i just discovered... this account is also Gnoory.

MV, did he want his johnny account deleted too?  Or just the gNoory one?   My goodness, it took ol' johnny/Jorch/Dave only 4 months to figure out this is an Art Bell site, and that a George Noory Sucks board might consist of people who think he, well, sucks?  Hahaha.

Turned the show on for 2 minutes and turned it off. After listening to Bell this show seems even more politically slanted.

I don't care if you believe something one way or the other, but if you are a radio show that isn't under the premise of politics, then you better make at least a token attempt to show the other side of arguments that could be seen as politically charged. Or figure out a way to be innovative and creative and let the audience come to you.

When a country is largely split politically, and you just cater to one half, you are just playing to safe and are going to get stale. I should say MORE stale. Unless you are a political show, it just comes off as incredibly lazy in my eyes.

Bell challenges the callers, guests, and his listeners. It isn't even remotely close. The disparity between the two shows is even greater than I thought it would be when I was basing it off of nostalgic memories of Bell's shows.

Noorynoid

Speaking of great memories, one of my favorites was the usenet and alt.fan.art-bell. A total laugh riot, it was as addicting as Art's show was. Most of the links are dead now but the content is still there.

Noory just mentioned that Linda Howe will be on with Art Bell next week.
Linda is now telling about when she first became Art's guest back in the early 90s on his show "Area 2000" that later became "Dreamland"

Roy Hinkley

That was funny too, because Noory asked her when was the last time she was on with Art, and then she goes into a mini history of all the time she was on with Art.

Morgus

I don't think Linda Howe has been on with Art Bell since Noory took over, 10+ years ago.
She has been on with Whitley Strieber on his internet Dreamland show during that time however.

You just touched on one of my sore spots about Noory, RedMichael.  Years ago when I still thought poor old Noory was just sadly misinformed but well-intentioned, I would send him emails trying sincerely to explain to him that he didn't have to lose half his audience by making Coast into a political show.  I told him he could have the whole country as listeners if he would just stick to the paranormal.

Ah well.  For a Hater, I sure did try to help that feeble-minded narcissist.

He's winding down, Folks.  He's winding down.  :P

The best thing about SiriusXM besides Art being back, is that I have lots of other non-Norry things to listen to now.

thaa phukk did you people DO to this guy?
Funny story MV... It seems that some of the people here were honest with GNoory and offered advice on how best to improve his show.  And, oddly enough, most of the posters in the GNS thread did believe that there was quite a lot of room for him to improve.  (This may be due in part to the fact that they were posting on a thread dedicated to chronicling the mans decade long suckage.)  ;D

*** If the GNoory personality was not Noory himself, but rather somebody else posting as damage control prior to the return of Art (as some on this forum have speculated and seems to be possible given the timing of GNoory's arrival and departure) that staff member who cooked up the scheme really out to be fired.  If it could have backfired any worse i would be shocked (the whole episode ending with Art handing GNoory his own head on a platter by letting the world know that no apology nor explanation ever arrived VIA email.)

According to Marshall Masters  Nibiru as actually a sun that's sneaking around the solar system so have your camera ready because sometimes it’s there and sometimes it isn't and those that don't want us to know the truth have killed people and there’s moisture in the air which makes it even harder to see...this other sun.  Years ago the asylums were emptied and some of those patients became homeless, and some became politicians, and some became Comcast customer service representatives, and the rest became Nibiru enthusiast.  God bless them.  George asked LMH  why there aren't that many alien abduction reports these days, and LMH said she was getting plenty.  It's you, George, that's not getting those reports because you're not taken seriously.  If it’s not a BOGO at the 7-11, you don't really want to know about it.

Premier thought the "nice generic guy" could pull it off, but he has been an utter failure in corporate mediocrity.
He's been on for 10+ years.  I think that qualifies for success in corporate mediocrity.

MV... you don't normally delete account posts though right? we'll still have the gnoory posts here for posterity?

