I think Art doesn't want to deal with the issues. If George steps down (which I think is appropriate) then I'm pretty sure he would be happy to shove the curtains aside and take back the show.

I wouldn't be too certain of that. It's a lot different doing a radio program when you're pushing 70 than if you're in your 30s or 40s.

No kidding.  He endorsed Noory as a host, seemed to genuinely like Ian and Knapp, Wells is only on once a week.  Seems to me the only major change was Art leaving, which as far as we know, was his doing.  What gives Art?  Did you jump or were you pushed?


EDIT: just went back to the beginning of this thread, and read my own posts and others, and it is clear he quit (amazing what age and booze does to the memory).  Seems like an awful long time for him to start speaking out, though. Something else has to have happened or changed.

I really suspect it was last night's show. Ghost To Ghost was Art's baby, and he swore it was listener-driven with no guests. Noory ruined it, and I think Art just snapped, finally ready to write on his Facebook page what we've all be waiting to hear: he thinks the show sucks, and he thinks Noory sucks, too.

I wonder if Noory will use Art's name in his farewell line-up.

I also wonder...oh not really but a girl can dream...if Noory will be on at all. Perhaps he will call in, um, sick.

the mouse has a great point... i think it last nights crap must have made something snap in art.  Now i want to listen in tonight just to see if anything is mentioned or if there's a change in the ambiance... I'm sure Noory and the people that work on the show have been made VERY aware of Arts comments.

George knows he sucks.  He knows that everyone knows.  But it's something else again when someone brings it up publicly or to ones face. 

George must have a pretty thick skin by now, maybe he truly doesn't care as long as the checks keep coming in.  Maybe not being all that bright is a blessing.

It will be interesting to see if he is at least a little shaken on the show tonight.  Probably not.

I don't listen to Snoory or Coast to Coast anymore. Can you elaborate as to what was so terrible about it. The host (obviously)? The stories? The way the host responds to the stories? I could use my imagination but any info would be great.

I wish I knew why we all , still , care about Art , he was a great Host ; but I still think it is about the show C2C, sorry he seems
to be unhappy with the way things have worked out for him, the only solution is to come back, or find that Time machine he seemed so desparate to find, go back , do it all again and never leave ,I think any problems he has with C2C can easily be
solved, STOP listening to the show!!!

Art was great. I think they should have ended it when he retired, and named it George Noory Show. And I would bet that they did not because without Art Bell's name the show is nothing. I dislike the commercials and the products. The Home Computer work thing, this  sounds like a rip off to me. And the herbals sound like snake oil.

And the same subjects are getting lame. Out of Body, remote viewing and 2012 are rehashed over and over. And the bumper music sucks. The show is a sham.

A local talk show host here in Columbia SC was fired yesterday. His name was Kevin Cohen from WVOC. He could do a better job than George Noory. And WVOC is a Clear Channel station. I will bet it had something to do with free speech. Michael Savage won his law suit in Court to be a free agent a few weeks ago. I hope he returns to talk radio soon. Local hosts seem to be a thing of the past. this canned stuff from syndication is horrible.

Noory doesn't come up with imaginative names or titles.
He renamed the show when he took over 10 years ago to 'Coast To Coast AM WITH George Noory"
and earlier this week on Halloween night, the announcer after breaks would say "this is GHOST TO GHOST with George Noory"

No of course not, they ignore facebook since there are many fakes.
Noory doesn't want to mention Art Bell at all nowadays.
If a caller asks about Art, Noory just replies as far as he knows everything is fine with him and that Art is winding down, retired.

I agree wholeheartedly, and it's one of those "uncomfortable facts" that gets overlooked far too often. Yes, Noory sucks, that's academic...but we wouldn't have Noory if Art hadn't sold out. But commerce destroys art(hardy har) and C2C is the living proof.
