So you guys tell me. Who would your replacement be?

Gilbert Gottfried
Gilbert and a Whitley Strieber interview would be priceless.

George Knapp and Richard Syrett come to mind. Knapp has a combination of good traits that make him perfect for the job. Syrett is known as the Canadian Art Bell for a reason. We'd listen to Coast if either one of those guys was the main host.

Now c'mon now, you really should do your research. We pretty much know you didn't make your choice based on taste, but you should be drinking Milwaukee's Best Ice. Same great price, same *cough* great taste, but 37.2% more alcohol than Milwaukee's Best (4.3% vs. 5.9%). There is no better buy on the market. When I drink beer, no matter the brand, it pretty much speeds past my taste buds on the highway straight to my duodenum. Look into Milwaukee's Best Ice - you'll be *burp* glad you did.

Oh I've tried it. I'm rather weird with my beer habits. I don't like ice cold beer. I like it cool, so I just leave the 12 pack in the basement and that makes it the perfect temp. MB tastes good at that temp.

It all stems from when I was in my teens hiding my beer from my parents. 20 years later, I still prefer it that way. It warped my tastes for life.

Knapp is very good, there's no question. And he's probably he most knowledgeable media figure on the subject of UFOs, even more than Art. I don't know Syrett, I'll check him out.

After that, I'd probably think I was a PR guy too. I should be a PR guy, but I'm not, I'm exactly what I say I am. I really am just some asshole out here drinking Milwaukee's Best and listening to Wells with no connection to Noory or Premiere.
Its because you have only ever posted in this thread.

It seems like you have been given a work order that specifies posting in this thread.

If you had 30 or so posts in politics, music, or your supernatural experiences it would probably help.

Oh, my... You and I have very different tastes indeed.  In beer, in radio and probably in music as well.  The only person that I can think of off the top of my head that is a worse host of a nationally syndicated show than George is... Wells.

This now begs the question (being as others think you are the PR guy....) are you actually Wells?  It seems that if George is here that it would be reasonable to expect other hosts as well (and boosting Wells is something that Wells would almost certainly do.)

***The above paragraph should be read in the spirit it was typed.  As a joke***  The paragraph above that is serious- I have stated a number of times that Wells makes my skin crawl and I have not caught more than a minute of him in the last three months.

Oh sure, but I'm not really interested in that, and if I did I guarantee I'd piss people off just as much in those threads as I do here and a whole new can of worms would be opened. I can't spend that kind of time; it's one thread at time, that I can refresh while I work on other things. I'm content to insist that I don't work for Noory and leave it at that.

Well, I am always a day behind with C2C.

Loved Basiago but didnt care too much for the guy re Ingress.

Basiagio has such a great line of BS.  I wish that we could put Basiagio and RCH to argue their points.

I would like to ask RCH why he was not invited to participate in Project Pegasus.

What about the city of 550,000 on Mars that even recently Julie Eisenhower and her twins (friends of Basiagio) were being recruited by the Government to join?  Why not RCH?

Amazing smooth BS, just the way I like it.  I cannot wait for Art to interview him!  Probably the best Noory interview in ten years, although not necessary an interview because Basiagio had diarrhea of the mouth.

Um, no.  I've never heard Art praise God, the bible, sell geiger counters. Wells is a piece of shit on the shoe of C2C, which says a lot. I'd rather see him gone for good and have someone like Knapp in that seat more. Some people don't like Knapp, I can understand that. Knapp has well researched, investigative shows. You have to actively listen to him, you have to engage in his show. Wells, you can smoke yourself out and drink a 6 pack and get by pretty easily because regardless of the guest or topic, it's just all, "Blah blah blah God blah blah geiger counter blah blah blah better read your bible people blah blah blah geiger counter survival.

That quote was from the show. The next quote is from George Noory's book. "I was alone with her in a circle of ruin. The negative thoughts I had projected to destroy the competition and demoralize the young woman had worked."

That substantiates my belief, along with his postings, that George is not a very nice man and contrary to everything he describes himself to be.  I listened last night (friday night) and of course, there was the inevitable baby story and the "I am such a great guy" story.

The baby story, about the spontaneous burning baby is very old and MU covered it much better, describing possible reasons behind this--static electricity with the blanket.

And, then, of course, George lending out his place to a guy who was living in a hotel.
Every show its "Christ-like George" to the rescue.

