My question is directed towards forum members that continue to rant.

Art quit. I think all of us knew it would happen eventually. Ok, it was much earlier than anticipated. I'm not sure how railing against him does anything.

Personally, I don't get what those people think Art is going to do? They're just pissed he quit again, and even if he were to come back, they'd still be turned against him. Also, he doesn't owe them anything. He perhaps owes an apology (IMO) to the people who supported MITD- from Keith, to Heather, to the smaller scale programs riding on the waves of his fame...  but he doesn't owe the people in this forum a damn thing. There are many who act like he does, though.  If it weren't that big of a deal to them, if they expected it, if if if..  then what the hell are they so mad for?  I mean, downright vile, personal attacks. Wouldn't a beer and a punching bag down in the basement be just as rewarding?

Art Bell seems to be trolling pretty hard with the best of them, as of late. He retired, said he didn't retire, never gonna crack a mic again, was on Fridays show hours after he said nevar again. You know what else blows? Actually, the one show I thought would scare the hell out of me, didn't. The dude who supposedly eats glass- cuz it said he was the king of macabre or some such.  All of the old EVP shows, the ghost to ghost shows, etc..  I would literally wake my husband up and tell him to skip that one and go on to the next.  You know, a nice Ebola or Nuclear War show. I have to say as much as like your quick zingers I like the longer posts, too.

I'm new to forumming but I think trolling suggests saying things you don't mean in order to provoke a reaction.  Art was contradictory but I think he meant all those things at the time he said them.  And the reaction he provoked couldn't have been his intent.  Can one be a troll unknowingly?  That's an existential question beyond my limited reach.

How is going on the air in any capacity be any different than him continuing with MITD ( which it clearly seems he has chosen not to do) relative to his alleged families safety?

Art bailed AGAIN...he wrote he hung up the mike for the last time...he is not doing a show tonight or any other night, yet he hasn't RETIRED, but he has named Heather as the new host of MITD.

He has basically sunk Keith and DMDN.

Yet he is still living in the same place where all the "danger" is, with the family he is protecting  and seemingly not doing anything about it that we know of, other than quitting MITD as the ultimate solution to all of the Bell's safety.....meanwhile putting out FB posts endorsing Heather.

All of this is beyond ludicrous.

As a very long time listener for over 2 decades I would like to say that I am finally done with Art Bell after this last whatever it is, however I guess like many of us, we still are here waiting for Art to jerk us around again....and again...and again.....

Two things here, the first is the comparison of Heather with Art.  That is like buy a ticket to a Taylor Swift concert she cancels but substitutes a first round cancellation from the The Voice.  I get that same feeling. 

Secondly, most police departments have a detective division.  Could it be that this is being actively pursued as a ongoing case?  Cases are usually not solved over a weekend. 

Additionally, there is a certain amount of thoughtlessness from Art on how this was handled from a business perspective to all involved.  That includes affiliates, Dark Matter, other shows on Dark Matter and even fans.  Remember #ArtBellFansMatter.

Honestly, you don't know why people who are angry, upset, and disappointed rant?
And continue to rant when they feel jerked around again and again by something that they really like. Art may have been a catalyst that set them off, and even though they are taking it out on him excessively, it's not really about him, it's about some other underlying problem they have in real life. Hes their temporary release valve. You may see that as a piss poor band-aid, however you a pro. And most can't afford a pro, to help them effect a more ideal outcome by dealing with the real underlying issues that life brings them. 

Are you sure you help people with emotional problems? Maybe you should reevaluate your career, for the sake of your clients if these basic concepts elude you. I know you know better, Onan. You are better than that, man.
