Bella-Haven is Live

Ms. C

Good morning, I have had my first coffee an hour ago and will be drinking a second cup as I listen to the show.

I had an inkling to try to get back to my day schedule ... (sleep at night!) and I'm glad I did as I got a call at 5:07 that my day person isn't coming in ... so I had to jump up, get ready, drive the 30 miles and now get to sit here for 12 hours ... but I have much to listen to ... yay, I don't mind having to monitor for such long hours now-a-days!!!!

I kept waking up but made myself go back to sleep, except for my 3:00 a.m. restroom  break ... I checked into Bella-Haven ... listened for a few minutes and also -- went into chat.  OMG, I thought I was in the boiling pot of sewage ... I tried to find JC or Edna ... sigh, chat gave me creeps, trolls and mean mean mean folks ... there is really a need for a moderator (IMHO) -- different opinions, cool ... vulgarity and put-downs, NOT cool!

Sounds like we both got a nice sleep Ms. C :)  I haven't gone to the Bella-Haven live chat in a long time.  In fact, if I was awake during the show, I would probably come here and type in this thread.  Bateman is talking to Nancy now.

G'Morning Nancy just having my coffee, and listening to last nights Bella-Haven.  havent even listened to last nights MITD yet.

Neither have I, but I caught and read Art's several comments on BellGab (around 5:00 eastern time) and also on Facebook defending last night's show and (Redacted).  From what I've gathered ... much Controversy over it!!! ***By the way, I'm so damn tired of people blaming our (Redacted) / Heather for everything they don't like ... I'm keeping my current avatar for awhile!!!  I hate bullies!!!!!!!

I will listen to it after Nancy, and probably type here lol's.  I might not get to MITD till alfter lunch, but, I'll be here.

Lilith

I would buy Bella-Haven coffee cups and T-Shirts......books and Ebooks and magz, not so much.  I love listening to Nancy, but I just plug my ears when she starts talking about books.  I think the callers are the show also.  Bateman is one of my favorite callers.  I like to hear the gabblings lols'

Lilith

I enjoy the political topics too, but I think I understood Art to say he does not enjoy those topics, and wants to stick with the paranormal topics that he is interested in.  I am interested in all the paranormal topics.  Some of the regular guests he has on those topics are not always that interesting, but I think Art and the callers MAKE them interesting.  It will be interesting to see if Art brings some politics and current events back......I hope he does, without calling anyone "Wingnuts".

centaurie

Maybe I was overtired I don't know.   I think a kick to two people in chat probablly would have calmed down things a bit. Well a kick and a ban.

Lilith

I know Nancy feels she needs the live chat, but If it was up to me, I would close it down and use the live thread.  It doesn't have the same atmosphere as GabCast and SpecSheet chats IMO.

A few opinions as someone who does a solo show once in awhile. LOL. (Oh my poor neglected show, lol) You do not need a partner to do this. And actually, personally I find working alone a much less stressful thing, especially if you have a specific vision for your show. Now I don't take callers, or any of that, but I have done my fair share of monologues and it just becomes natural after awhile. I also want to point out that Rollye has done a show solo for some unGodly amount of time and is great at it. There are other women broadcasters out there.

Success is also based on what you think is successful, and not measured by an outside source IMO. Do a consistent product and people will come. It is that simple, but even the best in the biz struggle with an internet audience and money. It takes time and patience to build up your following. Success usually doesn't happen over night. Many of us will continue to listen and promote and support your efforts, I just think front loading with a lot of expectations is a sure way to be disappointed. Do it because you love it, not because you want to make money because odds are making money at this won't happen for sometime. Best of luck to you!

Morning PBS :)  Wise words IMO.  I am still hoping for that ater MITD chat for Gabblings that Chefist mentioned.  Originally I though that was what Bella-Haven was going to go for in the begining, but at this point I dont think so.  Maybe something like Chefists idea will either be done by Chefist (Which I hope he does) Or maybe it will grow out of MV's invitation for all the gabblings to use the GabCast.  I can just imagine groups of gablings getting together to do some GabCasts.

Good Morning brig,

I see where I may be able to offer some advice and insight so here goes. If I was not on the east coast I would have called into the show by now but I sleep then as I have a day job. I think we all enjoy interacting and I think an after Art Bell show is an excellent idea. This forum introduced me to my mentor, inspired my novel, and countless other unmentionable things. LOL So I try to give back when I can.

Belle-Haven lacked balance in my opinion. Two strong personalities with two very different ideas. That is tricky for any partnership of any kind. But creatively it usually results in a power struggle and ultimately a break up of whatever was going on. Being a public figure is never easy, your whole life will be on display and people are going to judge you. Happiness must come from within and if a new co-host is what the show is looking for find someone who is on board with the original vision. Otherwise it will happen all over again.

In the meantime I suggest that Nancy stays solo and learns all she can that way she is relying on herself, and not others, and then she knows that no matter who she adds or who she takes away she can handle whatever comes her way.

PBS...do I need my own live stream, or just a good headset with mic and skype to participate i a gabbling gang "aftershow", should it materialize?  My headphones/mic are on the way, and I have been looking into learning to get my own stream, but would I actually NEED my own stream in order to participate in a Gabbling Gabcast MITD aftershow?  Thank you for your imput ahead of time :D

Lilith

I could help Nancy learn about Tarot.  I am not a fortune teller, and i do not use the cards in that way, but I can help with that.  I see them as a consciousness/ spirituality self-development tool.

No stream needed. You should just be able to call in via skype with your headset. Or as Art said put skype on your phone. And no problem about questions. Streaming is if you want to do your show live and is something callers do not need in order to participate.

I can imagine some of us getting together to do a gabcast on the topic, there seems to be a lot of interest in that topic, and many of us who have someting to contribute in that area.  Maybe RoseGirl woud even join us....Just food for thought.
