George Noory Sucks! - The Definitive Compendium

Although we had a some similarity we also had some differences. I think noory sucks, I don't think vulgarity made for a salient argument. But, make no mistake, noory deserves truck loads of criticism.

I don't think the posters here (the ones that have been here) are going to turn on Art... I have been wrong before.

Fair enough. I'm just saying that people should have tact and plenty here have. As far as turning on Art, look, Noory has it easy compared to the AB days. Remember the fake racist Philippino letter? The entirely baseless molestation accusation from SW radio? Art went through hell, and it all started on the internet. Those people have not gone away, they are still around, waiting for September. Where do you think they might spend their time in the interim?

This was my previous post and theory:

So, Dave has mentioned a few times now about his frog voice.  Today its "day two of the frog voice."  Is that code for "I burned my mouth and throat on pizza rolls again but I can't say that again on the radio?"

Yeah, he actually said it was from all of his flying.  Don't know if that just meant the dry cabin air, or he caught a cold, but he said it was from his flying.

Maria Muldar's Midnight at the Oasis was one of the bumpers that I strongly associate with AB and his high desert.  It was one of the bumpers that seemed to pop up when AB made his announcement. ABBA is another that seems very AB and best left to him.   

There are good GN songs.  Anyone can play Hypnotized and I'm happy.  I really like Wallflowers' One Headlight and associate it with CE C2C (in a good way).  The Sinatra doesn't work and Lady in Red is cringeworthy.

I have read of those issues. But I never got involved because I was satisfied with Art's show. I didn't need to know anything more than that. I wasn't in a forum discussing Art. I didn't need to. Noory on the other hand has offered such a poor replacement, that I needed support to know it wasn't just me.

     I knew there was a reason I was here, just didn't think it would be so easily defined.  Peter Davenport  is "worried" that, based on the increase in ufo reports to his site, there might be an "alien invasion" in the works.  Please, God, not during season 4 Walking Dead.  George said to demonologist, John Zaffis, "I want to talk to you about psychic vampires.  It's come up couple of times and I want to get your take on it."  George, the subject of psychic vampires never just "comes up."  You bring it up.  All the time.  No guest has ever initiated anything to do with psychic vampires except to patronise you.  Period.  And I prefer frog voice over Ted Baxter voice anytime.

Ditto on George waking up a bit and getting partial hold of at least one of the reins. I think Art's return to radio is the kindest thing he's ever done for Norry.  It's going to make him up want to up his game unless he want's to look like an even bigger idiot.  Noory has to quit coasting along on a seat he's never properly earned.
  I see from reading the past posts a lot of you guys turned into mush and lost your backbones when he showed up.  What the hell, he comes in with a picture of this vulnerable little baby Awww. Then talks about his sister dying from brain cancer ( welcome to the planet earth) then talks about his own brush with death ( I almost died ya know) Awww then Whitley's wife's brain cancer - all the suffering - welcome to the human race!  But, what the hell does any of that have to do with his ability to "host".   I think I'll call it "coasting" cause that's what he does.  I sure would like to know what he was doing in university all those years.  It sure wasn't learning critical thinking skills.  He still makes a mockery out of people's intelligence. You know what bugs me the most about him taking over Art's seat?  He didn't back then and still doesn't deserve it.  I'll change my tune when I start seeing him show even the most basic intelligence about the subject matter he's supposed to be engaging in.  I'll believe he's getting better when he asks questions that haven't been answered by the book he's supposed to have read.
  I hope someone remembers the name of this thread when he shows up again and it doesn't turn into his instant fan club.  I don't want to blast the guy but I sure want to ask him why the hell he doesn't like to do his job properly.

I think George really has improved these past few shows. He really did seem to be more with it the last few nights. I had a tear in my eye when a few of the last guests mentioned that if you read their books you will see that the question has been answered. I felt sorry for George because clearly he did not read the book. I know it is impossible to read every book but I felt sorry for George. He is trying to get better but that is one area he just could not improve on these past few trying nights.

Yes, one of the best voices in rock, Delp is greatly missed.  Here's something from their site, in case you weren't up on the latest:

Although he has listened to it more times than he cares to count, he is still very excited about it, saying, "This final song might be the title track for the new BOSTON studio album; it reminds me of the up tempo rockers I wrote for the debut album over 30 years ago."

With a little more tweaking, then some re-tweaking, then a tad more tweaking, Tom says the new album should be ready for release by mid year ... that would be mid year 2013. "After completing this mix I only need to redo vocals on a couple of the cuts, remix them, and sequence and master the album. After working on this project for over 10 years I can finally see light at the end of the tunnel," he says."

Ten freaking years.  Tom hasn't changed.    Scholz is like the "anti-Jorch."  He spends 10 years perfecting one album while Jorch spends 8 minutes for show prep.  : If we're lucky, "mid year 2013" probably really means "sometime in 2014."  I'm hoping they hit the road again when the new album is released.

I now return us all to GNS or "On-line advice for a challenged radio talk show host."

Just my thought on this.  There are some people on earth who are true "haters", but please remember there is a very clear line between hate and satire.  Hate is simply lashing out at the world to intentionally hurt the feelings of some perceived foe.  Satire however is a healthy expression of discontent which is not meant to harm, but rather to, in a humorous way, expose the frustrating shortcomings of other people that affect our own life.  In the process this can help diffuse those feelings of disappointment, provide some much-needed laughter, and maybe even help effect change in a positive way.
