No. I would feel sad that his undiagnosed and untreated mental issues finally got the better of him, and that his final act was to just further magnify the mental issues that had been plaguing him all of these years.

I think Knapp doesn't have much time to do the show which is why he only does it twice a month

Yeah, Knapp is the only one who doesn't phone it in now that Ian's gone. I would bet that he's not on more because he'd make Dave look bad. I don't think he'd do it, but I'd love to have him as a host 3-4 nights a week. Since he actually reads and researches, he probably wouldn't be able to do that and keep his (at least) two other jobs. So, I just appreciate him when he's on.

I've only reviewed the last two pages of this thread and may have missed it...  I heard Snoory discussing "Mall Ware" (malware).  I've mispronounced enough words in my life, but I'm not being paid big bucks to be on the radio.  Can't someone review those really long, multisyllabic words with Simple George so that he doesn't sound like an uninformed boob every damn night?

Yeah, I don't think I said anything last night when we were listening, but I wondered how much of the opening tech news he actually understood. He really just sounded like someone reading an article.

I downloaded the 30-day free trial and I am listening to the Jay Thompson show.  The first words that I heard spoken were "Bottom Feeder."  Where have I read words like that before?

While NMN's attention - as for this forum in general, I assume - will be firmly focused on Art and Dark Matter from Monday, we will certainly be dropping in on Dave from time to time, particularly for 'Here's What's Happaneen', always a rich seam of comedy gold. There will also be interest to see how Dave reacts once Art is up and running, how the choice of guests is affected (it has to be another slap in the face that C2C's 'Science Advisor' is joining Art in his first week), etc. And I would hope that The Chronicles Of Suckage will continue to be updated and commented on, albeit at a more desultory pace.

I also enjoy Knapp. he is professional and actually researches his guests/topics and asks intelligent questions and follow ups.
It would be nice to have Knapp join Art on Sirius/Xm in any capacity.
It's possible he has a non compete clause in his contract that would prevent him from working in radio for a period of time (several months or even years) if he decides to leave C2C. I'm not sure how his contract is worded but maybe a  part time host would not have this kind of restriction.

I'm looking forward to the night when Hoagland (or any other regular) is doing their schtick on C2C, and either mentions Art's show, or something that they'd talked about on Art's show. You know it's going to happen and you know Dave's going to make a lame joke to cover it up, while silently having a meltdown.

I think he should take it all as a hint to get out of radio though--or at the very least hosting duty on Coast. And I've mentioned a couple of times now, he fakes interest in the paranormal/UFO topics, he's only doing it for the food and to keep an easy job. Honestly, it is a stupid question. On one level it seems to be suggesting culpability secondary to such a concentrated amount of criticisms that are often more than harsh. If that were where the dynamic stopped it would be hard to argue the point. However, as many criticisms as there are, they are not as prolific as the amount of time noory has spent making himself the target of all these statements.

Secondly, most people, would have some level of concern anytime someone kills themselves. But to even start to suggest that harsh comments here would be the catalyst for a suicide is simplistically emotive. If one is predisposed to self harm their foundation was set well before this forum was started. It is irrational to think anyone's thoughts are the impetus for another's behaviors in this type of context. If it were discovered noory's mom was posting here, this question may have some merit. And let's not forget, noory has been sitting in that chair for over a decade, as noory has stated, he is a fighter.

There is some kind of equivocation within this question. It suggests that a specific forum's chides, snarks, and yes even mean spirited comments are equal to actual abuse. Again, if this forum had been founded by someone close to noory, the question may have merit. But that isn't the case.

No one here is so heartless to not consider their words do not have meaning. If that were the case, there would more than likely be much uglier comments within the thread. Almost all the comments that may be considered mean spirited would have to be taken out of the humorous context they sit in.

i was going to still listen to c2cam if they had an interesting guest on.
but after Noory's stunt having David John Oates back on (arch-enemy of Art, who he banned from c2cam 10+ years ago) and Noory's posts here earlier this week making claims that Art Bell posted here were lies, i may rethink that plan.

i have the 30day free Sirius trial with no credit card activated and working right now on my desktop and wifi netbook device, so I am all set for Art Bell starting Monday night.
