I know it is about keeping listeners... I just do not get why.  Is Art really going to eat into his market that much?  I kind of doubt it- a few people will leave- but his major market (just as Arts was back in the day) are people who work overnight and / or are insomniacs.  This will not change.

Just "spit ballin'" here.  I wonder how many folks will drop their "Coast Insiders" account in favour of Art Bell's Sirus XM membership, depending on whether or not they can afford only one account?

I can afford to subscribe to XM. Although I have to confirm it with my wife first. I do not subscribe to whatever the hell George's thing is. But if I did then I would have to justify 2 things. I would drop c2c thing for sure. I wonder what the price comparison is between the C2C thing and XM. I have not done the research. Not that the price really matters anyways. It is Art after all and I would make darn sure I had the funds if I didn't have them. I know for some people it could be out of reach, and that makes me sad. But  I bet if they truly know who Art is and know they are going to be experiencing a true legend, they will scratch it together somehow. It's kinda like kids that want to go see a legend or perhaps their favorite band in concert. They can't afford it. But somehow they get the tickets or get the money.

Thats probably for a longer term (maybe one year) subscription compared to monthly though.
But at that rate thats just under $5 per month compared to Sirius/XM internet package subscription of $14.50 in the USA and under $8 per month in Canada.
Though many have reported if you call Sirius to cancel they will usually offer you a longer term at a much lower price thats like $5-7 per month.

Dave et al get onboard because of free speech, which they want for themselves but not for anyone else.  God forbid we imply that George is insecure and hostile toward anyone with an opposing view point or differs from his moral compass.  God forbid we complain that George frequently focuses on only salacious news that we have heard 3x by the time it urks out of his portal.  He has stated that he feels a moral duty to inform us about tragedy.  Maybe this is his way of saying that the tragedy of his show is nothing compared to what happens to kids and animals.

When he asked about whether the combustionable baby's burns were third or fourth degree, yuk!  Why George?  Almost prurient.

I am thinking that he served in the US Navy as a civilian.

Dave et al get onboard because of free speech, which they want for themselves but not for anyone else. 

I will always find it odd that someone who has so many privacy experts on who hammer home our waning privacy would allow himself to be sponsored by a company who looks into deaths in private homes and then divulges that information for a fee. It's creepy, it's obnoxious and it's intrusive. My dad died at home, and every time I hear one of those commercials, I think of some jackass getting his name and getting all excited over a poor, sweet man who died too soon and then I think Noory talks a good game about privacy but when it comes to the almighty buck, well tough crap all you people who have relatives who died at home.
