Yes, a  good Knapp show for a change:  no Mafia!  (They bore me).  Two good paranormal topics.  I'm interested in hearing Ackerman's communications from The Beyond.

nobody intros his own show like Knapp.  He really gets you in the mood for Weird in the Night!  I already want to buy the Atheist in Heaven book about Forrest Ackerman!

The only Oscar nominated movie I saw this year was Mad Max. Twice. What does that say about me?

So the Ackerman discussion should start in hour two? Hello TigerLily, Faustina, FTF and assorted fans of good nighttime radio. Hope you're all doing well.

damn, nearly forgot about the show.

It strikes me that, listening to Knapp critically (as I've learned to do from the razor-sharp knives on this forum -- heh), he really is very good.  He packs more stuff into each segment than I've grown used to.  Is it just words per minute?  His old-fashioned newsman delivery?  Either way, it's a joy to listen to.  Pipe lit, four fingers of rye, maybe dig out my Hoagie smoking jacket.

If he was on every night, maybe we'd grow weary of his idiosyncrasies, too, but I don't think so.

Is there an official Hoagie smoking jacket? Is it on etsy? Why was I not informed of this earlier?

His questions and comments are well thought out, he knows where the audience's interest lies and, purely in terms of "words per minute," he doesn't waste words or time. He doesn't wander around. Very sharp like all good radio talk show hosts. Yes, he should have been the guy to replace Art.

Is it safe to assume that you will not be playing "the best of Dave Noorie" tapes from your collection?

Good to see you my fellow Knappyhead!

No scotch for me tonight; I`ll drift off haha. Lots of coffee. Gonna be a good show and I don`t want to miss a moment. Heck it`s already good! I love the Phoenix Lights event and all that entails.

You have to go to a special tailor in New Mexico, but they're backed up like two years.  Still, you might get a break on an overstocked bolo tie.

Knapp rocks. Good show so far. Having my usual chamomile/peppermint tea mix with ZMA. Will try to stay awake for the whole show but I highly doubt it.

I have seen pretty much every movie that was nominated and wasn't all that impressed with any of them. They were ok but nothing to throw an Oscar at. I did like The Revenant's cinematography.

"Best of Dave" = 0

Hmmm.  I watched a documentary about the Ackerman communications about a year ago.  Richard Matheson, yes that Richard Matheson, was interviewed as were Dr. Gary Schwartz and some others.  Should be a good show and yes it is a bit creepy.

Did seem like a weak collection

I'm going to turn off my weekend 24 hour playlist of John B. Wells and tune in to George Knapp so I have an excuse to greet TL.

See? That was organic. Neil Diamond, too, rockin'.

I only saw 3 of them.  Of the 3, I like The Martian the best but that was never going to win.  The Academy generally doesn't choose sci-fi flicks for the big awards.  Also saw  Bridge of Spies but it could have been a tighter film.  Yes, the Revenant had the best cinematography. DiCaprio finally looked like a man in a film but the performance was rather limited to grunts and sounds.  I thought he'd win anyway because Hollywood loves DiCaprio.

I skipped the awards as the only nominee I really cared anything about was Stallone and he lost.  Back in the day, the Oscars were great but those days are gone as are those stars.

Good evening Mr. Star. Solitary Man. You know I hate John B. I guess no accounting for taste

Yes, I remember seeing something about this, too. The whole premise is a grabber. A skeptic basically sets a plan to make contact from the other side, if there is another side. It seems like there might be a way to prove there is an afterlife, if you set it up carefully enough, with confirmations backing up confirmations. Secrets only the deceased would know, etc.
