I recall Norry speculating and said "as a kid" he thought about a "big hole" in the ocean bottom that would drain all the water out. He mentioned it with one guest- who said it was the opposite situation in that the plates were expanding from ridges etc and more likely to find magma flowing out underneath the ocean. But I distinctly recall Norry's "big hole" in the ocean speculations. That could explain "where did all the water go" in his mind.

Noory has told me ratings methods were too PRIMITIVE in Art's heyday and that because of it Art NEVER had 15 million listeners.


Also that his numbers keep going up when from July to this month on Talkers his listener ship #'s were  2.25 to 2.5 million and didn't move an inch for 8 months.
I also suspect that his recent slight rise is because Iheart radio has expanded to be heard in more and more places.


Drove by the local Shell refinery and saw the greedy unionists. Some of the picketers were even heavier than me. Gave them a shoutout too.

On the way home the network news announced Williams said he's taking time off from the NBC Nihgtly We Made It All Up News.


But he said he intends to come back.


As Rush said the other day, if Huntley, Brinkley,Swazee had done this and gotten caught, they would have immediately resigned.
The same goes for poor John Henry Faulk who fought a battle and won in court because he was accused of being a Communist. He finally won damages in court.

That was why I said that Noory was only 'largely correct'


To be completely fair, Noory didn't mention number of viewers at all. I believe he said something like "he brought NBC News back to prominence that hadn't be seen since the days of Huntley Brinkley" (and actually just Brinkley as well).  Which, as NBC leads the nightly news race by a fair margin, he did.  Though given the total number of nightly news viewers (even adding in Faux, MSNBC, CNN and PBC) it really is akin to a turtle derby.
