I can't believe nobody mentioned this.  George said about the first guest (almost exact quote):

"We took so many calls about him that it crashed his website"

I haven't heard Norry talking about his "protect the grid" campaign in a short while. I'm sure he will be at it again tonight in the news segment (unless he can find a child that died tragically or bizarrely which would obviously preempt any other story.)

Hey Jorch, I know you love to peruse this thread, so I have a piece of advice for you. If you actually took the time to pick Tommy's pubes out of your mouth, you might find that your typical mush-mouthed performance on Coast might be slightly improved.

This will be the real test of just how "done" Dave is with the project.  If he wishes it to completely fade into the past, he will not mention this now.  It has been a few months, many people have no recollection of his "campaign" and if he just shuts up about it even fewer will question it in another month.

Around the same time as he was worried about the grid, I seem to recall there was an advertiser on his show offering to sell people generators.  Is this advertising campaign done?  if so, I would image we have our answer on what to expect tonight (too bad he cannot give this "cause" away like he did his supposed dog at the end of the other advertising campaign...)

Sweet.

This, with the first guest:

Joorch: What proportion of people would you say are walking round with something wrong with them?
Wallach: 100 per cent.
Joorch: That's a lot!

This has to be one of my favorite Daveisms of late. Holy shit that is funny.

He mentioned last night when he was talking to the AI guy, with various scenarios for AI such as the grid going down.  He talked about his campaign then but I don't remember any details.

Holy cow, I got home from Seattle about 11:45 last night and heard about the last 15 minutes with Dr. Joel Wallach. First of all, I think it confirms our suspicions that a lot of his questions are actually pre-submitted by the guest. And I don't think he's the only radio host who does it, but he does it the most clumsily. But Wallach was slurring his words, talking so fast that he wasn't enunciating clearly and dropping syllables in words.  It must be contagious because Noory was doing it too, it seemed. I am usually not in a hurry to suspect guests or hosts of being on alcohol or drugs, but you have to wonder.
Isn't Wallach the one who claimed to have done so many thousands of autopsies?  Since he's a veterinarian, they might have actually been necropsies--on parakeets, or something. Anyway, I calculated how many he would have had to have done per year, per day, and so forth, depending how old he is.  For calling out liars and phonies, there's nothing like old-fashioned arithmetic. Wallach has to be one of the worst of Noory's "medical' guests, and that's saying a lot.

Have any of you actually looked at Critical Health news?  How about that testimonial from the 93 year old lady who used Beyond Tangy Tangerine?  Do you think she's really 93?

Depends on where and how she used it. it could be a suppository for all we know.

Fats and oils smoke/burn at various temperatures, it's best to select the right one for whatever is being cooked

Morgus

Is it only cooking with olive oil thats bad?
How about just putting some virgin olive oil (cold from the bottle) on a salad to mix with a vinegarette dressing - is that OK?

only overheating oil is bad. extravirgin olive oil burns easily. cold (as in a salad) it is fine.

He's missed a trick, though. I'm just catching up on UK news, where a one year old was crushed against a wall by a truck and killed. Surely a one year old trumps a five year old, Dave? But that one wasn't on video, so where's the fun, eh?

We know he reads this forum for show prep so I expect this to be his lead in tonight.

Dave talking to guest about an alleged 256-year old man from China's history books.  Dave's elegant question: "Was it controversial about... his length of... birth?"

Then there was a long pause in which he could've corrected himself and said "length of life" but chose not to.  The guest seemed annoyed.

Dave will never backtrack, and correct himself because that is just not his style.

This week in George Noory Tautology Corner:  "Will there be a self-replicating robot that can replicate itself?"

That ranks up there with the best, or the worst of Dave.

And I hope Steve Jobs' vegan chef was listening. Wallach pretty much accused him of killing Jobs. Did Joorch pick him up on that? Not at all.

I haven't investigated it scientifically, but the stuff I've read suggests virgin and extra virgin olive oils are probably the best and healthiest oils available from most grocery stores so long as they aren't overheated and probably should be part of your diet, so used in a vinegarette is perfect.  The polyunsaturates make the oils beneficial, but also make them more susceptible to damage from higher temperatures.

I only like to use a bit of the old olive oil virgin, or not for salad dressing... and feel that anything Dave/one of his guest(s) say is bad for you is actually the opposite.

It's estimated some 70% of the worlds 'olive oil' is fake (cut with cheaper oils).  Nearly all olive oil claiming to be 'extra virgin' is fake.

Then there are the oils claimed to be from Italy in order to charge more, but are actually from olives grown elsewhere.

The industry as a whole is incredibly corrupt, there is plenty - such as brand info- on the internet

Sorry I hadn't listened to last nights broadcast yet. Indeed he did mention his campaign with the AI guy. What a hilarious time of garbled questions. Raking leaves and listening I was laughing out loud and some of the garbled questions. I can't wait for Art to come back but I find myself asking: I sort of want Norry around. C2C and Norry have become a sort of parody of itself which, in certain circumstances (like heavy drinking or working in the yard- or both) is fun to listen too because of the mess and ridiculous questions and inbred callers. Even the pregnant pauses by guests after yet another inane question are remarkably hilarious. Certainly it is NOT something to actually listen too but as background noise it is hilarious. The more "serious" the topic the more hilarious it is.

Yeah and what about friggin balsamic vinegar?  It used to be of somewhat limited supply, aged in special conditions in Italy or whatnot, very expensive ... now it's everywhere and costs the same as ketchup.  Sometheen's hapeneen there.

Let's get ready to hear Dave suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Well that's true.  In Europe the exta virgin designation is taken pretty seriously, but in North America not so much.  Hopefully that is changing with the growing olive industry in California.  A study a couple years ago tested three batches each of a number of major brands calling their product 'extra virgin.'  Costco's Kirkland Extra Virgin Olive Oil was the only one to test true each time.  I suspect many of the others had just been stored poorly or too long.

If you're wondering how I happen to know this (or happen to care  :D), I have acquired nine olive trees in six different Italian cultivars over the past couple years.  There are a few people here in the Pacific NW and the SW coast of Canada experimenting with different varieties hoping to develop a local oil industry.  I thought it is something I would like to do when I retire so I'm evaluating the different kinds.  I haven't planted them yet though because the septic field is too close to the area I had planned to grow them.

And never forget, GNS.

That would lead to the pets death. Dave has a history of killing his, and telling the girls he likes about it when he talks to them.

Oh, good.  Now an interview with a lawyer.

George:  Like I always say, we never tell people whether they should take a vaccine or not but golly gosh darn it, I sure do like to use my show to validate myself and my opinions.

I may have added the last part.
