Her misfortune is that she has become Noory, but in poor imitation.  Whether she is aware of it or happy in her circumstances (though I have my doubts) is beside the point -- it doesn't matter.  It is enough that we can look on in wonder and search our own lives for how we can avoid this tragedy.

...then behold, bellgab looked down, and saw that it was good,

and MV rested on the 7th day.

Sit back and relax.  You're working too hard.  I'll handle this one.  :)

Her misfortune is that her ambition, blinded her to the reality of a no win situation. She thought she had attained her dream job. Only the prize was tainted/damaged goods. Subscriptions, sponsors, affiliates all jumped ship. There was no way someone, with little or no experience/ability could stem the tide. Even though Art started the mess, it was all on her now.

If she left MITD now, do you think she could get a job in a major radio show? Do you think C2C would hire her? Probably not. Her radio aspirations would be finished. Is that enough of a misfortune for you?

The moral of the story is:

Be careful what you wish for:

It may come true.

Time to move on, this is all pointless and like MITD...BORING.
As William Shatner told Trekkies: "Get A Life!"

Here:  I have cast her as a modern-day Ganymede -- forget he was a boy for a minute.

I was a little girl with long, black hair
And, while with fire-pots I danced and twirled,
I listened to his voice upon the air
As he explored the paranormal world.
His absence shook me for those years.  Alas!
Abomination sat upon his throne.
I'd stalk the public forum where he'd pass
And siezed the chance to fly with him.  Alone.
When we alighted from that wild ride
I leapt upon his offer.  Wouldn't you?
He made a spot for me, right by his side,
To serve to him his nightly cup of woo.
(Now cupbearers were once a privileged place,
And though you are a servant, deaf and dumb,
You saw your master often, face to face,
The first to drain the cup or catch the crumb.)
I knew not then what crumb might come my way,
But when my master turned into a mouse
Upon his belly in the dark, some say,
(Or sharp-tongued Hera bid him mind his house)
I tentatively climbed into his seat
From where he planned to overthrow that Dave.
I drank, now, from his cup!  His food I'd eat!
His empire was mine, to lose or save!
But, truth be told, the cup had reached the dregs.
The withered raisins give but little wine.
My dreams lie all about like broken eggs,
And that once-longed-for cup, though it be mine,
Each night I suck, like some infernal sump,
And, loud and clear from coast to coast, I pump.

What is Heather's misfortune, that BGers don't like her any more...

bellgabbers don't like lots of people.  why should that even be a negative?  who gives a shit.

The world won't care how or where (MITD, Gab Cast, Bell Philes) just that Art do his annual true ghost story show please.

but it should happen on the gabcast.  everyone knows this.

This is wonderful, this is terrific. I'm just wondering if there might possibly be an unabridged version, where it is explained why Art, Zeus or any other god would pluck Heather from her unremarkable mortal existence and try to elevate her to the heavens. (Don't tell me it was the long, black hair.)

Of course, it's no surprise that Heather wound up drinking from bitter dregs, since like every other thing that Art did so well, she screwed the cupbearing part up as well. As I recall, Art filled a giant coffee cup before each broadcast and then that heavenly brew sustained him through his inspired on-air performances.

Does anyone think cupbearing is easy to do? Just compare Art and Heather. Even MV's Yoo-Hoo wouldn't help her (it might put hair on her chest, though).

Oops I forgot lines 9-24:

I'd hung about that place enough to know
That Bellgab worked like other filthy clubs
Where lonely men with strange obsessions go
To meet with other frumpy-toga'd schlubs:
Rare females who appear can act like queens,
The sign "girls get in free" is just the start.
The folorn fellows lay down like sardines
While you walk in stilettos on each heart.
But I was never cruel; I made my choice
To float on nature's tides up to the peak,
To let a warm and careful, sexy voice
Suggest the sweet affection that they seek.
My idol's pending advent formed this mob
Into a mighty force, with me astride,
So I was at the forefront for that job.
Concupiscence and largesse coincide!

More catty MV:
I think a network gig is out of the question, but I do think she could get a job at a radio station (maybe?).  However, if that were to come about, it would mean MITD has ended and her next employer would first want to know why it ended.  Could complicate things.  Also, her resume prior to MITD wouldn't be a selling point, and the loss of every single terrestrial affiliate during her tenure wouldn't help.  She might be able to hang her hat on having Art's endorsement, but he hasn't done a thing in almost two decades so that might be of limited value.  I don't believe she could land a job in a large market, but I could be wrong about that.  Who knows.  It's just that each one of those departed affiliates represents a real rejection by a real terrestrial radio station, and we're batting **zero** in that department even though she came at no cost to the affiliates (other than air time).  Doesn't bode well.

The reality is, today's terrestrial talk stations offer very few hosting opportunities.  In most markets, talk stations choose to air syndicated content pulled off of a satellite feed because it's infinitely cheaper than paying a warm body to sit in your studio.  Syndicated shows also bring with them a level of predictability since programmers can look at metrics from similar markets to get an idea of how well the show might do.  A local host is now seen not as an asset, but as a risk and an expense.  If you live in a town of less than 50,000, there's a good chance your local talk station doesn't have a single show hosted locally (except news).  If your local station is one of the rare exceptions, they're almost always going to want someone who does politics, an area where Heather's out of her element.  In 2016, no terrestrial talk station is going to take a chance on a show hosted by someone doing their version of Goblins n Such with Arthur Bell.  They put their money where they see the greatest chance of success, and that's politics/current events/law, etc.

If Heather did get a terrestrial radio job, like most in the industry, she'd probably wind up getting to do very little of what she really wants to do.

Jim Marrs is on tonight's big show.  He has news about the SpaceX Falcon 9 explosion while fueling. I hope his doppelgänger calls in, as he calls in twice each show to give it to Hillary. It would be fun to hear Jim talk to himself.

Lilith

We can disagree.

Alright!

Not worth loosing friends over.

Lets discuss it like adults.

It all sounds so....

I dunno...