(Even though I dont smoke), there was something comforting about listening to Art chain smoke through a show.  Listening to Art was like being in a dark bar with twinkling christmas lights all year round (ie the Bon Ton), that smelled of cigarette smoke, beer and cheap liquor, woody surfaces, with all of the possibilities of high dessert strangeness

No, Wells is, like George, driven to using C2C to fuel personal ambitions that lean further right than I care to listen to.  At 11pm, I dont want to hear about what a shitty government we have or about the Bible--way too divisive.  This is an "us against them" ongoing strawman that these guys do not do well.   Further, C2C is not the forum for it.  I want to hear about crazy stuff.

Knapp is closest to Bell.  He has that gravely voice of someone who doesn't give a shit anymore and can call it like he sees it.

Agree ..... George's time has come and gone ....
In the first few years, George had a modicum of enthusiasm, and the fan base was willing to let him learn on the job.  He never did learn the job of being a host. Never.

George is un-listenable now.  With all the other odd traits he has shown in his job of host .... he just comes off as a not a nice person.  Insincere, with a 'creepy undertone' ...... not very endearing to an already sceptical audience.

I don't think there are any real 'haters' here, just very many listeners suffering from years of exasperation with a host who's had a decade to 'up his game' but just didn't give a shit. ..... until now.

Baby pictures, sick relatives, burned mouth, sick and dying children stories, and inappropriate comments.  The list goes on, but at this late date, and with the return of Art ..... I just don't care about George, Premiere Radio, or the Coast to Coast cheerleaders anymore.  C2C will fade ..... and who will care?

bmcintyre

What George does not understand is that the world revolves around me, not him.  I listen to C2C so that I can stop problem solving and reliving/reviewing the problems of the workday.

C2C and I had a standing agreement that it would only entertain.     Now, for the past ten years, all George and (most recently) Wells do is patronize me by using C2C as a vehicle to promote their own moral self-righteous interests.  That is why George sucks.

Exactly. Art didn't let people come on and quote the bible. It was his rule, and it worked or he'd be taken over by wingnuts convinced he was going to hell for being a heathen. And Knapp - I have a lot of respect for him. He's not out selling geiger counters. He does this because he's driven by curiosity, which brings a lot to his shows. I respect him because his involvement in UFO and Bigfoot topics, whatever you might think about them, has affected the way he's treated by his peers. He's spoken about this before - a lot of ribbing, some of it not goodnatured, and it frustrates him but he hasn't dropped the subject and keeps hammering away. What does Wells have to lose besides another geiger counter sale? His schtick is to keep people scared and paranoid, Knapp's thing is to keep people informed and Art's is to have a good time with subjects hardly anyone covers seriously. With Joorch, I really believe it's a job that pays well.

I don't hate the man, I don't hate anyone. But after the upteenth interview when the guest has said something fascinating that should have been explored and wasn't because it was time for the next cue card, it was obvious this guy was phoning it in in more ways than one. And then, to top it off, all the backpatting about the trooth, and how he's just looking for it. Well, I already know the government is full of shit in many ways, but I don't need Noory or Wells and their armies of people who see conspiracies under every carpet to tell me that. And I don't need Noory to be the cheerleader for quackery, and the current anti medical science front. I listen to be entertained by the conversation, not by the host's shortcomings or fixations.

Ian was just as bad, albeit his attempts were more benign, if you consider religion benign.
I think that if you advertise yourself professionally affiliated with a religion, you have a religious show, no matter what you say. He is a professional shill for his books, Walter Cronkite School of Journalism, etc.  That's what he does, see his website.

I wonder if "tinnitus" is code word for I was a really bad boy and have to leave the state.

Those are two of the main reasons I can't listen for more than a few minutes.  The maimed baby phenomenon has already been covered in depth, so I'll skip that.  However, Noory's frequent proclamations of his supposed good deeds are so vulgar that I wonder how he thinks it's okay. Even if he does these things, hasn't anyone in his 60+ years explained to him that charity is supposed to be something you keep to yourself, not boast about? He comes off as so smarmy during these pat-me-on-the-back, I'm-such-a-nice-guy sessions.  And then we have the Noory "charitable foundations" that never seem to come to fruition.  There seems to be a new one every six months or so, despite the previous one never actually existing.  It does not make for compelling or entertaining radio.  ::)

1. Milwaukee's Best tastes like it was brewed in an old man's colon.
2. It tastes even worse at room temperature.
3. The fact that you think warm, cheap beer is good tells me you have no idea what actual beer tastes like.
4. The only people who drink that swill are college kids and alcoholics on a budget.
