Looks like John B. Wells nabbed Jesse Ventura as his guest for this Saturday night, got him before Noory could to talk about his new JFK conspiracy book?

There is some interesting stuff coming out in our print dailies and local blogs where I live for the 50th anniversary of the JFK assaination.  One of the nearly 80 year old trauma surgeons attending the president that day at Parkland said conclusively that he felt there was an anterior  frontal calvarial entry gunshot  wound hidden by the hairline, as well as a posterior cranial GSW.  Other interesting comments, include accounts by  eyewitnesses to meetings between Oswald and Ruby in Ruby's strip club, weeks before the assasination.  Since these folks were aware of other potential eye witnesses meeting untimely demises, they laid low for years.

Noory sucks so bad that even when Arts show is over, I still find myself tuning into an old Art show instead of the current Dave Noorie disaster. What a tool. This may have already been discussed, but did anyone see him on the view? He was waving his hands and arms around like a crazed buffoon. You just know the government saw it and was think, you see!! THIS is why we don't tell y'all anything!!

There is nothing wrong with listening to C2C when Dark Matter concludes each evening. Its kinda like back in the old days (80's)
when they would play a suspense film on late night TV followed by a cartoon.  As long as the encounter is brief.

I either listen to DM for a second round while working, or do exactly the same and pull up an old dreamland show to cover
the rest of the evening. Its not surprising I am the only one lol. Been C2C free for about 3 years now. No Art = no interest.

Me too.  Ten years of putting up with George, being his buddy, buying his crap, literally.   Feeling bad that he worked on the holidays.  God, he's like a Mother with those guilt trips.

You think that's bad ?
Try having a Mother like mine.
When my wife up and left me ( and took EVERYTHING OUT of storage and our apartment with a U-Haul, it all suddenly became hers and she sold it ), I was attending college and getting pretty good grades.
I took out a student loan and bought a moped so I could get around.
Then I had to go find a job and quit school because MY Mother told me that she would pay the difference between what I had been making at the job I had been working at and if I cut hours.
My boss then said he needed me full time and fired me.
She gave me the equivalent of one months wages and stopped.
So ... time passed. I was working 7 days a week after she got me a car and stuck me with the payments. It was a Nissan and was a lemon from the day it left the showroom.
With working so much and moving back to the SF Bay Area, I forgot about the student loan.
After so much time ( during which part of it I became homeless twice ), collection agencies started calling my sister and brother and law and hounding them. I've only heard this from my Mother's side and never from my Sister.
According to my Mother, my brother in law got so stressed out that he had a stroke.
He was a beer alcoholic for years.
Then he developed alzheimer's and was suffering from that for about 2 years.
He died and was buried last weekend and on Tuesday I called my Mother to see how she was and she tole me that * I * was the reason he had a stroke and I guess by inference the reason that he died.
I have the archtypical Jewish Mother.
In spades.
And maybe the rest of the deck as well.
I never know how she's going to act when I call her or see her.
That's also why my girlfriend dreads going over there to see her too.
She's always been judgmental about anything I do going back to childhood.
I keep thinking that she'll be a nice person because at times she's pleasant and nice, but G*d I hate the damned woman.
I have tried to not contact her at times and have had periods where I didn't talk, call or write her for a year, but she will find ways to contact me come hell or high water.
When I was 18, I moved out of her apartment and got a mailbox at a mail service and told no one where I had moved to.
She knows a lot of influential people in San Francisco.
So there I am one night in my new apartment with the lady I was renting a room from when suddenly there's a knock on the door.
I look out and there's two guys in black suits, black ties and black hats.
This was long before I ever heard about MIB's.
So I open the door and they show me their identification and say :

" We're from the FBI. Call your Mother. "

I was flabbergasted !

Turns out she knew the Special Agent in Charge of the San Francisco office of the FBI and he sent 2 agents out to track me down.

You can't hide from the FBI I guess.

If I had her contacts, I'd probably be Governor or something.
Its weird.
She and my Father is why I want to be a rich orphan in my next life.

Yeah, but with Snoorge it's more like Crappy Tunes than Looney Tunes.
On second thought, maybe its Looney Tunes AND Crappy Tunes as well.

Does anyone know if Coast to Coast's advertisers have dropped off, or what an actual listener-ship number is to-day with the return of the 'real' host ...... ?

What is the status of George Noory at this time?  Is his hosting job in jeopardy at this time?  John Wells as a possible re-placement for George?

What's going on at Premiere these days ..... ?

Quote from: valdez on October 04, 2013, 04:44:01 AMGeorge and Tom found time to chit chat about the "Beyond Belief" show.  Evidently Tom is in charge of that also and George asked him how he came up with the name of the show.  Tom said he wanted to convey the idea that "unbelievable things" would be discussed.  Tom also said he's planning on taking calls during the show.   That George couldn't be bothered with coming up with a title for his own show is curious, but not surprising; that producer Tom can be so predictable, and unimaginative, and lame, and employed, is stunning.
Tommy came out with the "Beyond Belief" part of the video show title while Noory came up with the "With George Noory" part...  :P
Tommy was probably watching one of the old "Beyond Belief" TV show reruns (hosted by Star Trek's Jonathon Frakes) on a late night cable channel one night and the idea came to him.

