B,
I enjoy helping others. I went through a very bad health scare in 2000 and have a different attitude now...and so work is my release. It is fun for me and I can help those I care about.
And I agree, Ill take honest critiques all day, but when they become rude and mean spirited (as some have) I can take the high road and just walk away or stay in their and punch away. I did pick up somethings from Art...he stays in their and punches away. It seems to work for him.

George, its called noise.  Not everyone is going to love you whether you do radio or drive an ice cream truck.  Its just work.  We all suffer through it.  Everyone gets shit on.

Favorite guest   Gosh I like so many.
I like the variety. Cant be paranormal all the time even though those are my favorites. What we did to expand the show was reach out to many who DIDNOT listen people  they just didnt like UFO's etc.....and we have mixed it up.
And its a fine line because I dont want too much of any given topic.

Fair enough. You should have Graham Hancock on again. Hes my favorite. And it would be a perfect time too considering hes recently published a new book.

bateman

George, are you personally interested in the paranormal topics anymore? Specifically cryptozoology, UFOs, abduction phenomenon.. I'm just wondering where the new agey stuff came from- is the show an accurate reflection of your interests? How much creative control do you, personally have?

Roy Hinkley

Are you still planning on doing a show from James Gilliland's ranch?

Gnoory

Love the paranormal topics. Really dont want too much new agey (thats an internal discussion)
100% final say

You can't be new age all the time either, but sadly It seems that you are.  The health stuff is boring and often misleading (I work in healthcare) and it seems that your show is more focused on doing news (which we are sick of because it's on all day) and new age stuff like so-called "spiritual" shows and psychic hucksters.

Author and investigator Graham Hancock discussed some of the hidden supernatural or demonic forces that were factors in the Aztec empire, and the Spanish conquest of Mexico, as well as the Ark of the Covenant, and his research into a advanced lost civilization.
just had him on....is there another book?

Yes I have referred many guests to my brother in law...they have taken some advice and are also using an experimental drug...as horrible as this is..the tumors are shrinking...the two big masses were removed

I'm glad she is responding to treatment.
I hope you will make it clear, to the listeners who tune into the alt. treatment topics you have, that you are NOT advocating a seriously ill person disregard  their doctors advice.
I am afraid that you sometimes don't make that clear. And I fear you could be misleading sick people. IMHO for what it's worth.

Guess I missed it. His latest is "War God". Was he allowed to talk about Ayahausca? Its a really fascinating subject but some people won't let him talk about it.

I'm planning on going to James Gilliland's ranch soon.  If you want, I can do a live call-in to the show and describe what we're seeing.

SaucyRossy

Hey George, my prayers go to your family (seriously)

Can you give us a run down of what your pre show is like production meeting right when you get in, then emails etc? When I worked in radio a lot of the times the most fun was what happened before the show got started, but doing sports radio is a bit different stuff is always happening. But still I'm curious what your teams dynamics are like. Also is the studio you use solely for c2c or is it shared ?

SaucyRossy

As for the people that post here. I've gotten to know a few and we are all as varied as you can imagine. I'm going into pre-production for my first feature film that I am directing after graduating from film school. C2C has always been one of my sources of entertainment (I watch a ton of films but not much tv)

Somedays you eat the bear and somedays the bear eats you.  This is where the bear eats.

Please, you are a public figure, making big money with a cool job. Get a grip.

You seem a bit emotionally manipulative.  Why do you wonder if my friends/family know that I am so vulgar?  That sounds judgmental.  This site is of no threat to you.  People are obviously still listening.  If I was there with you, I would hold your hand.  You seem a bit fragile.

That's sort of an interesting topic to toss out in front of George. Why do people listen to C2C? Of course there's entertainment, but I'm betting there's more than just me that use it for something else.

I listen to it for ideas for books and short stories. I'm not the only one, Dean Koontz does as well. Just a seemingly minor thing, such as about a year ago George had a guest that was a pulmonologist that speculated that lungs really won't be able to last longer than about 150 years, can lead to a train of thought in an author that turns into a section of a book. You'd never recognize it once it makes it into a book, but sources of inspiration are like gold to a sci fi author.

So for everyone else, is it entertainment? Or is it something else?

George Noory

These trolls on here using bad words are disgraceful when all I'm trying to do here is be honest and improve. But, being the magnanimous, great man that I am I can also see the other side of the coin. I wouldn't be the fantastic and humble George Noory if I couldn't, now would I?

