Ok some one please explain to me the hate for Tommy?

Did he post something or send nasty emails or do something Im completely unaware of or is he just an easy target?

From reading extinct threads, he has been abusive to fans and lies about it.

Yes.

SciFiAuthor

Was it really Tommy, or someone accused of being Tommy? I'm skeptical of that game, I just spent a week periodically being called Tommy.

I read this a few year ago, and it never made reference to a SciFiAuthor that I can remember.

easy target? Can't miss him! I'm starting to think his relationship with Jorch is a lot like Hoover and his lil buddy Clyde Tolson.

Tommy the minder has to tag along to the "television show" too?  Why?  As far as I know, this show isn't related to Premier, right?  It's bizarre why a man his age needs a constant minder/companion.

Here's Tommy in the Boulder "Beeyond Beeleef" Fortress of Suckitude.  As you can see, it will be hard for even someone of Bat(e)man's caliber to penetrate the perimeter of security.  ;)

Who hates Tommy?  He's just Dave's "loveable" assistant.  You know, just one of "The Mads."

When you type "George Noory Sucks!" in the Google search bar, this is what you see (below).  The post count reads the same now as it did on April 6, 2008.  Google needs to be brought up to speed. 8)

It's to please The PremRat Master.  Plus, it's very slimming, if you squint real hard.

Where did you get this from MV??

It was sent to me by somebody who is at the studio where they are recording Beyond Belief.

(Even though I dont smoke), there was something comforting about listening to Art chain smoke through a show.  Listening to Art was like being in a dark bar with twinkling christmas lights all year round (ie the Bon Ton), that smelled of cigarette smoke, beer and cheap liquor, woody surfaces, with all of the possibilities of high dessert strangeness.

I'll have the Tiramisu, please...

(Just teasing  ;D)

My keyboard if fucked. The cursor jumps around everywhere it is very annoying and takes a long time to type anything as I'm always correcting things and having to bring it back to where I was.

Is it an evil keyboard?  Maybe it should have been on the haunted items show the other night.

Well I think Tommy just threw that whole "black is slimming" thing out the window..

I am so dumb!

Hey folks,
I hope it's still okay to make comments on the show:  last night when john b. wells felt the need to enlighten us with his take on the bible as the best source available for a well lived life , he reminded me of myself 20 years ago before I had read Joseph Campbell , Alvin Boyd Kuhn and others regarding the value of the Bible as metaphor.  John B. Is okay by me, ,but one can only anticipate his continued education.  Totally aware of how pompous this makes me sound.  Still though, he has the making of a good host if he does his homework.
George, buddy, sorry but there is no path out of your mediocrity.

Who hates Tommy? Tommy has a special place in Paper*Boy's comics. He even had Tommy use a hula hoop once. And there are photos of Tommy triumphantly riding down the street in a parade, wedged into a convertible with a handsome scotch taped sign, next to Jorch and waving to the fan. And then there's Tommy in his lovely Marilyn Monroe ensemble a few pages back with a fetching rose in his hair. OK, maybe I was mean and said he should have his back waxed and I apologize for it. That was uncalled for.

No one hates Tommy! He's a *STAR* on the GNS thread! And now we have Man in Black Tommy. Maybe there'll be an action figure!

He is the Regis Philbin to Jorch's Joey Bishop.

Well, John B. sounds a bit pompous to me.    I wonder if (Not) George Noory will come on tonight.  I have so many questions!!

They have products for that now;  Assurance for men.  I saw it on TV.  They are, like underwear pantyliners for women.  Tommy, because of his size, may not have the control that he used to have. (Pretend you are hearing Gypsy's voice saying this.)

They couldn't have come up with a more fitting  name than Beyond Belief.  I guess it's part of the deliberate dumbing down of America.

Belushi ..... yes!  My old mind plays tricks on me now and then.

Steve / Dan ...... Wild and Craseee Guys!

I don't think Noory is that terrible. I found this forum while searching for people who thought LMH was terrible and boring.   I am 26 years old so I didn't listen to Art during his run but going back and listening to the "classic" shows I am just not that impressed.  Art played softball with almost every guest he had on.  I was listening to the Mel's Hole shows and you could tell that the guy was full of it from the get go.  If George had something like that on the air you guys would crap all over it.  George gets crap for promoting frauds and deservedly so but lets not pretend like Art's hands are clean.  Hall-Bopp UFO, Alien in the freezer, John Lear, Y2K, alien autopsy, Mel's hole, Hoagland, Steiber, etc all complete bull crap.

The main difference I could tell between Art's 1990's shows and current C2C is that Art's shows felt more organic as far as flow and format go but this is of course the work of PremRat as Art's later shows were as terrible as the current C2C shows.

I will say that Art seemed a lot better prepared for his interviews as far as a working knowledge of the subjects go but then again living in a double wide in the middle of no where does leave you with a lot of free time.

I know I will get killed for expressing a negative opinion of Art but I have a feeling most of you Art fans are so found of him because you listened to him when you were much younger and way more naive.  Listening to his old shows gives you a nostalgic feeling similar to those people who listen to 1980's music, not because it is good but because it reminds you of the good times in your life back then.  ;D

Nope, I listened to Art well decades past the time when I was naive. But since you bring up Mel's Hole, most people know that was a story, but it was a fun story to listen to in the middle of the night. The difference between Art and George is that Mel's Hole grew out of a phone conversation Art had with Mel, where he asked questions and was interested enough in the answers to invite Mel on because he knew it would make for an entertaining show. And that's the main difference between the two. The last time Jorch thought about inviting a caller on, it was someone incarcerated as a pedophile. Jorch wanted to have a round table with this guy. Yeah, provide him a forum to tell the world how innocent he is. Someone must have pointed out to Jorch that he got pwned, but apart from that, there has never been any show of interest in a caller with an interesting story, and there have been many. And that's one of the key differences between Art and George. Art was interested in his show, George phones it in.

QuoteI will say that Art seemed a lot better prepared for his interviews as far as a working knowledge of the subjects go but then again living in a double wide in the middle of no where does leave you with a lot of free time.

Or maybe it's that he's interested as well as invested in the show he founded and built up, including the mega radio stations like WABC in NY, which dropped C2C after he left. BTW, he could have moved to LA for Prem Rat. He likes it in the desert. His choice.

ziznak

Art's gut responses were just more intelligent and insightful than noory's.  It was Art's back and forth with people.  He never said he believed what the guests were saying but interviewed them with the assumption that what they were saying at least THEY believed it.  He expressed his doubts about a lot of his guests. I'm not sure how much you've really listened to.  Compare Art's rapport with guests to Noory and you'll see the same difference between an adult's repsonses to something and a childs.  Theres a bit of nostalgia thats tied to Art but not enough to change suck to radio gold.  Art just did everything better.
