Ahahaha. Will do. Glad you liked it. We've got 5 or 6 different ones mixed in there.
This one did like a basic station/website ID with a coastgab shout and ended with a "George Noory sucks"... it was all done with a synthed J. Wells type deep voice... AWESOME

That's my actual voice. I attribute it to my third testicle.

From now on, this is my excuse for EVERYTHING.

A link to an image will be revealed on the stream at some point over the next 60 days. Listen closely and often.

To linden2k: Thanks for the stream. What a pleasure it is to know that anytime I want, I can tune in to Art. Again, thank you.

Thanks for listening!

First of all, I want to say how wonderful it is to hear Art on that 24/7 streamlink that someone set up on the forum. I've been listening to it quite often. Much more than that other replacement show thats on the live network. I was listening today and it was Art doing open lines back in 1997. One of the callers talked about how 2012 was the big year of somethings coming up. He also stated that the aliens were coming back this year. I just found it interesting that this was 1997! There was actually someone thinking about 2012 back then, hard to imagine. Maybe he'll be right.

Juan

I wish a space alien would show up and give me a ride in his UFO.

Morgus

The Mayan Calendar and the infamous 2012 date was known and referred to for decades before.
But the Y2K (2000) issue was a higher concern back in the 90s, so it got overshadowed until that date was past i think.

analog kid

The apocalypse is slated for this Sunday.

There is a Somewhere in Time episode from around 1997 when Art asked Time Travellers to call in and this guy called and said he was listening to a retro show on the internet in 2011 or 2012 and thought he would call in and got through to 97 from 11 or 12. It was a really freaky call. I'm not sure whether he got things right or not about the future but in the end the call just faded out. It really could have been someone listening to a Somewhere In Time podcast on their computer and somehow decided to call in on one of the numbers from 97 and magically got through. :p *Cue Twilight Zone Music *

why don't you stream through justintv or ustream? they're free i believe.
We're fairly happy with our hosting, and it allows us to host through our domain.

I really wish someone could find a clip of that.  Sounds creepy as hell.

Thanks for the MIB episode this afternoon.  It was great.  8)  It's telling how vintage the episode was, because Art was not yet familiar with the Mothman.

I was listening to one from 1996 a few weeks ago, and it was the same thing except they were discussing the election. Same then as it is now. Gay marriage, economy, social security, medicare all of it. If it was not for the fact that he was reading fax's from listeners instead of emails you would have thought he was doing a show in 2012.

I just listened to a show from 7-29-98 with a Time Traveller line, start of second hour there is a similar caller but he's from 2035. Might be the one your thinking of?

jazmunda

I just listened to the caller from the episode you mentioned and that is not the call I was reffering to. It is similar though. Your guy was calling through a vortex. I think the one I was recalling just called through from the future over the internet and got through.

Every day we're shufflin'.

alejandro

why not play them in chronological order?

Often a topic is covered in sequential shows, or Art says "we'll have guest xy on tomorrow". It's just such a tease to hear it and then I can't hear it. If you're shuffling every days you're also getting too many damn repeats.

alejandro

Thanks a lot for the stream, it's also nice to be surprised of course.
Saves me from trying to get a full Art Bell mp3 collection again. how many gigs would that be btw?

On another open lines show from 1997 that was predictions related, a caller called in and said that the shit is going to hit the fan in 2013. I thought this was interesting and it caught my attention. I hope he is wrong because my alimony payments end at the end of this year. ;D

It is strange to listen to C2C when it was actually intellectually stimulating at times.

Loved the show from the 90's when the guy was complaining about lightening taking out his brand new computer. A 266Mhz

It's about twenty something gigs. I'm pretty sure my 3G service provider would have a problem with me downloading that much. Would rather have a random show served up by Fine Art, anyway.

The marathons are fun, especially when they're promoted with a nifty graphic. Can't think of a subject that would fill a day, though.

We play about 55 gigs of shows at the moment and have another 20-25 gigs of shows we don't play because of their sound quality. They get whipped out for themed playlists from time to time.

That's awesome. Has there been any thought made to making the shows publicly available for DL? I know that is a lot to offer though so I 100% understand if it is not doable.

Thanks again for an awesome stream. You bring me back.
