....Perhaps Dave is the product of putting up with Tommy for 10 years.

;D  Both Dave and Tommy are the type who put up with an outfit such as PremRat so that alone should tell us all something.  If they weren't the way they are now when they first showed-up, the whole sorry game could turn them that way.  I'm surprised Art lasted as long as he did in that environment.

I truly hope Art has better luck with Sirius.  I'm sure they're no bed of roses, either, but I sincerely hope they really do give Art the creative freedom he relishes and deserves.

P.S. - Dames's students?  Maj. Ed "Lame" Dames?  That fraud still has "students?"

Nighthawk

Not to worry anyways. Soon we will have a  real show back with NO call screeners and a respectful person answering the phone. Noory is without a doubt losing at least one more listener here.

Anyone else see this crop circle that appeared on a California farm?

I don't know how to post the final picture of this onto googles images for Art Bell.  George might like it on his images google page too, seeing he likes coming on here.
Anyone know how to do that?  Nothing like a bit of advertising for Art Bell's Dark Matter and Coast to Toast.

Yea OK I will try to confirm voices. Also I did send an email to Noory regarding this rude interaction I had. I told him that's no way to treat a listener. Anyways that was a week ago and still NO response.
bring it up again here when Noory is here live, probably Monday evening and see if he replies here...

I know I will get killed for expressing a negative opinion of Art but I have a feeling most of you Art fans are so found of him because you listened to him when you were much younger and way more naive.  Listening to his old shows gives you a nostalgic feeling similar to those people who listen to 1980's music, not because it is good but because it reminds you of the good times in your life back then.  ;D

I agree. I loved Art back in those days, the lone voice in the night coming across the AM radio. I am fired up about his return and ready to jump in and get a SiriusXM subscription. But I also haven't spent the last decade picking and choosing which of his very best of shows to listen to and allowing it to morph into an idealized vision. Today some people are after Wells for selling Geiger counters, for example, but clearly do not recall Pizza Punch, the Artbell.com archive CD sold during one of the retirements and multiple books. The Coming Global Superstorm was plugged more than any other book I've ever seen by way of Art's position, far longer than the usual 6-month promotional term. There's nothing wrong with that, but it shows how memory is a funny thing around this forum and how a double standard is applied.

George is not unsalvageable. He can make that show into something interesting and worthwhile. He's been in here damned nearly every night he's been on the air last week talking to us, listening, asking for constructive criticism, plugging us and giving shoutouts, laughing at the more good natured ribbing like Roy, Bateman and Ross' cat Goatsy and now he's going to appear on the site's podcast. That's one hell of a reach out. He's being a good sport, and it seems silly to waste it by descending into extreme vitriol.

And it's hilarious. As MV the moderator said a few pages back, we've got Noory in here denying that he wears a rug. That is quality internet entertainment. And guess what, that entertainment came from George Noory.

I'm thinking he'll ignore it or talk around it.  It's more likely we'll find out what's his preferred RPG launcher or his Big Gulp drink of choice.

Art's gut responses were just more intelligent and insightful than noory's.  It was Art's back and forth with people.  He never said he believed what the guests were saying but interviewed them with the assumption that what they were saying at least THEY believed it.  He expressed his doubts about a lot of his guests. I'm not sure how much you've really listened to.  Compare Art's rapport with guests to Noory and you'll see the same difference between an adult's repsonses to something and a childs.  Theres a bit of nostalgia thats tied to Art but not enough to change suck to radio gold.  Art just did everything better.

Rapport is a good word for it.  I've been listening to some old shows lately, and definitely notice this.  I think it reflects Art's genuine interest in both the topics and the guests themselves, in spite of any doubts he may have.  You can tell he's engaged because he's actually listening, and adjusting his interviews based on what he's hearing, rather than just walking lazily through canned questions.  His natural intellectual curiosity (and broadcasting showmanship) drives him to take the conversation into interesting realms (be they grounded in reality or pure speculation) and we want to come along for the ride.

Okay, here's a screen capture of the recent crop circle.

We make fun of those all the time here. Its just died down since we have had 6 or 7 years to mock it.

Listen, I have no problem treating the man like a decent human being. I think everyone here should.

HOWEVER, George has had his fair shake. He's had plenty of time to improve. I am speaking for myself in saying that I have given up that the show will improve. Does that mean he can't improve? No. He certainly can. It just means I don't believe he will.

Consistency and time may prove me wrong but he's got a tall mountain to climb.

Does tommy ever do any of the call screening? I tried to call in during open lines last week and I was shocked how rude the guy was. All he rudely says is, "whats your name and whats your location".

Always say you are truck driving.

Anyways I gave him that info and then he hangs up on me? I am a first time caller to Georges show. I called back 3 times more and got the same rudeness. I gave up. I will never try calling Georges show ever again. What a rude prick he has working as a call screener. Reading the other guys story about tommies rudeness I wonder if that's who was answering the phone that night. Turned me right off. Total asshole working for George.

PM Bateman and ask him how he got through.

He does, but it's not like we haven't had good luck so far in interacting with him. He did a whole hell of a lot better than he usually does last Friday night, and he was in here obviously interacting with us the whole way. Earlier someone called George's interview with Basiago his best in 10 years. Is this results? Time will tell. Did we have an effect? I don't know, but you got him to make a candid observation on a guest, and I got him to ask a question, and he even went so far as a dual Bellgab and Coastgab plug. It's early to tell, but it certainly seems to look positive.

Plugs, shoutouts, and interactions on this site does not equal a better show. How he performs on air dictates that.

I can't give a fair assesment of friday's show because I turned it off quickly because the guest was horrible.

GN did give some subtle challenges to Bassagio, but thats the best you can do with Bassagio because he just starts threatening to sue everyone all the time.

Can't say much about the open lines because GN just replayed an old hour of open lines.

Oh hell, you missed the good stuff. After he got rid of the bad guest, he had a two hour interview with Andrew Basiago that was weird and entertaining. Basiago believes he met Barack Obama on Mars. There was improvement there, George was more engaged.

It's the one not on the phone ordering the XXL pizza or holding the purse.

You'll have to fist fight me in the alley by the dumpsters for like 15 minutes to get me to put those on bro.

Well, here's an experiment. George's next show is set up to be potentially good, as far as guests:

First Half: Dr. John Hall will discuss his work with thousands of victims of electronic harassment, stalking, and mind control. For years he and his patients have claimed that CIA/NSA technology has been used to track, intimidate, and even read the thoughts of people across the US.

2nd Half: UFO researcher, lecturer and broadcaster, Philip Mantle will update his work researching USOs - Unidentified Submerged Objects, which have been spotted in lakes and oceans around the world, as well as alien abduction accounts from the UK.

Let's see how he pulls it off tomorrow and see if there is improvement.

OH ok well I might have to give it a listen haha

That does sound fun.

Scifi, let me ask you simply why do you constantly defend George? Pity? Just want to be a contrarian? Actually think he is great?
Why the constant need to point out even the minute of things as evidence for him improving. Just curious. Not attacking.
