I'm just going to say from experience, the purple heirlooms turned out to be a little disappointing when I grew them. Not as flavorful as I expected.

Yeah, my Purple Russians were my most disappointing tomato last year.

Ha Ha! Yeah, solar power. Only works when the sun is shining on it.... :P

I've got a couple of them.

I just stabbed myself in the finger with a needle and now I have to worry if my mother has AIDS or not. Great.

The fact that I am from Seattle, and I can barely stand contemplating how awesome Soundgarden was before exploding into a nova of wow. It makes writing a legit review a bitch, let me tell you.

When pundits on cable news smirk and shake their heads 'no' when the opposing pundit is talking.  Keep your head still, face expressionless when not talking you annoying knuckleheads.

I've seen Soundgarden live three times.  They were terrible every time.

I get them confused with Pearl Jam.
They both suck. Seattle music sucks.  So bad.
Except Hendrix - he's pretty alright.

Music?  I thought it was some sort of primal scream therapy.

It sucks now. By the time anyone east of the Rockies heard of any of it, the scene was long dead.

I have a story that goes exactly like this, except the warm up band was Tool. No one had ever heard of them at the time. I am more than I was.

Sure, I get it. Smoke detectors (and now the other types demanded) save lives. BUT why the infernal beeping for no reason but a bad battery? And the why still using the 9-Volt style as back-up for this system (conspiracy here?) The annoying beep that, -some detector-, of a failed unit that takes a long time to find, on a high ceiling in which you pull the whole damn thing out because at midnight returing home you don't want to get a ladder so use a chair to try to identify which infernal beep is from what detector.! Finally found it and unplugged the damn thing. I don't smoke so hope nothing happens, but there is a scam in these things. Fuck, at this point let the CO etc put me to sleep! (I'm sure some on the board would agree.) Nighty-night.

anti piracy firms .
under the direction of columbia pictures, the antipiracy group entura sent a mass DCMA takedown to vimeo for anything (and everything) on vimeo containing the word "pixels", ironically taking down columbia's official trailer as well. along with a number of music videos, older (than the columbia movie) independant films and personal videos. fun.

I saw, a then unknown in the USA act, AC/DC open for Aerosmith in 1978. I bought their album "High Voltage" on 8-track, to give them a cursory listen-to on the 250 mile drive to the venue. AC/DC were AMAZING. When Steven Tyler & Co. finished their rather short and lackluster set, the crowd started chanting "AC/DC! AC/DC!". Needless to say, there was no encore that evening ;D

Interesting.  Your local news is the same as my local news.  I stopped watching the local TV news well over 20 years ago.

The local paper is worse than the local TV.  "Top 10 best places for a manicure, latest stabbing, latest shooting, latest break-in, top ten local divas, latest knifing, latest trendy perceived social injustice, top ten Mcmansions to die for...."

Hell, I can't even find the weather report on the on-line paper.

For some reason I tuned in to about 20 minutes of NPR today. Oh man, what a bunch of worthless drivel. Does anybody actually listen to this mind numbing corn?

I like several programs from NPR. Many more that I do not care for however. And Sunday is chock full of shows that... suck. I hate shows like the splendid table. I hate back porch music. Add to the can't stand list, The People's Pharmacy.

Oh, I enjoy Wait Wait and well produced fun stuff of this nature. (I think This American Life airs on my local NPR- great show). It is the so called news and long form socially trending reports that make me want to visit my shooting range.

Yorkshire pud

The astronomic cost of razor blade. If the average car was built to the same weight/thickness as razor blades they'd cost about a billion quid each. The bosses of Gellette should be flayed alive with their own unprotected product; not that I have strong feelings about it.

Only if I want the Valium-sedated voices to lull me to sleep.

Yeah, the coffee's good.  But these dog loving hippies up here really harsh my mellow, man
And I think there's a space needle in Canada somewhere.  Problably one in Mumbai or Dubai or something.
