Art--I'd tell him to "F" off...some great broadcasters went way beyond 70, the late Paul Harvey certainly did for one.  And I totally agree that almost all those doing paranormal radio just plain suck!  You can make the subject sing.  And AM radio--yep that's a dinosaur.

There is a Baltimore broadcaster named Les Kinsolving that is 87 and last year was doing a show 5 days a week, he has since moved to just Sunday nights but still!

Life is changing
AM radio is dying ..my local mall is near closure..Art however is a constant. Unlike many other things though he is evolving with the times. I have confidence that Art will love podcasting.

Lester isn't really an ideal example, though.  I used to see him at the daily White House briefings all the time on C-Span years ago, and he didn't have both oars in the water back then.  However, while he didn't always make sense, he was never dull!

If Art was serious about making a go of it, he would do terrestrial radio + podcast it like his main competition. Otherwise it's a hobby.

Wow this quote is baffling. It actually points the opposite. The problem with the media and the genre in particular is that too many people in it view it as a job and you can tell by there work. There no passion, it's all about punching your clock and just spewing out a few hours just because it's a job to do.

The GREATS, no matter what field, could be sports, artists, music, writing, etc, have one thing in common. They do what they love. It's starts as a "hobby". Now if it becomes successful and a lot of people want to go on a ride with them, than of course that's a great bonus. But it's not done just because it's popular or it has a large spotlight, it done because there's a passion an love for the field.

It reminds me of Art's story of how he started C2C. When he was doing talk radio and was doing generic talk topics. But he felt bored of the same ol' topics so starting talking about the abnormal topics that hasn't had been talked in mainstream radio. That was a huge risk, a huge chance, the whole thing could have flopped.  But Art took a chance and pursued his "hobby" and became successful.

For the second time - the comment about spotting the Dave-bots also made it
probably other Art quotes have made it in the past too, like about us being "vaguely loveable"

Fine, fine.  My memory is lagging  :-\.

Art- Please don't let the negative comments from so called "in the know" experts get to you. That's what they want- to rattle you. They must be worried or they wouldn't be posting about it. Others overestimate the value of their opinions.

I stopped listening to Coast and don't miss it one bit. The show is not the same without you. I got tired of the poor quality but I'm grateful because it motivated me to find better alternatives in Youtube videos, podcasts, internet shows, books, etc. All of these are far more informative and entertaining than AM radio.

I can't say it enough- I'll be so happy to add your new show to my list. You are one of the greats and we certainly need to hear more from you.

And I believe the quoted "expert" was a program director of many decades.  Good for him. Nothing spells failure more loudly.  Bleh.  If ever there's been a crowd of people who have the instincts of throat cancer, it's radio management.  Not one of them has ever managed to entertain an audience in any meaningful way, yet they're all experts on what listeners need to hear.  It's their mission in life to impede creativity.  Radio management generally is comprised of the lowest scum you'll ever encounter in any industry.

What is the status on Art's return?

Art said he's negotiating with a big player in the industry, but the Illuminati are doing everything in their power to keep Art from getting a new show started, so we shouldn't even speculate about the thing until Art comes with an update. Naturally I know 100% what, who, how, and where, but you have to be patient. Jews have to be in the know of such things, after all we pwn the media.

This is only true 99% of the time.

And he needs us to defeat the illuminati with a massive social media blast campaign right before his return to the air?

" Hi, I'm Art Bell. You can get any podcast on any topic for only $ 4.95. Just go to my channel and subscribe or drive to one of the thousands of Art Bell podcast shops all across America. " ... To be done in the style of the old Earl Scheib commercials with an Art Bell podcast shop logo in the style of an Earl Scheib sign.

For those of you too young to remember Earl Scheib, he ran a nationwide company specializing in collision repair. In the early days of American television, you would see his commercials where he would proudly proclaim, “I’ll paint any car, any color, for $19.95″.

Earl Scheib ceased operations nationwide on July 16, 2010. The corporation can no longer honor its customer warranties. The company allowed many of its shop managers to become small business owners by allowing them to purchase the equipment and fixtures in their shops, and to use the Earl Scheib name for their business. Many shop managers became business owners under this model. The majority of shops were closed; leased locations were turned back over to the landlords; and if the real estate was owned by Scheib, then those locations were sold.

There are still Earl Scheib shops open today in Concord, Ca, 10 miles from here and several around the SF Bay area as well.
