Personally, I think Onan laid out the argument quite well. Falkie isn't the same as Heather, especially when you consider ethics. But personally, I don't really care about that comparison because I don't listen to either.

For the 96th time an argument based on what a person has done is not an argument based on the person's inborn traits. Ad hominem argument is based on the traits of the person making the argument. I am saying bateman/votequimby needs to spend his time elsewhere based on what bateman/votequimby has said and done. Not based on his ethnicity, religion, lens prescription or any number of other traits unrelated to his argument.

Learn what ad hominem arguments really are. It's what smart people do.

Yep, and this is exactly why Art should not use Bellgab as a gauge for his support or performance.  I hope Art doesn't actually believe that this board represents his broad, massive audience around the world.  It does not.  Bellgab is like a magnet for the mentally ill, maybe Art's radio show was also a magnet for the mentally ill and that's why now those same people are coming here to bask in each other's bitterness?  Who knows.

People can, for the most part, post whatever they want. I sometimes don't like it but it does make for a much more interesting forum than making sure every argument is written at a post graduate level.

Rather than quote the number of definitions that do include a person's character and actions OR debating argumentation definitions, let's pretend I said "personal" attacks instead of "ad hominem." I think my observation would still stand.
