i don't like to be around others handling guns, and i definitely wouldn't bring my kids into a place filled with guys openly holding guns and moving around with them exposed.  it's why i don't go to the public gun range.  i go out in the country and shoot with nobody else around.

Long gun open carry has always been legal here. Some morons were really stupid about it while trying to get open carry legalized for handguns. They are the reason we don't have constitutional open carry today. Too many negative vibes from the fringe. Like that guy in Dallas carrying a rifle during the BLM protest the night of the sniper shootings.

We will never get open carry nation wide, there are too many pansies who get scared around firearms, hell people freak that cops have bobcat APCs now. Or that think that banning guns stops crime.

Yep, I'm actually from Ste. Genevieve originally down your way and you can get great properties for nothing compared to most of the rest of the country. Same up here, I stole my place. 40 minutes from the suburbs of St. Louis, 4 bedroom brick historic house, 10 acres, less than 100k in 2006.

Texas had some really restrictive hand gun laws that basically dated back to Reconstruction after the Civil War.  We didn't have concealed carry until the 90's. Long guns were different. Back in 73 we had kids driving to HS with guns in their gun racks in their pickups, but it was a felony to carry a loaded pistol.

Yet we'll go after guns as if a death by a gun is somehow worse than a death by a Harley-Davidson. That's one of the reasons I don't treat liberal thought with much credibility, it's all over the board.

Yea few years back i saw some chick at my local range jam her handgun then she racked a new round in before clearing the jam, i yelled at her to stop before she made her gun explode in her face.
