I just sold a couple of North 7700 series respirators to a surgeon today. I know that they will protect his staff, but the one way valve means that his exhalation will be unfiltered (unless he puts something over it.) I don't know if they are of any use in most medical environments. He did say that the company he uses to sterilize them will be able to handle them, and I know he plans on just wiping down the housing of the cartridges with alcohol. N95 stands for "not oil resistant" and filters 95% of the .3 micron and larger particles. P100's are oil proof and filter 99.97% of the .3 micron and larger particles. They are actually better...

Anyhow, now that the evil MV has killed the PM system, I will just ask you on the open board. Are they any use to you? If so, I will ship you a mask (I'm down to small size) and a few cartridges postage due for nothing...

WOTR, thank you for your very generous offer. I am only familiar with the disposable paper type N95 masks & I wouldn’t know how to use such a fancy one or if it would be the correct size/ fit for me. I work on a medical floor, not in the ICU, and the regular surgical type masks vs the N95 would be sufficient for my usual tasks (non-aerosol generating) per current CDC guidelines. I live in the mid-west, and not in one of the current hotspots, so hopefully my states turn for additional supplies will come.

I’m not in a high risk group, so I’ll be fine - but my husband is in a higher risk group; hence, not wanting me to work extra to increase my potential exposure.

Well the saga of the Holland America cruise ship MS Zaandam continues.  It originally left Buenos Aries and was supposed to hit a number of South American ports.
Didn't work out that way.  Of course some passengers and crew got sick.  They had four deaths and not a single South American country would let them dock. So they decided to make for Fort Lauderdale.
They must have rounded Cape Horn at some point because the Panamanians stopped them at the Canal for several days - not allowing any ship with a positive COVID-19 case to transit the canal.
While they were waiting for that to get worked out - Holland America sent the MS Rotterdam to rendezvous with the Zaandam and they transferred all the "healthy" passengers off of the plague ship. 

Panama finally caved in and allowed both vessels to transit the Canal and they are both in the Gulf now.  However, Florida is now bucking up saying they don't want passengers "dumped" there. 
Looking at their current positions on the map, looks like they might be making for Nicaragua?  I am no shipping lane expert but if they were headed to Fort Lauderdale, I'd expect them to be headed North and not NW.

Just spoke with a friend who was on another world cruise. Wild stuff. Basically got back ok last week but were leaving Sri Lanka and Capt announced something like "if you can I would make plans to get home as quickly as possible. India has shut the port." So they went back to Oz and managed to get a flight. 14 hrs from Melbourne to DFW and then another to Dulles. Said nobody checked their temp upon reentry to USA and weird scene cause airports almost empty. And shitty because could only get seats in coach and so "ankles swelled." On the good side she said that they were refunded most of the costs since cruise had just begun (which was approx $30K each.)

Democrats using the virus as an excuse to release child rapists! In NY State Level 3 Sex Offender means very high risk of re-offending. But released. Local PD wasn't even informed, much less parents. If anyone deserves this latest Chinese Virus it would be them but instead Democrats release and give them rooms at the Holiday Inn Express on the tax-payer's dime?
