i can't believe ANYONE took Mel and his HOLE seriously.  baby seal?  basque sheep herders?  giant hole?  wtf?
Yeah, it did turn into that by the end.  But at first, it was just a cool story about a deep hole on some hippie's property.  And entirely believable.

      "How deep is it?"
      "I don't know, Art."

But by about the third time he was on, a deep hole wasn't interesting enough, so all the BS started to flow.  Rare coins, Nazis, Basques, seals, etc.  I heard the first interview live when it happened and it was pretty cool to think about this guy on some secluded property who had a bottomless pit.  It was cool.  Listening in the dark, you know.  It was only later that he jumped the shark with all the BS.  So, anyway... yeah.  It's just nostalgic now.

Haven't anyone figured out yet that Mels Hole was his ex wife? She closed off that tap a long time ago. Thats why Mel lost his mind.

Test,
Well if that's the case I have a bottomless pit, too.  Let's call her "Scruff's Hole".

When I hear those retirement shows in the middle of the night, half asleep, I forget their not live and I get sad all over again. I half expect the stream to just stop..... :'(

I've had some of my craziest dreams falling asleep to Art.

Yeah, I'm pretty much guaranteed to have a crazy dream or two when I fall to sleep with the stream going. Art has a such captivating style that my mind listens to it even while I'm asleep.

Is there any way you can fix it to where the stream status updates the episode without having to refresh the page?

Yeah, I'm sure something can be done.

Another thought - I justed tuned into the Spiricom episode and was wondering when the show would be half over (and ghost to ghost would start).  Maybe display the running time? It would help to know how much show is left.  Just a thought - thanks again!

ghost to ghost.  epic.  love the stream.  love it

Awesome stream. I routinely listen to this along with others on ShoutCast. It is amazing how much better Art is than Snoory.

A pipe dream would be a feed (or staggered feeds) which hosted all of Art's shows in sequential order starting way back in the mid 90's. I started listening in 95 or so.

It would literally take years for the feed to work its way from start to finish.

Additionally, is there one main central location where all of Art's shows are. It would be interesting to have some kind of share to do this.

All pipe dreams though.

I believe premiere still has all the old shows on tape. They won't encode them all since Art is so far removed from the show now. Not to mention the thousands of hours it would take to do this manually.

When Coast to Coast first started offering the show online around 1996 or so, all of those shows were stored digitally on what was then broadcast.com. Unfortunately, Yahoo bought out broadcast.com and deleted all the files. So the digital copies of those late 90's shows are gone forever.... If we only knew how nostalgic we would be about Art Bell so many years later, I'm sure many people would have grabbed all those shows... If only!

I'll never get tired of Ghost to Ghost, especially when it's a random show in the evening.

dan7800

I am listening to the Joel Skousen show. Fantastic. I could never see Snoory doing a show like this.
