Weird. Diversity is a grand thing. We don't have security guards in liquor stores. Yet. Larger businesses except "shrinkage" and also don't want liability of a bad shooting etc. Insured also against losses. But smaller places, like convenience stores, people are armed. At least one case I recall somewhat recently in which the owner/operator shot a kid trying to steal a 12 pack. A bit of an over reaction. But another case where employee was canned for catching a thief physically which I think was also wrong. Again business afraid of lawsuits or precedent for other employees....

Up here ALL liquor is sold via government run stores under the Liquor Control Board of Ontario(LCBO) or "lick-boe".

We Ontarians just got beer in the Walmarts and other stores not long ago.

24,000 Canadian Armed Forces members stood up for COVID-19 battle.  Royal Canadian Navy has 2 crews in 2 hotels about to complete their 2 weeks of isolation prior to deployment.  That's approx 1/4 of the available regular force and reserve forces.

So, I was listening to Cuomo try to gin up the fear by inaccurately stating that this virus is the great equalizer, killing both old and young. He then cited a couple of anecdotal examples of younger people who died from it or complications arising from it which don’t reflect the statistical picture at all but then he concludes by contradicting what he just said by saying Even my brother Chris has tested positive but he’s young and strong so he’ll be just fine.
