Whoa. You have upset my whole paradigm. Now besides the interesting linguistic issue of Finnish I need to research their RH-factor stuff.  ;)

I haven't listened to the whole show yet but first guest has me thinking that "Bill," or was it "Will" "from Madison" needs to call in with his elaborate Finnish-Urgic theories! The Aliens speak Finnish!

The lighthouse story also had a Finnish connection, that of the "little people" who McCloskey claimed killed the "outlaw saint" on the same island.

Haven't gotten to the lighthouse story, yet. Funny though. Those Finns popping up everywhere on C2C! I need to do more research. The only Finnish stuff I ever read about was the civil war and then the war with the Ruskies. And this guy, Simo Häyhä, aka "White Death," who was sniping before Hollywood made sniping cool. And using M-N knock-off, iron-sights (usually) and would put snow in his mouth so no breath could be detected by the Reds. 505 confirmed kills in 100 days! Record.

ps: I'm thinking that more likely the 'small people' legends there did come from Ireland or from Iceland/Norway, maybe the Vikings who were all over that area back in the day. Lots of stories from them about nisse, trolls, etc that maybe, I don't know, even spread that kind of tales to Ireland etc since they had much of it for a time?)

I think he's kinda like Sean Connery was in some of his less memorable movies - he can somehow show up, do his thing, and remain independent of the suckier production as-a-whole.
Yes.

Sure looks alien.

:) Where is semi-frequent caller "Bill," or was it "Will," from Madison about these Finno-Urghic issues?

A weird story. C2C or MITD should have a story on that blimp. I will check out this program as I like stories of mystery ships etc. Happens even today (though "they" will tell you it is usually a result of criminal operations of some sort- smugglers abandon ship, pirates kill crew, ship owner who could not sell, tax/insurance fraud, man-overboards attempted rescue cause other sailor to go over, etc.)

'Allo!
With you i still am.
You fella fellahin forgot...
The GREAT Ray Bradbury wrote an short story based on an newspaper account of this light-house tale:
"The Fog Horn"
Which became Fred Harryhousen work-out:
"The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms..."
"B_B"

I wish he would have that old timer Eskimo hunter/dog-sledder caller on for a pull, or at least partial, show himself. He had some great stories, experiences, and interesting tidbits about the native culture up there and their spirtual/paranormal beliefs. Plus stories of whaling, getting walrus, and arctic travel by sled-dogs could be exciting.

It's a great night for a Knapp night.   :D

I think I'll tune in tonight.  With what's happened to MITD and the insanity of this place, it'll be a nice change.  Knapp is a reassuring constant.

More like a pair of silk pajamas with matching bedrobe.

Yes!  Hunkering down with robe, pipe, egg nog & bourbon.  Thank God for George Knapp.

Martini in hand, Knapp on the radio, half a pack of smokes on the desk, things feel okay tonight.

Mr. Maccabee delivers some good content.  Too bad he has a voice made for print.

I don't believe it.  UFO stuff I've never heard.  And a historical, academic-style approach to the subject?  I couldn't wish for a better show.

In the spirit of Norry, don't forget to ask the question:  "Was it a Frisbee?"

Can you imagine Noory trying to interview this guest while constantly monitoring his paranormal date app revenue?  ;D

LOL, yeah, Dave's not known for paying attention to the show while he hosts it.

Excellent show tonight.  If you haven't read them, I highly recommend Passport To Magonia and Wonders In the Sky both by Jacques Valle with the latter co-written with Aubeck.
Some other shows look interesting coming up this week expecially the one with Adam Blai but unfortunately Noory is at the conn.  I really wish Noory would retire but I guess they will have to pry his microphone from his cold dead fingers to paraphrase a former NRA President.

Oopa!

Yassou, Georgiki Knappos for a great show.  Needed, wanted and appreciated.

Mine(craft) was:  "E: Tune in, turn on and drop out" but it wasn't on that dang-o High-School Pschycolonogy Major's job-list.

I feel thwarted.

Oh, universe sez "lishun to Coast-to-Coat-Tales."

Another pleasant show.  A crackling intro, two sure-handed interviews on cool topics, spirited bumpers and their associated Knapp-notes.  Perfect show to be cradling a snifter of cognac, putting one's chair in full tilt-back position, and letting the mind drift through historical curiosities.

His slurred speech has increased dramatically since I last heard him.
