I saw Falkie!  I saw Falkie!  I saw Falkie!  I know he doesn't live anywhere near me but I was walking downtown and he passed me.  Same face, same hair, and wide as a house.  I mean he was one puffed out wall of flesh.  I don't mean to be offensive but it was a surreal experience.  I don't think I've ever been near someone that large before especially with so much skin showing.  I was afraid if I got too close I would be sucked in.  To his credit, he was wearing a freshly laundered cheap t-shirt and some tight shiny boy shorts.  He was chugging along at about 1/2 a mile per hour trying to get to the music festival, upright, proud, and steady but clearly fighting bad knees.  I'm sorry if the person is reading this but it was Falkie! 

I'm just so excited I can't think.

I made the roast last night and we shared it but it was undercooked in parts. Later I put it back on and turned it on 200F but fell asleep & salvaged what I could of it and made sandwiches out of it for her & myself. Next time I use the crockpot or Schilling cook in a bag.
Last night I got all the clean laundry out of the back corner as one pile fell on the floor, cleaned off and dusted 2/12 bookshelves until the heat became too intolerable to work and retreated to the living room. During the night I put on my glasses to look at something, put them down to look at something and can't find them. Will finish back corner tonight once it cools down and do a video of it.
Kathy went out to spend the day at the library and Barnes and Noble by herself.
Not a so nice try. Make up a better lie next time. I spent ALL weekend at home.

Although it seems like I've been on this thread forever, Ol' Gerry is still a relative newcomer to the Falkie thread.  I'm aware of a lot of the George Senda canon, but have still not heard the background behind a lot of it.

In tonight's episode, we go back to George's telling, in his own words, of the story of how Bill Gates once offered him a job.

Given everything that has gone down in the time since this was first published on YouTube, I thought it would be a good idea for everyone to go back and listen to Kathy's monologue regarding a whole host of issues - including her marriage, her relationship with George, and the fact that she was soon to be evicted.  It was interesting to listen to this again now that we know how it all played out.

The mother-in-law, and her property ownership, are addressed here - probably went over most of our heads back at the time, but was brought up recently.  Kathy talks about how, despite this, it still wouldn't be worth it to her to stay married to her husband any longer anyway, and how she'll pursue a proper dissolution to the marriage when she is able to afford it.

I don't see how he was in the position to offer anyone a job at the time, seeing as he himself didn't have one.

I'm not dissing Gates by no means. I may not like the deathgrip MS has on the computer industry or his tactics, but he certainly knew how to make and sell a product. When he told the microcomputer company he could write a Basic interpreter, he was bluffing as he didn't have the equipment to do it, but when he did get the equipment he made good on his word and wrote it. My point was that 1975 was not even the infancy of MS, there were no jobs to offer as yet so saying he offered Falkie a job doesn't add up. I got my computer science degree years later, but those were the most exciting days in the growth of the industry. The people who were software developers had to be of necessity firmware developers, compiler and assembler writers and pioneers in coding as well as software developers and most likely did it all without benefit of what we now call computer science degrees.  They were very, very bright and accomplished and paved the way for people like myself who came later. But I digress. At any rate, I have a great deal of respect for them and rather doubt this story.
