I recall laughing at "Asshole Injected Death Sentence" (Or "Syndrome" depending on telling.) And back then, during the "crisis" Democrat activists didn't even want to shut down the "bath houses" and such establishments or curb "lifestyles" and claimed some kind of persecution when government and experts said to do so. Even though it was also a virus and had a more obvious pattern of spread. And certainly the whole country didn't shut down at all. Now almost all stops without much, if any complaints, concerns, or even questions about the cure being, arguably, as bad as the disease?

Senda keeps going out and about on the bus.  I've tried to convince him not to but to no avail.  If he gets sick, he's a goner.   

Public transit is weird. Here the news says they have shut down some service (due to lock-down decree) but then, minutes later, said was going to have free and reduced fares for April but "this was not to encourage more riders."

Reminds me of a story I heard an early Apple II programmer tell a few years back about how he had to climb a pole to connect the phone service himself so that he could use his modem with his Apple II back in the late 70s. There’s a video of this out there somewhere.

The only radio I use out here is a car stereo that I hooked up inside my shack. I bought a car antenna and mounted it in a 10’ piece of conduit outside.  Mostly local FM stations.  Too much static on AM. All these FM stations just play that canned new age country that all sounds the same.

I do have a sangean portable am/fm/sw but the signal is sketchy at best. 

I had much better cell service touring around Thailand last fall than I do anywhere near here. I’m halfway between Waco and Centerville.

Bee pollen is a popular addition to your smoothie or acai bowl or dubious soy-based beverage out here.  They collect it by forcing the bees through a sort of brushy thing that knocks off all the stuff they've laboriously collected for their hive, poor things.  On the one hand you could say it is all plant sperm and must share a similar (and likely negligible) nutrient profile but on the other (I am not a pollen expert) I suppose the flower pollen that bees collect has stuff in it that makes it suitable for raising little bees in a way that your tree and shrub pollen, wantonly shot into the wind, does not.

I believe pollen is actually really high in protein content.  Probably that shitty plant protein that uses the one amino acid that has a counter-part in the animal protein world.  Need to bust out the old Biology book, I think it is Taurine/Cytosine or somesuch...

In anycase, I imagine gathering pollen as a protein source is pretty inefficient, but the bees and other pollenators were created/evolved to utilize that niche protein...  To AlBee's point though;  scrape that shit off the deck and sell it to idiot Californians as a holistic dietary amendment at $100/g or something.  They will see that it is expensive and difficult to gather and snap up every bit they can get.  Hell, up the price to $1000/g and sell to the Holywood Elidiots...

Obviously 12 bags of the stuff represents a significant processing/storage problem but here, perhaps, the bees can lead the way:  in storing the pollen in the cells of their combs (where it is known as "bee bread") it is first masticated and then excreted, inducing fermentation as a preservative.  I imagine albrecht might enlist the help of friends and family to carefully sieve for insects and sticks and then chew and spit into a large vessel, perhaps a garbage can or several orange 5-gallon buckets in a ritual not unlike the ceremonial preparation of kava on some islands in the Pacific.  The resulting slurry might be aged for several months (with occasional stirring) yielding a doubtless fetid but ultimately life-sustaining foodstuff along the same lines as tempeh or miso.  I wonder why no one has done this before!

Don't store the stuff, get a Hong Kong/Tawain "distributor" enlisted into the scheme.  Drop ship it to the appropriate overseas address, mark-up the price accordingly;  employ local Asian sweat-shop labor to "reprocess & package" then ship back a pallet of individually wrapped and sanitized packages for sale in the CONUS (with appropriate mark-ups for import/export shennanigans).  With appropriate finangleing an UN small business "grant" can probably be secured for financing of the whole affair, I am sure that the deets need to be worked out.  I will direct "my people" to focus-group this idea, perhaps get some micro-loan investors to sweeten the "honey-pot."
