees something that's really not there so if he chime's in about Art, I KNOW there's no hope.

I have no expectation of ever hearing Art do a live broadcast of any sort again, including podcasts.    It would make me ridiculously happy to hear Art’s presence on the airwaves again, but it’s more likely that I’ll win the lottery.  A year ago, it wouldn’t have occurred to me that Art would be communicating on facebook, twitter, or dusting off his long-dormant website.  Obviously, Keith doesn’t work for free.  Art’s always been careful with his money, and paying Keith to do something with that website probably involves more than just moving punctuation marks around or posting occasional youtubes.   My best guess today is that Art will be doing some blogging, maybe about current events.  On the other hand, if Art just wants to post pictures of cats, I’ll still be glad to know he’s around and engaged in the world.  Art Bell earned my lasting respect with his considerable talent and skill in a genre I especially appreciate, talk radio.     He provided me with many years of free entertainment of such quality I would gladly have paid for it.   If Art wants to spend his twilight years sending out little digital messages in a bottle, “stay tuned…stand by” and nothing more than that, then my wish for him is that it gives him a fraction of the enjoyment he’s given me.  And, yeah, I’ll probably stay tuned and stand by for as long as he’s transmitting.

Maybe he taught himself how to code his own website. That would be a pretty big deal for the person learning to do it. Especially after a certain age (people tend to get more stubborn). People can use a lot of programs that do the grunt work of coding but a select few still choose to learn how to do it from the ground up as a hobby.

My first post and would like to offer my thoughts on Art's future endeavors.  I was an avid listener of local talk radio host Mike Murphy in Kansas City.  He was forced out when the right wing radio ghouls took over the airwaves and was essentially never heard from again.  Terrible waste for both we listeners and for Mike (who once hosted Bell's show!). Mike died not long after being forced in to retirement and soon after his wife died.  Always felt he'd have been better off back on the air.  Hard to see Art make the same mistake.

Has anyone considered this!!! Simultaneously with setting up this crude website, Mr. Bell is completing his memoirs including all of the dish on Premier.  It may be completed.  Along with blogging or podcasting, he is going to use these social media tools to once more promote himself and his book.

This makes him smile.  He is following his First Amendment rights of freedom to speech.  Also, notice the smiley face is on its side. You can rotate it many ways.

The website introduction is mysterious.  The hypothetical picture that you refer to would be reassuring.  There you have it, mysterious and reassuring, Art in a rocking chair in his office with one hand on the ham mike and the other petting one cat.  A cat in the lap and the other on the back of the rocker hanging on for one of his many cat lives.  As he rocks Art thinks, "Noory, damned him, all of this new age cat crap, half assed preparedness, not a cat man at all, gave the dog away, the only thing furry on him is that moustache, fake hair, slurring Elvis, but I am wealthy, have a wonderful new website, a tell-all book, a beautiful daughter, a hot wife, and with this picture reassuring my fans.  The ship is at harbor."

The July 4th launch was "assumed" by some folks here (and probably elsewhere), never "promised" by Art or anyone on his behalf. Therefore, I was not expecting a launch nor was I disappointed that it did not happen.

That SOMEthing *is* happening seems to be pretty apparent. All of the previous false starts began on Facebook with "stay tuned" but did not proceed beyond that, except for Art to eventually say "something almost happened, but...not now".

Reclaiming the domain, putting something new up there, however primitive, and having it respond to guesses and speculations on this very forum; combined with another social media outlet and the man's own admonition to keep an eye on the site, should be enough for anyone to at least give the benefit of the doubt.

That it's not happening on a "schedule" expected by some folks here is not Art's problem.

I don't know what to expect. A blog isn't Art's style. He's a talker, not a writer. I know he's had a book or two out, but I'm also pretty sure that he dictated those and someone formatted and shaped them for him.

I certainly don't expect a podcast, even a live one. A return to radio is too much to hope for and I don't want to be let down again.

I'm going to hesitantly guess that it will be relaunched as a source for merchandise, including Bell-hosted episodes of Coast and Dreamland. I will make the case that this has something to do with the Fine Art stream being shut down, his arguments with Premier about Somewhere In Time, and the fact that he never did "tell the real story". A deal was made.

When I've asked him about the past episodes on his Facebook page, he has responded that there are tapes going back to the 80s, and that he at least partly owns them.

We will see what happens next.
