If you need to put it on a credit card and not pay it off in full right away then you can not afford it.

It makes perfect sense to use a CC because it provides some security in the purchase but ONLY if you can pay it off in full right away. If you make minimum payments like I suspect you do then that trip will cost thousands of dollars.

You may not understand how this works.  These are bureaucracies staffed with humans, thus mostly self serving.  The more so-called clients they so-called serve, the more funding and power they have.  And the more superior they feel.  The goal is to get as many people on social services as possible, not to be efficient or minimize waste, fraud and abuse.  Too many feel even someone like Falkie is some kind of victim.  Kicking people off the dole reduces their funding and power, doesn't benefit them in any way, and may even cause them problems.  Reporting Falkie, or any of the rest of these parasites is a waste of time.  He is home free no matter what he does or doesn't do.  Until the day the whole financial system implodes.

And got up at 5:30 am to be at work before school at 6:30.
I also had a job at school after school as well and then went and did my homework at a restaurant in a casino, where an old family friend was the manager and went home.
No matter what any of you think, I was not a lazy worker. I worked hard at whatever I did for years.


Why should I sell books just because someone on this thread wants me to ?
Or dispose of them.
They are MY property.
As for anyone offering me credit, its based on income and payment history not what YOU or anyone else think of me personally.
Banks offered me cards, I accepted their offers and make the payments.
Along with the one department store card I just got and the first payment will be made in the store on Thursday.
I paid taxes and have the copies of every annual filing in my filing cabinet.
That's all I am going to say about that.
If you can't accept that, too bad.
One other thing.
This bs about my having $600+ in " walking around money " is precisely that.
I pay my electric bill ( Kathy contributes 0 ), the internet and phone bill, laundry, cat food and litter, food and then make payments on the cards, my 1/2 of her storage and car insurance ( $ 105 a month ). At the end of all of that there might be $50-75 left for extras, but I haven't usually calculated it.
Once she gets a place, she will be paying for all of her storage and my stuff will come back in here.
I may pay for her car insurance as long as she takes me out but next year I am going to be saving money to get a car of my own and get my license back.