How can civilization learn from it's past mistakes when they've been deleted from the George Noory Sucks thread?

I'm surprised any of you folks are still listening to old tangle tongue since your god returned to the airwaves. Congratuations, you got your wish. I'm sure that I'll never get my wish - listening to George Knapp more than twice a month - because he actually has a real life apart from C2C. He's a real journalist, with a real career. He probably only does C2C for extra fun money, and a chance to do stories his tv station won't let him cover. Can you imagine Knapp boring his listeners talking about what his wife did that day? No you can't, because he would never do such a silly thing. Knapp was the only C2C host who never mentioned the phony end date of the Mayan Calendar scam, that even a novice astrologer could recognize as a crock of shit. Back in the 90's I listened to Bell almost every night, and he harped on that scam almost as much as he harped on Y2K. Anyone who listened back then knows that the most boring huxster guests; Hoaxland, Lame Dames, Fat Boy Hogue, and robot-voice Linda (who also pushed the M.C. scam) are guests Snoory inherited from Art. Now I understand they're all lining up to be on Art's new show, just like old times.

When Art interviewed real people like Mel, Coast was fantastic. A good interviewer (and Art is the best) talking to a regular Joe, who is only interested in telling his amazing true story, and not interested in making money from it, is talk radio at it's best. I've listened to talk since I could turn a radio dial. I listened to Art when he was out of Las Vegas in the 80's. The truth is that most of the time C2C has been one big infomercial. I was living in the Seattle area during the 'alien in the freezer hoax'. When half of Seattle knew the hoaxer was a gas pump jockey in Seattle, who had boasted for years that he was going to pull off an alien hoax, Art was still letting him on the air to hawk his book. I think Art knew full well it was a hoax, and enjoyed keeping it going. I'm not interested in any story that did not actually happen. Sean David Moton is another proven liar that Art gave a ton of radio time to. If I wanted to hear fiction, I would turn on the boob tube - if I had one.

Yep, listening to Ian was just like listening to a crotchety old woman, especially when he would get pissy with his guests. he argued more than he interviewed. I can't believe I wasted my time talking to that idiot twice on the air. Thank God he is gone for good (maybe).

It's pathetic and desperate that Jorch is still signing off thanking Bell for being part of a show that he is not actually part of. I think they're deperate up at the top, as well, and have telegraphed that to their affiliates. Shortly before Art returned, the affiliate I listen to C2C on, started running promos for C2C all day long. Before this they never ran a promo for Coast at any time of day.

Not really surprised by this, but George knows he sucks.  He knows we know he sucks.

Did he really think he was going to convince anyone of something he doesn't even believe himself?

Try as he may?  Going back as far as his first appearance on Coast, when has he 'tried' or put effort into anything?  Saying he doesn't give a hoot is giving him the benefit of the doubt - if his current endeavors are the result of him doing his best, that's truly pathetic.

I like how he admits that this is an "AB" site.

As if there are any sites that were not openly hostile about Noory's hosting duties.

The question must be asked.
Are there any sites like this for Noory ?
I know there are subboards on sites but ...

Just the ones that Bateman tried to get him to go to when he called in and got on the air.

Knapp is at the top of my list of great interviewers along with Art but hey - John Lear? Bob Lazar? He's had his share of dubious guests, too, but like Art he makes it interesting. Personally, I don't believe there's a soul catcher crystal tower on the moon, but I enjoy hearing Lear spin his yarn in an 'old buddy' talk with Knapp. However, I'm under no illusion that this guy is anything other than a purveyer of BS.

Art has a different relationship with his audience than Knapp. Knapp is an intensly private about his personal life, Art shares. So what? People want to hear about Yeti, people who listened to Art's stories were shocked when Ramona died. It's part of who Art is to share bits of his life. I'd rather hear that than another ridiculous story about almost being kidnapped in Mexico. And I'm not sure I want to hear about Knapp's life, much as I like him. That's just not who he is.
