Assuming DMDN can hang on for longer than 30 days, has Heather said she would continue on beyond 30 days?  It's probably irrelevant, anyway.  I'm of the opinion if Art doesn't work something out within the next month where he's back, at least on some basis, it's curtains for MITD, anyway.

My point is primarily directed towards those that seem to have turned their disappointment into resentment.

Oh no, you haven't misread at all. He hasn't misread that, either, per his FB posts. I would love to hear more live Art Bell. No doubt about that.  I think what happened (in general, and to his family) sucks, and I don't know what can be done about it.. but how it was handled. Yikes!  It was handled poorly and hastily, and now it's all unraveled so quickly that I don't see how he could come back.  He *just* got ABC on board, and they're already posting farewells on their site.  Keith is dumping the network in 30 days, shows are moving elsewhere or ending entirely.. I mean, it's awful.  Why he couldn't have come up with a better solution to all of this, and why couldn't this have been more thought out so that people wouldn't be sitting here p*ssing in his Wheaties over it all?

I honestly think that while you still have a lot of people who want to hear him come back to radio, a lot more people (at this early stage) are in total "F-U" mode.  It's a shame.

I'm sure some graduate student in some psych department somewhere is writing a dissertation on the reaction(s) of posters due the various Art roller-coaster over the years, as we speak. Pfizer will soon come out with a pill that will solve these problems for us rendering her elaborate theories worthless, however. But it will be then proven to be no more effective than a placebo or ranting on Bellgab, get a blackbox warning, and taken from market (still will be sold and marketed overseas for off-label use.)

I think the answer is simple, a certain segment of the Bellgab population enjoy being assholes. Most of the negative posts I've seen were from people that were acting like assholes long before Friday.

Now that things are shutting down, I would like to have some word of the detectives Art hired.  I can understand, while they are working, keeping things quiet, but now when he has succumbed to the demands of the stalker, he could come up with some information for us.

I mean, if the cops look inept from the first, wouldn't ANYONE then think of detectives?  There are agencies with ex-cops and federal agents that have marvelous solve rates.

How about cutting his losses?  MITD was not taking off as they planned.  Four months in and the big market radio world was not beating the anticipated path to Pahrump.  That's more likely the real reason why Art bailed out.

I think much of it is genuine anger and kinda selfish disappointment, if Art's danger is real or he thinks it is.  The therapeutic value of expressing it is easy to understand and this is one place to do it.
