I had the same thought.  I have not seen anyone making fun of COPD, but clearly the timing of and reasons for Art making such personal medical information known was questioned here.  Given his track record, that should come as no surprise, however.

Well, if he has COPD, why was it not apparent in the interview with MV?  If it's in the very early stages, wouldn't he get a few last shows in if he loves radio so much?

I don't want to accuse him of lying about this too, but nothing he's said lately makes any sense.

Redardless of everything else Art having COPD makes perfect sense since hes been a life long smoker, hell i only smoked for about 10 years and i can feel how much that impacted my lung capacity i can only imagine someone who's done it as long as Art has.

Not too long ago, the interview with MV, he mentioned catching himself smoking once in awhile and putting the cigarettes out after a couple puffs.  No mention of health issues, no mention of COPD.  Then a few days later he comes out with COPD and seemingly implies it was a contributing factor in his no longer doing the show (it ''has come on much more in the last Months'').

IMO when he decides to put information out, he ought to be straight with people and put the full story out there or for crissakes stop commenting on his personal life.  In other words either quit with no explanation, or quit and tell the real reason why in the first place without changing the story or adding additional pertinent details later.

Before Art made up the stalker story and quit, everyone on this site had only positive things to say about him and the show.  Other than a rare comment here or there, those who thought otherwise kept it to themselves. 

The real question is whether Art really ever came here for anything other than curiosity and show promotion.  He says he's a 'BellGabber', but I'm not sure he's ever posted on any other threads

I think Art, in part, comes here to get his ego stroked; or, at least he used to before a portion of the members here started to feel the "stalker" story was made up and started getting on his case about that.  There was a lot of bitterness over Art allowing that supposed situation to scare him off the air after so much time and energy had gone into his return to radio and making MITD a success.  It particularly stung coz there was supposedly a big deal with Cumulus right around the corner that would have aired MITD on a lot more terrestrial radio stations. 

I think if Art can find a way of hosting MITD once or twice a week, that some of that bitterness may die down.

I'm still holding mine.  Not to brag, but my lung capacity is excellent.  Never smoked, exercise daily.  (Well, almost daily).  Still 20 pounds overweight so, no, I am not a paragon.

I think I've heard this guy before.  If he is who I think he is, he came off to me as being honest and sincere, just not very knowledgeable of the technology of which he espouses.  Even if this is not who I think it is, not so sure how impressed I am with a guy whose bio highpoints relative to his ufology efforts include being born near an air base and being a member of UFO internet forums.

It's funny, I used to care what Bell Gab said about me, but even when I was doing the show people on here said "it's just not the same" or "the same lousy old Guest's" or the old standby "he sounds drunk" or " he must have Alzheimer's", so it's not like you seemed to enjoy it when I was on the air. For that reason I can't get very worked up about wether you care if I do any more air work or not because as nearly as I can see you don't like much anyway.

That's only a portion of the MITD listenership that had those criticisms.  I enjoyed most of the shows, except when the topic didn't interest me.  Also there are many other listeners than Bellgabbers of MITD, out there in Radio Show Listening Land, that were enjoying the show.  So I think you give undue weight to the criticizers, Art.

The city officials, of course, will do nothing about it and have threatened him. His daughter left and his wife divorced him- due to the smoke. He also insinuated that we gave a special flu to enemies in Vietnam and Laos in addition to weather modification to flood out their paddy fields and Ho Chi Ming trail. "Of course" Norry ignored following up on those interesting claims. Art would've made it into a great caller by getting more details on all of the above.

Those were great for cerebral and I would like to add, for fun, I really enjoyed the moment Art made the Feral Humans show about Zombie Love/Hate. That was a fun show and showcased how Art could make a stinker show into a winner and fun one.

That is the think with Art.. He seems addicted to drama and negativity and filters out anything positve.
You can see so many examples here where he only responds to people who either criticize him or troll him.

Hey all, I know I haven't posted much but have been lurking again because I just had a quintuple bypass open heart surgery (don't do that if you don't have to) and I just wanted to thank ALL of you for keeping a smile on my face over the past week, not to mention the past four months or so. I mean, this shit is GREAT, better than a movie!

Looking forward to convalescing while reading bellgab and can't wait to see the shit fly one way or the other regarding Art's "impending" appearance on MitD!

That's either the best Bart Simpson excuse for not doing your BellGab homework I've heard or you really have been busy. Hope you have a bit more fun during the convalescing than you've had so far. We'll be here (just as long as the server doesn't disappear, as it seems to do every once in a while).