Ya see, there are those people who used to listen to the show in the distant, mist-shrouded past. It was a more innocent time known as the 1990s. Long before many of the ass-kissers, er, I mean, my fans here were even aware that the show existed.

Back then a person, let's call him the listener, might have been driving down a deserted road in the Mojave Desert late at night.  The summer night sky ablaze with stars , the hot desert wind blowing in through the open windows. Everything is perfect. He's waiting. 10pm approaches. Then he hears it. The music on the radio. Midnight Express. And his brain starts salivating because it knows it's in for 5 hours of delicious mind-candy. Then comes the voice. It's an intelligent, no-nonsense voice that drips with experience and professionalism. It's Art Bell. And for the next 5 hours the listener gets an interview that keeps his ears glued to the radio. He doesn't want to miss a word of it.  Bell asks the questions the listener would ask. He gets the answers to the questions the listener wouldn't think of. Bell isn't a sounding board. He is a participant in a conversation. The listener is never left wanting. Bell pursues the topic like a terrier after a rat. He explores the topic. He delves. He digs. He grabs the topic by the scruff of its neck and he kicks it in the ass. He beats the living shit out of that topic. He wrings it dry and when the show is over the listener is satisfied. He's spent. Bell has just made 5 hours seem like 2. The listener has been entertained and in those 5 hours of show not one stupid, inane, tasteless comment has been uttered by Art Bell. NOT ONE!

But then something happens. It can't be true but it is. Art Bell is quitting. No, they said. This is the end of the midnight mind candy, they said. Who could possibly take his place? Who? But Art assures them that the show will be placed in capable hands because his successor "gets it". Thank God, they said. If Art Bell endorses his replacement then he must be good. All is well but who is this man who will step into Bell's shoes? The man's name is George Noory. WHO, they said?

Well, it seemed to start out O.K.. He seemed to be trying but something was missing. They said he just needs a little more time to find the groove. Yeah, that's it. A little more time and he'll be fine. It wasn't to be.  It became clear that Noory was out of his depth. He just went from bad to worse. Surely this Noory will do the honorable thing and quit, they said. Surely the people who hired him will see what we see, too, they cried. But either they couldn't see or they just didn't care. Inexplicable. The nightmare has continued now for lo these 12 long years with no end in sight.

This man Noory, this imposter,  told all the listeners from the beginning that he would uphold the high standard set by Bell but it wasn't true.  Oh, he knew it wasn't true when he said it. He knew he wasn't up to the task but his self-interest was all that mattered to him. Noory took a show about which millions of people had very personal feelings and he wiped his ass with it. The show just deteriorated from the get go. Year after year getting worse and worse. The true fans becoming angrier and angrier at this upstart, this nobody, this ... fake. This Noory didn't have a clue nor did he care to find one. Not only did he wallow in his mediocrity, he decided to embrace it. Noory ate Bell's show to its bones. Now it is nothing more than an infomercial populated by annoyingly stupid guests, helmed by an uncaring, lazy, poorly educated, inappropriate fool.

So maybe the people here who are so shocked that someone would ridicule me should stop and consider that it isn't simply my incompetence to which they object but that it is the fact that I destroyed something that was important to them simply to satisfy my own greed and self-interest. Ridicule is all I deserve, at this point.

But I sure want to thank all the star-stuck ass-kissers, er, I mean my fans here that I care so much about for trying to help me improve the show. You know, the show that I've had 12 years to improve but haven't. Your brainless gullibility, er I mean, willingness to help amazes me. I love it.

Hey, have I ever mentioned that I spent 9 years in the Navy?

And, I would like to personally thank you for your service.

I feel absolutely drained.

George, can we have a roundtable where we all discuss how our illnesses, including those of our families?  How much leverage can we get out of that?  Will you pray for me?

My family does know that I am vulgar and well, its because I have a knee tumor so they put up with it.  Except when I say Cunt at the dinner table.  Then, I get slapped.

Rosemary Ellen Guiley- she is so smart. She is a wealth of experience and knowledge.
Glynis McCants - despite some of the bad things people say about her, its obvious she really cares about people.

Pick one of those two George!

Yes, I am surprised that you are so interested in the opinions of maybe 29 people when you come on.   You are so Christ-like in your devotion to helping people.  I hope the bear says grace before biting your ass.

Hello George Noory. How are you?

How did you get interested in posting to this forum?

Why is it so important that people believe you're a nice guy?

Do you think something's going on?

Are you ready to go to the phones?  :D

Where can we get your book?
