I'm buying a chord to connect my laptop to my Stereo just for this stream so I can feel like I'm listening on my radio.

that's the best way to listen.  the randomized nature of the stream helps it feel like radio, too.

Whoa! The current stream, June 3, 1997, is the Introduction of Evelyn Paglini. I happen to not be able to stand her. But from a historical or archival perspective, it's interesting to hear her introduce herself for the first time during an Open Lines show.

Yeah, that one was great. Art immediately takes an interest in her. Open lines shows are great and normally the most entertaining.

This is great. Gonna bookmark you on my squeezebox! thanks for the stream.

Murder101

First mention of Harlot the Witch was just on I think.

Is it possible to get this stream to work on a PS3? Right now I'm kinda stuck with Pandora on it and I'd like to listen to Art without having to fireup my laptop.

For non-PC external media players, you would need a Shoutcast app on the device.
My Panasonic smart blu-ray player and smart HDTV both have a Shoutcast app that plays the art bell shoutcast stream and many others.

So many streams to choose from but Fine Art is indeed there.

It's 4 in the morning and The first Mel's Hole show comes on. Looks like I'm not going to bed anytime soon.

That first tale (whilst probably BS - the second one definitely is) is some of the best radio and epitomizes just how great Coast to Coast and Art Bell was in the 90s. This probably couldn't be done today and certainly not with the current administration of Coast. I wonder if Art could still pull radio like this off today.

Marc.Knight

If he ever decided to get back on the airwaves at an international level I think he would resurrect the greatness of past shows for about a year.  I was pondering the other day about his desire to end the Somewhere in time shows.  This is weak conjecture, but perhaps he does not want to potentially compete with himself if he ever did return to the airwaves.

I said literally the exact same thing. Mel's hole always keeps me up :)

perhaps it would be smarter for him to view the somewhere in time shows as a nice free promotion (on a competing network, no less).

I'm not convinced Art or another Network want him to return to the airwaves however the fact that SIT is still airing on a rival network could be preventing Art from appearing on another network.

This is amazing there are already two threads I can think of where similar discussions have taken place about Art's comeback and Premiere and non-competes and blah blah blah... If Art hasn't stirred up a little hornets nest with fans after his recent musings on the social networks I don't know what will...

Art my man, I know you check out gab-land from time to time... cmon buddy just give us SOMETHING!!!!

Jack Shulman is on the stream right now. I forgot what a condescending prick he sounds like.

coaster

I don't know this Shulman guys story. He has an alien transistor or something? Hard to follow what they are talking about, but he does sound like an ass.

Murder101

All JC Appearances is on. This is why this is the best place to hear Art. I've not heard many of these.

HOW DARE YOU MR BELL!!!!!... i love JC

coaster

boiling pits of sewage..
I was listening to the stream last night and Art had David Adair on. At least I think it was the FineArt stream. Anyways, it was an entertaining show. I'm sure the guy is full of bs, but his stories were still interesting and funny.

rca

Listening to the JC stream. Awesome stuff! Has he ever called Noory? I can't see him handling these calls in any entertainging fashion.

He does call Noory. I think he called GN about 6 months ago.
I havent heard him around lately.

coaster

He calls Noory, but its not as funny as when he called Art. Noory can't hold a conversation, and his only reply is "hows Edna?" JC ruined the whole gag with that Edna storyline. It was just too far-fetched. he should of stuck with what he was good at, and that was harassing Art and the callers.

Yes someone identified as JC has called into Noory many times for years, even called Ian too.
However this JC sounds different than the original JC that called Art in the 90s.
Also the newer JC seems able to be contacted by Noory's staff since they have brought him on to debate somebody else a few times.
So the newer JC might be a fake impersonator that is hired by Noory's team?

Hawk

I want to offer my thanks to the person(s) responsible for providing this awesome streaming option. I have the stream plugged into my Tuned In app on both my tablet and smart phone, allowing me to listen as I fall asleep at night, and while in the car.

I was young while Art was in his prime, so I unfortunately missed out on much of those shows. I got to listen to Dreamland here and there back in the day, and I've heard a few of Art's C2C shows in the late 1990's and sporadically during the early 2000's (between retirements). Unfortunately, the bulk of my C2C listening was with Noory, around 2006-2008. I didn't mind him all too much for the longest time, until I began to listen to Art's "Somewhere in Time" shows -- then I started to notice the small, but very significant differences.

Listening to so many older Art shows now, it is so obvious as to why Art was better suited for this role. I'll spare the details on how Art seems so much more genuine, asks better follow-up questions, etc. I suppose just for kicks, I ought to listen to a live C2C and give Noory a listen, just to experience how bad he really is, now that I'm more familiar with Art.

Yeah, I question if the new JC is the old JC.  The voice is definitely different and he seems to almost be a parody of the JC we've grown to love.

Awesome! Glad you enjoy. Sorry to hear that you have to sleep in your car.

JC is pretty much the dictionary definition of 'unscreened'. No WAY would this version of c2c let him on the air.

You really don't think there was any collusion between JC and Art/George? It seems that at a minimum they're in on the goof; and I wouldn't be surprised if there was coordination of specific call dates and times. I don't see the benefit to scripting calls, though.

I believe the current JC is a big phony.  Much like the current C2C host.