Nah, ratings wouldn't be measured noticeably for months in the future I bet.
A little before Art announced his Sirius show, Noory claimed he had signed a new long, long term contract with Premiere Radio, saying that he would remain as the main host of c2cam out until men land on Mars...

I can just see Tommy, knocked-back in his worn-out Barcalounger, nodding off into a Twinkie induced haze, his remote dropping from his sticky hand, as Frakes comes on the tube.  Another "original idea" pops into his head, once again.  ;)

I see Noory tweeted this yesterday at the c2cam twitter page:
"I was in Vegas this past weekend to see Don Rickles and Robert Davi"

So Noory is trying to invade 'Vegas as well as LA now and try to chum up with more has-been celebrites?
Noory also mentioned his 'buddy' Pat Boone recently as well...

nah, Wells just fills in with Noory takes a Friday off, about once a month or so when he is traveling to some convention event where he can make some extra cash on the side from "meet&greets"

Quick Karl

Honest question - who would want to meet and greet Jorch?

Nah, Friday nights the guest is only on for one hour or two.

No to Dave, yes to Art.  Carry on.

I haven't been listening to Dave for a few weeks now.  However the other night, after listening to Art's fun show with LMH, I tuned into C2C out of curiousity.  Dave had a cool guest on, this science writer who has a book out about the hunt for exoplanets.  I was able to listen for awhile, since the topic fascinates me, and the guest was quite engaging I thought.

But after a little while, the old Dave cringe-inducing patterns once again interfered with my enjoyment - asking a question that was just explained by the guest literally minutes earlier, or totally misunderstanding some basic premise of the conversation, or switching topics jarringly to the whatever the next 3x5 card demanded.  The guest was remarkably accomodating, trying not to point out what a bad interview it was, and trying to not make Dave feel embarassed about it, but no guest should be treated like that.

What a waste.  That's what originally brought me here - that experience of low-hanging fruit being left unpicked, all the great conversations that might-have-been.  Listening to Art's new shows (along with some classics), with his intellectually curious style, and rapport with the guests, is just making what's left of c2c harder and harder to listen to at all.

Now try going from Art to Snoory... What a punch in the balls  :-\   I went from enjoying every night with so many great guests
and even greater interviews like with Al Bielik and Art's ability to engage in a technical conversation, thats where he caught
my undivided attention. I was impressed to say the least. Then that rambling buffoon took over and it was like that hot girl that dumped you, gut wrenching loss we all came to know as snoory. At least Art is now back, and I look forward to every interview knowing full well that the next time he drops out, it will most likely be his last. Lets just hope that is many years from now.

Here is the issue with guests being kind to Noory. Being on C2C is the most publicity they will ever get by far. They can't afford to do anything but kiss his ass. Sadly, I think he knows this sometimes. There was a terrible guest on but she was bad because she was so nervous. Instead of maybe calming her down, talking to her during a commercial break or whatever, Noory starts chiding her. He is literally saying "You got to do better than this or we can't have you on the show." In his weasel/whiny voice. This of course made her worse.

So I don't buy this old fashioned, gee golly persona he projects. I see an insecure man who has no motivation to get better at his job because he is locked in. He had no competition and he knew that if anyone wanted to be anybody in these fringe fields, they had to go through him. I just hope Bell takes off enough to the extent that maybe a guess doesn't HAVE to do C2C. Or maybe Noory HAS to try and get better.

This is why I despise Noory. In contrast, a while back Knapp had an elderly lady on who had a negative Near Death Experience. She was nervous and her voice was naturally quavery but he let her speak and she was fascinating, one of my favorite interviews with him. She got better as she went along, or maybe I became used to her voice, but it didn't matter. It was a good, informative interview because she was treated with respect.

How many times has holier than thou Noory say he doesn't confront his guests, it isn't his thing? Well, partly that's defending himself against any kind of criticism about the medical quacks he brings on, but it also points to what a gutless wonder he is if he has to chide a woman who is nervous but lets some guy with a name in the alternative medicine field, i.e. quackery, rattle on about baking soda. Beyond being an insecure man, he's a little too fond of playing 'pranks' and bullying some of his female guests while letting the dangerous ones go unchallenged because he's so 'nice'. He isn't nice, not by a longshot, not compared to a gentleman and pro like Knapp.

You oh so still SUCK George!!! Get your shit together man!

Tried listening to a show the other night since a poster mentioned Dave's gaffe -- he said the guest's book was called "The Last Intervention" while introducing the guest. The guest corrected him that the title was "The Last Invention"... to which Snoory replied -- "I have the last intervention written down here..." -- DUH what a fucking idiot!! IF he had even bothered to do an iota of research on the guest the FIRST thing he'd have learned was the CORRECT TITLE of the book the guest was there to promote! Sheeesh - what a sorry sack of cowdung.  ::)
